I purchased an AR lower from the website and picked up at the Mokena store. All went well through the background check. When I arrived to pick up the item, the man at the counter was finishing the paperwork and inspecting the item. He asked what I was building. When I told him my plans, he got snarky and told me the item that I bought was junk, and would probably blow up when I used it, and I should buy something better. I disagree, however that's not the point. The company should not be selling junk, and they should not be judging customers purchases. I didn't ask for his opinion, and it was not welcome. Do better. read more

I have been a customer at SPB since they have opened there doors. I have transferred more then my far share of firearms to them and never had a problem.Until this week all of a sudden I have to fill out transfer request paperwork never had to before. When I ask the salesman about he gave me the runaround. He was rude and snotty. If your looking to transfer anything do not use them search around. read more

You will wait in line here FOREVER. They need to install another check out line. Members of course get waited on sooner, of course, that's fine. But to hold up lines with one check out person, and have people take forever sometimes is unacceptable. Get one or two more checkout lanes!!! read more

Had a great time! Great place for beginners. The staff is very knowledgeable on the products that they sell and the prices are very affordable. read more

Range USA Mokena - The range - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

My parents were in from Arizona and it's tradition that we always go shooting so I took them to point-blank. We spent $180 for four of us for one hour. Two shooting lanes, three earplugs, two safety glasses, targets one 380 caliber rental when we were getting ready to pay then he tells us we don't have 380 ammunition. I said why didn't you tell us that when we asked for the 380?! Ok no harm done! So we just shot my two 9mm . We also bought a box of 9 mm ammunition well halfway through our our session we run out and I go out to buy another box. They tell me they're out of 9 mm ammo. I understand it's Covid ammo is scarce but when we bought the first box why didn't you tell us that you were really low on ammo and we would've bought two?? So now we paid $180 for a half an hour of shooting and it was a complete waste of money the manager did absolutely nothing except apologize. We just wanted him to make it right give us a voucher for next time or something hire people that are going to use their brain. If someone buys ammo and you know the store is low let them know ahead of time so they have the option to buy two boxes or whatever they want. I think I'll be exploring other ranges from now on and spending my money elsewhere read more

Dude their customer service sucks, they literally talk to you as if they are always annoyed.

Came here for the first time the other day. This is a brand new facility and it is very nice. We came in for the "lunch time special" which is 9 bucks for a half hour of range time. A nice deal for sure. A couple of things I did not care for however. Never been to a place where they were out of 9mm ammo. I saw another review that stated they were out of 45 cal. At that time. Maybe this is attributed to getting a few bugs out of the business process but they have been open a few months now. Another thing is that some of the staff seemed a bit uptight and not as friendly as another new place not far way. This should be addressed with some better staff training. Also the ammo prices were not great but most of the other stuff was. A great selection of arms and equipment to choose from. If not for the few minor things above I would have a rated it higher. I am sure things will get better as it gets on. read more

Great selection of guns for rental. I've taken group classes and private lessons and have been very impressed with the level of instruction and attention to safety and proper handling of firearms at the range and in the home. Range is clean, well-lit and well-ventilated. read more

Brand new gun & rifle range in the Southwest Suburbs! Just stopped by today to shoot on the pistol range and i left very impressed! Very friendly and helpful people working here. Super clean & well organized space. 22 lanes to shoot from. They offer a bunch of daily specials, have decent pricing on ammo, carry a wide variety of guns & also allow for a low fee to shoot/demo other guns. I'm headed back tomorrow to shoot 3-4 as I narrow down the gun I'll purchase for my concealed carry. Great place - highly recommend this place! Update: This is now my weekly range that I shoot at. Most of the staff are super friendly and helpful, but like anywhere, you may catch a person having a bad day but it's never been my experience to date. The old place I used to shoot at in Plainfield was notorious for being unfriendly & customer service being subpar. I've also taken my concealed carry with here. I can't say enough good things about the instructor, Rich Ryan. He's a very down to earth and approachable gentleman that kept the class really interesting by going into some real world situations & applications of concealed carry. I actually looked forward to the class as I learned a lot of "little things" from him. You can find issues with every gun range around but for me, Point Blank is where I'll continue to shoot. Love the place & the nice people here. read more

