Date night! Finally , my wish to try Thai Ruby is granted. We went in a Monday night around 430 pm…read moreand were seated in the front window . Yay! I Iove the decor and lighting in here. Lights are low, dark wood, dark blue seating.... Totally different than other Village Square restaurants I've been too. In my opinion, the quietness inside is just wonderful for a change. We were served by Jack. My husband and I both appreciated his quiet friendly grace. He served a rather high maintenance table behind us with such patience, it was amazing to hear . No we weren't eavesdropping, they were being ridiculous. Anyhoo, we both got the spicy shrimp pad Thai and the spicy level was perfect. Hot enough to make me lightly sputter but just once. . My husband said, I could go back there again while I had already planned on what I'd like to try next time.

My three star rating has to do with the ever increasing prices and ever decreasing menu options and ingredients. They used to have some good vegetarian appetizers like summer rolls, but those disappeared from the menu. Thai Ruby has done this ever since COVID and it's absurd. I was shocked to get two lunch items that jumped from the $18 menu price to $22 just for adding vegetables. That's over $50 for lunch, which is not ok in any reality. If we were people who didn't leave the bubble, I suppose we'd put up with this. Since we travel quite frequently, however, we will save our craving for Thai food for elsewhere. Why don't other Thai restaurants open somewhere close? There's definitely a market for them. If I choose to eat here, I'll limit it to their defined lunch items only.

NOT GOOD. We've all had cheesesteak subs that might have had a bit of gristle. It's steak. Meat has gristle, but this sub had it throughout. It was horrible. I was so disappointed - I really wanted to take it back, and ask someone from the kitchen to take a bite. But, alas.... As someone who eats cheesesteak subs, I'm pretty lazy, so I just spit out the gross part and kept eating it. But then I thought I would write a review on Yelp about how bad it was. Ya know, like a lazy person. On a bright note, the pizza was outstanding. Stick with the deluxe pizza w/extra cheese, and you'll be happy. To the Marcos management team.... You should really think hard about offering such a sub par cheesesteak sub. Maybe switch to minute steaks, or a better cut of beef that is all meat. Just my two cents. Or, just stick to pizza. You do that VERY well. Stop trying to be all things to everyone. Focus on your core competency- Fast fresh great tasting pizza!

Instead of taking up a whole table, I opted to sit at the bar and brought a book to read with me. The restaurant, to my surprise, was busier than I expected. I sat down at the bar next to a nice gentleman and lady working on her computer down the row. I was greeted by the waitress who offered me a drink right away. Since it was a Tuesday, I opted for a Shirley Temple. It was actually pretty good. I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered the soup, salad, and breadsticks. My order came out pretty quickly, and the pasta figioli was just as I expected. The dressing on the salad was cold and delicious. And who's going to ever complain about their breadsticks? All in all, really great experience. Highly recommend hitting the Olive Garden if you're in the villages and want a classic, italian meal.

Its a very comfortable restaurant. I ordered the small pizza and you get the option of 5 toppings along with a caesar of Italian salad. I was going to go with Caesar but the waitress recommended the Italian so I said ok. My better half ordered smashed meatball sandwich which is served on a pizza crust just folded in half. It was good but I wish they stated it was in a pizza crust. Hubby loved it so no big deal. Here's what happened. While cutting the caesar salad (although I ordered Italian) a waitress said oh I gave you the wrong pizza. I said well you can't serve it now. She handed me my pizza and I kept the mistake pizza too. Mistakes happen so no big deal but I would not want to be served a pizza that was given to someone else. Anyways pizza is top notch!! We will totally go again and try the full size pizza. We wish they were in Brownwood Square because having a pizza while hanging out in the square would be great!
