The good: This particular gun store had just about anything you want, and more. The service was very good... to a point.... I will explain that in another paragraph.... I was a long time admirer of Range USA. I was one of those folks who kept going in and didn't buy anything. Until two things happened: Firstable, My wonderful wife granted permission that I could buy whatever I wanted. ( Don't laugh , some of you are still begging...! ) Secondable, I had to know exactly what I wanted to buy... Range USA made that easy. So I bought what I wanted. The only thing that I thought was crazy was the fact that NO magazines came with the rifle I purchased. I thought that was strange ( as in I thought at least one magazine came with any rifle purchased...). I guess I was Wrong. But Okay. The second thing most have to understand is, in case you didn't know...ALL gun purchases have to pass through the FBI database check before you get anything that fires a bullet and was made after 1893. I am being very careful and respectful about this. FBI and ATF & E don't play. Expect to wait a bit. This was my first time buying firearms in Kentucky. So I had to wait. It's okay, I didn't do anything wrong, so I had nothing to worry about. I have what I bought and I'm happy with that. I did get rid of my membership though. I'm too busy. If I want to shoot I call and see what is available. Not a problem. So. Range is a nice place. I will go back. If I am allowed. read more

1 star for continually wasting my time. If federal gun laws weren't bad enough these guys invented a bunch of other arbitrary rules. Want a rifle? You'll need Kentucky ID or a state bordering it. I took a girl to the shooting range and they denied her entry because of what country she was born in. I gave them one more shot. Submitted the paperwork for an AR-10 then had an employee cancel everything because he heard I'm a permanent resident and not a citizen. Bad business. read more

This place was great. The staff were all super nice ESPECIALLY the safety officer. He chatted with me each time it was my boyfriend's turn and gave me a lot of great advice. The gun selection for purchasing is really nice as well as the selection of other tools like gun safes, holsters, loaders, ammo and a lot more. Wish they had more holsters and maybe some apparel and stickers but let's face it.... that's not what they do and I can't dock them for my apparel and sticker addictions. One of the associates was particularly great and would give us advice on better priced options. He wasn't afraid to save us money! The range was clean, the targets had a good variety and the prices on range use were fair. We will absolutely be back for both purchases AND target practice. So glad I found this place! read more

I don't get the other reviews that complain about customer service. We visited for the first time this week as new gun buyers, and received excellent service. Special shoutout to Jason, who was very gracious and expert as he showed us a number of different options that matched what we were looking for, and did not try to up sell us on more expensive items. He and another associate answered all of our questions and helped us find the right accessories. When I went back a few days later I worked with someone else who treated me with the same service and respect. I've been looking for a specific firearm for around two months now. I called last night and they put it on hold for me until I came in a few hours later to get it. The entire process took maybe 30 minutes. There was a little trouble/confusion surrounding a gift card I was using that took a few extra minutes. Zane's excellent customer service definitely exceeded my expectations. He was extremely helpful and friendly. He made everything right and took care of me. Extremely helpful staff!! As soon as I walked in, everyone was extremely friendly with smiles for days. I didn't know which gun I wanted to rent, so I asked the guy at the counter to pick one for me. He picked the Glock 19. I shot two magazines with that one and I loved it. There was another guy in the range answering questions about that pistol for me and informed me I could try another one if I wanted. Apparently with a rental, you can try out different ones. The next one Mr. Smiley Counter Guy picked for me was the H&K vp9. I loved this one so much, I asked to buy one!! It runs at about $675 but they didn't have any in stock. Bought a Taurus TX22 to shoot at the range with my wife. Got an email From Rural King that had the gun for 249.99. I called the Florence store and ask about a price adjustment or if anything could be done. I was told NOPE. I know guns are not something you return but was thinking a store credit or something it was a just a day differance between buying the gun and seeing the sale price at RK. Pretty good selection of firearms given the situation in this country right now, and I'd say their pricing is comparable to most around. As far as customer service with purchasing, it's hit or miss with employee knowledge on specific gun types, but that's the same at any gun shop. I'm very happy with the shooting range. They do have a safety officer present at all times, and everyone there is friendly and courteous. The range itself goes out to 25 yards, and they will let you shoot a shotgun if you have slugs. Never had any issues with having to wait to get a lane either. The location is tucked away a little on Mall Rd across from the mall, but is convenient to get to if you're n NKY. I'm a member of the range, which saves a lot of money if you shoot regularly. Not the most modern target hangers, but has the yardage marked on the floor, and works as well as any. Iike any range, I'd recommend going a few times before becoming a member, but I'd recommend this range to anyone. read more

Ignored by at least three employees while shopping today. This was not because they were busy; there seemed to be more employees than customers at the time. I was serious about purchasing a specific handgun, but I will not beg for help. There are too many other gun stores in the area to put up with this. I just took my business to Triggers. After contacting their customer service department, they offered to make this experience "right" by offering 5% off what I tried to unsuccessfully buy last visit. They believe this is an appropriate discount for a previously loyal customer, one who was completely ignored by their employees. They seem to expect that I would forget their unprofessional behavior and make a return trip to their store for a whopping 5% discount. (According to IRS mileage guidelines, another roundtrip to their store would cost me almost as much as their offered discount.) By way of comparison, Dunham's is currently offering $50 off the purchase of any handgun 499.99 and above. This is actually a bigger discount than what PBR offered me after screwing me over. Have no "confidence" in SPB. read more