I visited point blank in Mokena on Monday May 6th , I was in town for a few days from Arizona. I was looking for some T-shirts for myself and four of my friends who go shooting together all the time , imagine my surprise when I walked in the store and the ladies behind the counter told me that they do not sell t-shirts there! WTH? I was looking to bring home some nice shirts as souvenirs for my shooting Buddies and I was determined to get shirts from a range so I had to go to one of your competitors in Oak Forest. I hated like hell to do that but I wanted to get us shirts. Hopefully next time I come into town this will be corrected and you will have plenty of shirts to choose from. But I did buy myself a hat! By the way beautiful facility! The women that were working behind the counter we're awesome very friendly very personable and very courteous! read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. I am a first time buyer and my mom went with me to purchase a gun. I first visited the store in Merrillville Indiana and was treated great, but didn't want to pay $75 to have it sent to Mokena. I can't say the same happened with the associate who "helped" me at the Mokena location. Not only did he berated and belittled me, but he insulted my 2nd amendment right. He lectured me as if I didn't deserve to buy a gun. I feel that if I were a man buying a gun for the first time I would not have been treated that way. I will never buy from this place or use their shooting range. I refuse to be treated that way ever again. Needless to say my mother and myself went to another store (not Shoot Point Blank) where they treated us great and both made a purchase. read more

Went to point blank for the first time yesterday afternoon. They do an amazing job. Place is so clean compared to the other places know the south west suburban of Chicago. Staff is very knowledgeable about the guns, as well as extremely friendly and helpful. They have a great membership program for those who want to shoot many times a month. What a great addition to Mokena! read more

I purchased my last shot gun from point blank, I really don't now much about them. The salesperson I had wasn't great. Had a condescending attitude (I wasn't sure what I wanted, and I didn't know too much about brands and such). But I decided to return to buy some accessories for the shot gun, and was greeted by Nick. Nick was absolutely wonderful (and the main reason I gave 5 stars). Nick was kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. He's the main reason why this location will succeed. But the store is fantastic, and a one stop shop. Really beats the hell out of its competition. It's almost like a family atmosphere. Customers walk in with smiles, and are greeted with smiles. Wonderful place. read more

If you're looking for a clean lane with decent ventilation this is the place. Every time I've been to SPB Mokena the Range Master is watching everyone like a hawk, which I appreciate because I don't know who is on my adjacent lanes. I took my daughter there recently and she had an excellent time. Is it cheap? Nope. But nothing is cheap in shooting. To me it is worth the extra cost knowing that there is a safety hawk watching new or inexperienced shooters. I've read the reviews about service and it's exactly what you'll get in an alpha male dominated sport so no surprises. I've stood there waiting for service holding my heavy range bag while 2 employees finished a lengthy story knowing I'm there then turning to ask if they can help me (thus the 4-star review). Yeah, there can be some guys like at any range, just expect it, but once you get thru that portion and you're on your lane it's all good. I'd rather live a mile away from a clean and safe range and deal with alpha males on occasion then travel for 30 min to a nasty, unventilated, potentially un-safe range. My 2 cents. read more

Was here 2 weeks ago with my cousin we opted to rent the KSG and P365. When I went to exchange the firearm for another firearm the guy at the rental counter was extremely rude and needs to brush up on some customer service skills. He also doesn't know that I have more training than he does when it comes to firearms as I am prior law enforcement and have always been around firearms. Also I asked to see a Glock G43 and wanted to see the Austrian one because it was $50 cheaper than the US made one and salesmen was pissed off at me and said why wouldn't I buy a US made one? Well $50 is $50 and money doesn't grow on trees. Won't ever return back here they way overpriced as well. read more

Went here multiple times. Nice range. Lines are very long. Takes a long time to get people through. Worst I've seen is they shut down their phones when it gets busy. There are alot of people trying to receive there purchases and they make them come and go if they background checks haven't yet cleared. Terrible practice, won't be doing business with them ever again. read more

Everything we went for was in stock. That was a plus! The store wasn't really crowded so we didn't have a long wait in line.

