Love love love Alida Hamilton, her expertise and willingness to support in any way. Shes so accessible via phone call and email. She literally can make anything happen and works well with all venders (caterer, coordinators etc) I fell in love with this venue when I came for a wedding and now it is MY VENUE The space is huge and grand, everything is already so elegant you don't need to add too much to it. They allow you to cricket things onto their mirrors as long as it's removed during clean up afterwards. You have your pick of rooms to use, use it all!!!! You pay for it! The dressing rooms upstairs allows for space for the groomsmen (1), bridesmaids (3), family (1) and additional bathrooms and showers (bring your own towels) in the space! There's a balcony for a hidden dj if you'd like. But also for a bouquet toss, or just admiring your wedding and guests. The arch for the ceremony is already there and ready, it's beautiful even without flowers. Truly a beautiful space, plenty of parking for about 150 guests. I am so so happy it's my wedding venue in May! read more

Attended my nephew's wedding that was held at Raspberry Plain Manor. Beautiful venue from the building itself to the grounds. The large windows looking over the back grounds of the building were beautiful for the backdrop of the wedding. The staff were very pleasant. One young lady was there to open the door for guests going in or out. read more

Nicholas Suarez is such a pleasure to work with! He's friendly, professional, and knowledgable with a great sense of humor. He communicates well, responds quickly, and is willing to answer any questions. Nicholas gave me and my fiancé an in-person tour yesterday, and he was very helpful from start to finish. The venue itself is elegant, beautiful, and spacious with high ceilings and glass windows. The view is also beautiful with rolling fields and greenery in the background. We were so pleased with our experience that we ended up booking a date with Nicholas at Raspberry Plain Manor the same day! We're very excited to work with the RPM team. read more

*In theory Raspberry Plain Manor is a good place to have a wedding, but their execution isn't something to recommend. My experience was not worth the price I paid. Maybe if you have your own wedding planner rather than the people that work there? (someone who actually knows how to do their job) If they promise you no headache and no stress: do not believe them! Wedding: July 8, 2023 2 weeks before my wedding, I would send my coordinator detailed information about the wedding. She said she got it. We talked in detail during the final walk through. My coordinator (Alida) assured me everything is going to be ok, she understood the assignment.I thought she was going to be able to coordinate the day of the wedding with no problem. I WAS WRONG! Day of the wedding, I was running 10 mins late. I come in and everything is chaotic already. I was like ok, as long as everyone that was supposed to be there was there. We can come back to the timeline right? WRONG! Alida comes up to me saying we didn't have enough alcohol for the signature drink (we didn't have one). We had a welcome drink, was only for when the guests arrived. (she seemed confused) Even the paper that I gave her said welcome drinks. My mom told me, so we were running late and the guests has arrived and my wedding is in July and its a hot summer day. My mom said let's start the wedding, but most of the guests were sitting on one side of the chairs because thats where the shade was. Alida wants to kinda move people around so that it's more symmetrical. My mom was ok then do it (seeing as the coordinator it should be her job! instead of just standing there with her assistant doing god knows what). Well Alida didn't do that my mom had to tell the guests to move around so that it's more even. There were signages that were missing and things that were not put out (flip flops for the guests to dance in) If I had not noticed it would've been wasted and when we asked Alida why it wasn't out she said ok yeah "I forgot I was suppose to do that" I had to keep reminding Alida what we needed to do and I was coordinating my own wedding!! I had to look for people, tell the photographers we needed to take table pictures. Even though I've told Alida the plan she never executed them. It was just one disaster after another. Most of the time we couldn't Alida - we should've made a drinking game out of it haha The mashed potato bar was sad - spend 1k on one pan of mash potatoes with 4 small bowls of toppings. When my family was doing the tasting they said there would be "all the toppings you could think of". Well there weren't **note: I talked to them about my experience and they will compensate me a small amount back for my troubles. It's been 8 weeks and I still haven't received my damage deposit. I've been informed there aren't any damages. read more

I got married at this venue two months ago and it was everything I hoped for. The team here works very hard and was rapidly responsive to my likely hundreds of emails I sent this year! My day-of coordinator, Caitlin, even has a work cell that she allowed me to text her through for even quicker replies for more urgent matters. Planning a wedding was one of her hardest things I have ever done and I felt like the personnel at this location made it easier for me along the way. If you are looking for classic Virginia-looking venue, this place fits the bill as it's an old colonial home with really lovely wood floors, 1700's style furniture, and a breathtaking reception hall that has French windows that are nearly panoramic that give you views of the surrounding well-groomed grounds. If you don't have a cloudy day - you will even have views of the Blue Ridge Mountains which my husband loved the most about this venue. Keep in mind, a wedding will never be 100% perfect, but I think it would be hard not to have a good time here! The dance floor was huge!! Some good facts to know - they have plenty of ground floor, handicap accessible bathrooms and multiple upstairs bathrooms for the wedding party to use. The grooms suite and Bridal suite are lovely and great places to get ready in with nice couches and windows. In my Bridal suite I could even spy on my guests below before the ceremony! If it rains, which luckily it did not on my wedding day, the reception space is an excellent back-up spot. read more

