It's not a Mexican supermarket of the type you would see in LA or Texas, but it's big for WA State. This is a very clean market. It's well stocked and well organized. They have just about any Mexican specialty item you could think of. Where the small Mexican neighborhood markets (or Safeway) might have 15 spices, this store has the entire line of spices by several companies. Where those store might carry 5 to 10 type of dried chiles, this store carries just about all the ones you can imagine. Chapulines (grasshoppers)? Yes, in two sizes and three flavors (including plain), as well as an Oaxacan hot sauce with chapulines. The meat department is excellent. The quality is high, and the selection is huge. The market offers fresh produce (vegetables, papaya, oranges); meats as well as cooked food four days a week. They have carnitas (meat and skin) and a spicy beef dish. They also carry baked goods (bread, pastries, cookies) along with packaged sweets (guava rolls, milk candies). Of course, what grocery would not be complete without canned, bottled and packaged food (Tajin, mayonesa, la lechera and Goya products). You will also find gift items, piniatas and party items. The two gentlemen who work here are extremely helpful, friendly and speak English (that really helps when my Spanish is rusty). They even suggest recipes and cooking tips.