Avoid this FFL. As a range, this place is adequate. Clean range with good prices. But this place is poorly managed. High prices on gear, long wait times, and a staff that loses gun or screws up paperwork. There are many better options out there for FFLs to put up with this poor customer service. read more

Clean, great selection of handguns and decent selection of long guns, good prices, staff on point. I got called out twice for not having my slide open while I was at the table reloading mags. Kudos to the RSO who called me out, I went so far as to mention it to Mike that his guy in there was doing his job and doing it well. Range prices better than others. Air movement is good. Especially when you have a lot of people shooting big calibers. Brought my daughter and she loved shooting the Victory .22. She tried the Ruger and after 20 rounds she wanted the Victory back. Brought her the second time and as we walked up to the case she said I want to shoot the Victory again. Good girl. I'm thinking I should go today. read more

One year ago exactly, I went into Range USA in Mokena. A gentleman helped me - I had certain specifics as to what I was looking for in a fire arm and made it very clear of what I wanted. I went to pick up my firearm 72 hours later - they did not show me the firearm prior to leaving the store. When I got home I realized it was the wrong firearm. I thought I was crazy because I KNOW this man KNEW my specifics especially since he argued with me about what his preferences are. Some people like Honda's others like Chevy's, it's all about preference. Considering I was spending $500+ anyway, I don't know what the issue was. I had to call corporate not only to retrieve the CORRECT firearm but to complain about the lack of customer service I received when picking up. Nathaniel H looked at me as if I had 3 heads and didn't even ask if I needed help or greet me when I walked in. Coincidentally ONE YEAR LATER (TODAY), I wait 30 minutes in line to PICKUP another $500+ firearm. I was on the phone for 20+ min, waiting patiently. Nathaniel H just happened to be the one who approached me after all this time had passed and asked what I needed. I politely said "just picking up". I rudely got "picking up what?!" I said "a firearm". He proceeds and says "first of all, you need to hang up the phone". Of course I would. Sorry I didn't drop everything after waiting patiently as a paying customer for 20+ minutes. I told him that I would hope he has a better day because that is no way to treat nor talk to a paying customer. He said "ya know what...". Walked away and had someone else take care of me. So I waited AGAIN for 10+ minutes, Jim J finishes the pick up process. I expressed my concerns and he quite frankly could care less. I've had a membership with RANGE USA for months and have spent thousands, despite the poor customer service - I visited this store because it was close to my home. Unfortunately, I will NEVER be back. They do not deserve respectful paying customers. Many of the employees are miserable and speak to you as if you don't know what you're doing (sexism???? Realllyyyy?????!!). Considering people go there to pay hundreds if not thousands, you'd think they would have respect for their customers. Shame on you Range USA. read more

Great selection of firearms. Great staff and very fair prices. Just outside of Crook County so, No Crook County Tax !

Great range located halfway between LaGrange Road and Harlem off of 191st street. It's a great place to shoot - very nice and clean facility. The one that they just opened in Naperville is the exact same way. However, I have found with both places that they are very poorly managed. If I wasn't already a member, I wouldn't come here. The staff that checks people in half the time doesn't know what they're doing. And if you are lucky enough to get someone that does their job, there's usually a long line. Good luck finding a staff member of you want to look at a gun in one of the cases. I came in today, shot on the range for 45 minutes. Came out and started looking around. Wanted to see a gun they had in one of the cases and couldn't find anyone to help me. But on the other side of the store, 4 employees standing around doing nothing. Then, a customer walks in the front door and gets greeted and helped right away despite my standing there. Nope, not again. I will only be back to use the range. read more

Range USA Mokena - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

Horrible customer service. The people there act like they're doing you a favor when we choose to do business with them. They act like it's the other way around. If I would've known how this was an advance I would not have done business with them. I had seven firearms transferred to two of their other facilities and it has been nothing but a headache their manager is extremely rude. When he was asked a question about a section on the transfer application his response was very insulting, snotty, and unprofessional. He then proceeded to tell me what was wrong with me because I asked a question. Quite frankly if it wouldn't have delayed my firearm transfer I would have gone elsewhere. Other than being rude they are extremely overpriced. Being a disabled veteran it is insulting to be treated this way. I do not know how this company isn't business treating people the way that they do. Buyers if you have no option to go elsewhere I would consider it over giving these guys your business. read more