Beautiful scenery, false representation by staff for cash My fiancé and I were thinking of putting a day on hold for five days. When we spoke to Nicholas, he said that we would have to make a $1000 deposit, but that the money would be returned if we did not book. He reiterated this through email when I asked again. We decided to not have our wedding at Raspberry Manor. When I called him later to ask why the money had not been returned, he said that the money was forfeited as he had not heard back from me within five days, per the contract. He never mentioned this clause before. There was a clause stating that the money will not be returned unless communication is made regarding the contract within five days. We did make communication regarding the contract during this time, but he was looking for a definitive answer (which the contract did not ask). I eventually got the money back after bringing up what he said in person and by email, and bringing up that we did communicate during the five day time frame. We are glad that we did not choose this venue, as he misrepresented to us twice. In fairness, he did return us the money fairly quickly after he said he would. I'm giving two stars because the place is beautiful, and he returned the money. read more

My husband and I were married at RP May, 2010. Like every bride that chooses this location, I imagined getting married in the beautiful lawns. FORTUNATELY, that's right-fortunately it rained/no poured on my wedding day. At the last minute, we moved all chairs and decorations inside the Grand Conservatory. This was all being done by my bridal party AND Maria while I was getting pictures taken-with no clue. The ceremony inside was absolutely gorgeous. The rain had a calming effect, making it seem like the room was filled with no one but the officiant, my husband and I. While I dreamt of getting married outside, May brings lots of bugs. Constant swatting was replaced by tears and smiles. If you're a princess like me, your fairy tale wedding awaits at RP. Maria is fantastic to work with. The venue is simply breath taking. There are plenty of hotels for guests to stay at (I had everyone shuttled back to Lansdowne Resort). I look back at my pictures and am so happy with our decision to get married at RP. This space is everything you could possibly want in a special events space. Maria has since been replaced with new & improved ownership, the building has been renovated & is now fully utilized in so many more ways, the view is outstanding, their in-house resources professional & extensive (In-House catering: Gala Cuisine, In-house Coordinator: Laura with Iconic Events LLC, & In-house Photographer: Joffoto), and they even have an adorable, rustic swing perfect for photo opps!! I can see why people have been talking about this venue even more recently (the new owners just held an official Grand Opening in early May) and why this venue has been quite busy with weddings, corporate events and special events. Kudos to Sammy and the rest of the staff for making my daughters special day truly special. The views were stunning and the venue was perfect. Even with the torrential downpour that day and fantastic time was had by all. The food was excellent and we received many compliments. I would highly recommend Raspberry Plain as a wedding venue! We recently held my daughter's wedding here in October! From the our initial impression to the open house to the booking to the "Big Day", everyone we dealt with warm and professional! We booked just under 1 year out and felt everything was handled so well! Our primary contact and coordinator was Laura Kim! She was on top of everything, and made us feel that our wedding was her only worry! The food was amazing! Lots of selections no matter what your taste! Very very good! Make sure you are 100% sure of this venue before you give a deposit. This was the only venue we looked at that required a 50% deposit to hold the date, and 100% paid within 30 days. All of the other mansions were willing to hold a date for a week without a deposit so we could collect our thoughts. That should have been our first warning sign. We changed our mines within a week under special circumstances, plenty of time to re book the date. Maria was uncompromising, totally business. Not who you would want to deal with on your special day. read more

My daughter was married at Raspberry Plain on June 6, 2015, and both the venue and Maria have my highest recommendation. It is a beautiful place and worked well with all the things we wanted to do. First, it has a great outdoor area for the wedding and a very good inside backup plan. The weather was very iffy in the morning for our 5:00 p.m. service, so Maria and the caterer waited until 3:00 p.m. when it cleared up to make the call so we could have it outside. The weather turned out to be beautiful. If we had been made to decide earlier in the day, we probably would have gone for the backup plan but their flexibility ended up giving us just what we wanted. We had a cocktail hour outside as well, which was in a beautiful area outside the reception conservatory. Inside for the reception, the layout was great - the tables, dance floor, photo booth, and two bars were all together and very convenient. We used Maria as our day-of coordinator, and she took care of everything. Her vendor recommendations were excellent - she gave us 2 or 3 or her preferred vendors for each category (caterer, flowers, videographer, DJ, etc) and we choose between them. Many of them had worked together many times before and everything worked seamlessly. Augustin at the Chef's Table was great, and so was Rick's Flowers. We used MSE Productions for both our DJ and our musical trio, and they were excellent as well. read more

I went to a fundraiser at this dump. You would think that a place like this would have a paved driveway, but there is a gravel driveway in poor shape that almost took out the bottom of my sports car. The first thing I saw when I pulled in was a construction cone and a couple of sawhorses on the left. Tacky tacky tacky. There is a tennis court that is in disrepair, and hanging off the front of of the house were these tacky, cheap Christmas lights. Yes, Christmas lights in July. Once inside, the place felt old (yes, I know that technically it is old but I am using the word negatively because of the condition) and was obviously not well cared for. For example, while standing in an interior door way, looking down near the floor where the molding met, it was actually dirty. It didn't look like this place had been cleaned well in years. In the main room where the dinner was, the walls were dingy, and the dance floor had a bunch of dings in it, some big enough for a woman's high heel to get caught in. The highlight of the night was when a fellow guest killed a huge cockroach next to the dance floor. This place might look OK in the pictures they used to advertise it, but in reality it is not well cared for, not impressive, and from what I understand, the owner is unethical, difficult to work with, and does not respond to emails and phone calls once she has your money. There are dozens of much better places to hold an event and I suggest you go to any one of them instead of this place. read more

Raspberry Plain is a wonderful place to have a wedding. If the weather is nice, they have beautiful gardens, or if it rains (as it did on our wedding day) they have a wonderful indoor option, a greenhouse-like atrium with stone floor and small lights decorating the walls with large windows. It is a very warm and inviting place and Maria is an amazing help. She is kind, thoughtful, responsive, and made sure that everything ran as easily and smoothly as possible.
