This isn't just a little island grocery - it packs a deli, corner store, and neighborhood charm all into one.
The deli is open daily until 5 leaving just enough time to pop in for a sandwich or panini. Don't worry - there isn't any low quality Subway style meats to be found here. You can watch how fresh and clean the kitchen is as they prepare your morsels of goodness.
The corner store has everything you need from candy, beer, produce, dairy. Don't find a beer you love? Add it to the list and they try hard to get it for you. It's just one way the charm shines through.
Seafood lovers - this might be the only place to buy fresh oysters from the island. A couple runs a small shellfish farm out of a cove about a mile away from the Tyee Grocery store. You can pick up all sizes of fresh oysters here and at a good price.
The outside space is lovely, boasting an outdoor fire pit, but the biggest standout is their sign. Yes, their sign. Anyone familiar with Camano Island or the greater Seattle art scene should be familiar with the works of Jack Gunter. He is one of my favorites. I love his water scenes. On my way out I noticed their sign was a Jack Gunter original - something to treasure. I wish I was lucky enough to have something like that in my house! read more