Great place to shoot. New facility with lots of offers and great sales on guns. The only problem I've had is with some of the staff. Last week I received a call about some paperwork they failed to have me sign. Not a big deal, I'll come in and fill it out. When I came in, not only did I stand there while two guys finished their conversation, the one guy had an attitude with me. Listen, customer service means dealing with everyone and anyone with a smile. Regardless how your night, week, or even day is going. As a customer service representative, it is your responsibility to ensure customers enjoy their time in your facility and keep coming back. read more

Signed up for a class there. I realize taking a class during the COVID-19 crisis was a questionable choice, but I was excited to go. Called one day prior to class to confirm it was still happening due to current events. I was told it was still scheduled to take place. The afternoon of the class, 3 hours before it was set to begin, my friend calls there to find out the class was canceled. Absolutely no communication was sent out regarding this. Poor communication from the start. They never answered my multiple online inquiries either. I question the management of this place. read more

Usually go to the Point Blank in Hodgkins..but went here with a friend. Basically the same setup as Hodgkins, store is identical. Employees a tad dense though...had to remind the cashier that I'm just not buying one target for shooting and that he may wish to ring up my reloads. Employees also cleaned the drips of blood off the floor fairly fast leading to the range. Seems someone cut them self while on blood thinners and splotches were all over. Kinda laughed..bad PR to have blood on floor of gun store. read more

There was a staff miscommunication. We called at 3:00 pm and asked if there were lanes open, they said it would be a hour and a half wait. Still disappointed with not shooting due to lack of communication read more

I have been shooting here for over a year and I currently take a class called, "Lady Sure Shots". The class is for women only and includes classroom discussions regarding safety, situational awareness, and shooting techniques. Tammy Ryan is the instructor and is very knowledgeable and keeps the class interesting and fun. After the classroom time is over, there is an included time to shoot on the range. Tammy checks on each student and will give advise and pointers on ways to improve your aim and technique. This class meets once a month. The price is very reasonable and the target is included. This is a very clean facility with good ventilation and very helpful, friendly, employees. read more

Excellent. Informative and friendly staff. Senior range discounts.Gunsmith, training and rentals available.

I had a great experience here. I hadn't shot in years, and I was new to both guns I wanted to try, so I was prepared to be treated like an idiot. Total misconception! The staff was patient, guided me through the basics with respect, answered all of my questions, and were very professional. Safety is obviously the top priority, so they enforce ear/eye protection and good behavior from patrons, which is awesome. Plus the ranges were clean and well-staffed. By the time I left, I felt so much more comfortable with the guns I shot. My hubby and I will be back for sure (date night!). read more

Best range in the area. Prices are more than reasonable. Staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions from novice to challenging expert questions. Very clean, large selection of guns to purchase or rent, and super friendly staff. Lots of open lanes. We had a great time!

I'm a new shooter. I found the facility to be organized and easy to navigate. I was able to quickly register, receive a shooting lane and started sending bullets down range. . A range safety officer was always close by. I rented a gun for my shooting partner which jammed and the range safety officer was immediately accessible to assist. I was also able to quickly switch out that firearm and continue shooting. The lanes were clean and spacious before we started. The bullet-proof glass between lanes was a nice touch. The shelves made it easy to store my supplies and shoot safely. The booths are nice and spacious, easily accommodating me and my shooting partner. I had a great time at this range and I look forward to my next visit. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend this range if you want a great range experience. read more

The facility is great, unfortunately it is poorly managed. They consistent have half a dozen employees doing nothing while there's a 30 min+ line. It takes 5-10 mins to process each customer. Multiply that by the amount of people in line and it adds up quick. Not the first time I've turned around and walked out because of the line. Open more than one register, it's honestly absurd read more

Disappointing. I've shot here before and the range is good and the people were knowledgeable and courteous. Today, 5/27/19, I drove 10 miles to get some 9mm ammo that was on a three day sale. When I got there, two people were helping one customer and four more people were standing in the corner talking. I could not find the sale ammo and stood looking at the four people who looked right at me but just kept on talking. I had to literally attempt to join their foursome before one of them asked if he could help me. I asked about the ammo and was told it was sold out. HOW DO YOU HAVE A THREE DAY SALE WITH TWO DAYS WORTH OF INVENTORY? WHAT MENTAL MIDGET PLANNED THAT? Now there is customer service for you. I used to shoot Point Blank and Eagle Sports. But starting today, Eagle Sports gets all my business. read more

My husband and I visited this range to rent 9mm guns and shoot in their facility. The range was recommended by a gun salesman at Cabela's so that we could try guns before purchase. We weren't greeted by staff. We still waited in line and then were finally told that we would not be allowed in the range with rented guns because it was our first time. Then we were charged $3 to watch a safety video. A woman behind us in line who shoots there often whispered to me that she's never heard of that or seen the rule enforced. She encouraged us to try a different range. The worker did not turn on the safety video and didn't say another word. My husband stopped a range officer who reviewed our receipt and turned on the minute long video. In short, terrible service and generally unwelcoming. The vibe was definitely racial and discriminatory. We won't return. We called Eagle Sports Range in Oak Forest. We were checked in, rented guns, and shooting in the range quickly the same day with great service and technical/handling support. read more

Great place. Extremely clean with good staff. Please don't lose sight of your current customer service. So far, every employee I've encountered has been respectful and helpful. A lot of gun ranges treat their customers like garbage (Yeah, I'm talking about you specifically MegaSports in Plainfield). Please keep up the good work, Point Blank employees! EDIT: I was hoping this place would continue to respect its customers and not treat them disrespectfully. Sadly, they're taking a turn for the worse. 1. If you're an employee and don't know something about a specific firearm, simply admit it and say you'll find out the answer. Don't just make crap up and pretend you know more than the customer simply because you work at a gun shop. Trust me, you have know idea what you're talking about most of the time. These guys behind the counter are getting on that high horse most other gun shops ride. I went in to look at an m&p with a safety. Of course I had to sit through the safeties suck lecture and the only safety you need is between your ears. Please shut up and don't lecture me on what I like. That's not even the point. I own six m&ps. The one we looked at had a safety that was incredibly difficult to engage and disengage. I've never come across one that was that rock solid. I asked to see another one in lieu of the issue with the safety. The employee got all bent out of shape and said they're all like that. I replied no they're not and that I have a ton of experience with them. I said forget it, and said I'd rather not buy from them because of his attitude. 2. The older gentleman range officer with the weird looking mustache. I was shooting in a lane and alternating bullseyes on my target. I shot once and then practiced engaging a new bullseye and so on and so forth. Practicing point shooting. Some of us are beyond the simple skills of shooting once every five minutes and perfectly lining up our sights. My shots were probably around 1.5-2 seconds. He comes up to me and says, "Speed is not your friend when shooting. No rapid firing." Okay, wait, what? First off, since when is speed not your friend in practicing shooting encounters? Secondly, that's not rapid firing. I get no rapid firing in an indoor range, but this guy was ridiculous and rude. It was not by any means, remotely even close to rapid firing. Just another RO on a power trip. Please get it together, Point Blank employees. Your slowly losing my business. read more

Before I went to this facility, I called and spoke with Robert who was extremely polite. He told me when I arrive to ask for him or Charles. I met with Robert who was very patient in showing me the selection of guns they offered. After careful observation, he was honest on telling me that he didn't feel comfortable selling me a gun without me taking a basic gun class. He did allow me to shoot on the range where I was accompanied by another employee who instructed me quite well. After seeing I hit my target all five times, Robert was surprised and felt a little more comfortable in selling me a gun. After showing me the accessories he then advised me to wait until I take the conceal and carry class, where I can receive discounts on my accessories and my gun. I was extremely satisfied with him offering this advice because not only did he take an hour showing me the selections but he didn't make a sell but he offered great advice. It wasn't just about making money, it was about satisfying a future customer. Thanks Robert!! read more

The longer bullet proof glass in the range area is a definite plus, but the gun powder residue is atrocious!!! Every time I leave, my nose and mouth burn; I can smell it days later in the house and have to wash everything I wore. Everything else is top notch there, except for that. A better air filter is definitely needed. read more