I wanted to go to the range a couple times before giving it a rating and I've gotta say, every time I've gone the staff has been helpful, courteous and polite. I've taken my AR-15 there a handful of times and spent a couple hours and sent a few hundred rounds down range and it was nothing but a pleasant experience. I recently started getting into handguns and they've been great about talking me through my options. I've rented a Springfield Armory XD9 and Glock 19 and I've been extremely pleased with both. They've walked me through the proper way of loading, shooting and keeping myself and others safe along the way. I wish I could give them 10 stars, they're just that great! read more

The facility is well stocked with some quality firearms and accessories. I was impressed they had ammo in stock at this time prior to the 2020 election and virus scare. The crew was friendly and helpful. My disappointment came when I asked for some range time. I was notified I was not allowed to shoot the day you fill out the documentation unlike the many other indoor ranges I've been at in the USA. Additionally, a year ago I asked if I could rent a pistol I was interested in when I was in KY last year. Notified at that time they couldn't because I needed to shoot with my own firearm for the first time. NOTHING is stated on their website about these policies. SPB needs to let customers know on their website what they expect of their clientele. read more

Horrible customer service. Was trying to find a new air gun to purchase, as not many stores in my area have them. I figured as much that this firearm store would be the same as a hunting depot and would carry various alternatives to lethal firearms. It was my mistake that I didn't know about the establishment didn't carry air powered guns, but the salesperson I called was rude and literally hung up on me mid sentence. I went to the Florence Ky store last week. They didn't let me buy a gun because I'm from Mexico. But I am permanent resident and have a green card to be here. But according to them, it's the law to not sell to Mexicans. They refused to change their mind until enough people messaged and called that they were wrong. The ATF and an attorney said they were wrong. They tried to apologize about their poor employee training by offering a gun at employee discount. I wasn't interested in that because I don't want to put my money into that store. They also said they would better train people there. I hope they do. But there are better gun stores to buy from don't discriminate. I hope no one else ever has this problem there. Racism is real. Please speak up if this ever happens to you. read more

My 18 yr old son bought a gun here last night, was given a free hour on their range so decided to try it out. The gun would not fire or eject so he came home to oil it thinking it would fix the problem. It still didn't work so he tried to return it today. He was told to refer to his receipt which said "all sales final". Basically, was told he bought a $650 paperweight. Found out we need to spend another $150 to fix a "new gun". The salesman took advantage of a young gun enthusiast who saved his own money to buy his first gun. Never going back. read more

Have been there several times, bought a couple of guns there, but it seems like the atmosphere has changed since opening. The range is nice, but it is only useful if you want to shoot like a beginner. very slow, methodical shots. No double tap, no reload drills, etc. Was told I was shooting too fast, whatever that is supposed to mean. All shots were in the 10 ring or the head of the target. Was told if I kept shooting "too fast" I would have to leave. Other issues I have had recently were lying staff members. About prices on different guns, even when showing them prices from other places. A lot of wannabe's working there that come off as pricks and trying to show what they know, but this 21 year Army combat vet, firearms instructor will never darken their door again. My first time at the store today. I wanted to shoot the new M&P9 2.0 that I had recently purchased. The check in process for the range for a brand new shooter/customer was quick and easy. OUT OF TOWNERS THOROUGHLY ENJOY 1st TIME SHOOTING EXPERIENCE: My son, an out of towner, was a young first time shooter. He had no experience and was excited to shoot a gun for the first time. The staff ensured his experience was safe and enjoyable for him and for us as spectators. Four of us were able to go behind the glass with our goggles and ear protection and truly enjoy the experience with him. They gave him loading and safety instructions and there was a Safety Officer there the entire time which was nice and gave us a sense of ease especially for me as a Mom. He did well and was treated with kindness and respect. He learned a lot from the knowledgeable staff. It was an outstanding experience for us all. We will be back on our next visit to Florence Y'all! read more

This review is for the N. Kentucky facility. My father approached me after purchasing a Groupon for this local business to join him on a Saturday afternoon for a basic handgun course. I had always been interested in learning how to shoot at a target, but never felt comfortable at the thought of handling a gun without some solid instruction first. This class provided just that. It was 3 hours of instruction on how guns work, how to grip them, use them safely, etc. The course was then followed by 1 hour of target practice. My only point of improvement for the class itself would be more time on how to grip the gun, and how to shoot. This part was rushed through at the end and I left feeling uneasy heading over to target practice. No worries though, our instructor continued to be hands on and informative, making sure we all felt completely safe before shooting. I'd also like to point out that the class times offered aren't the most convenient (ours was 4-8pm on a Saturday) so be prepared to work your schedule around the class if the basic course is important to you. The rest of the Point Blank staff was very welcoming; even the manager popped in to introduce himself to the class. When choosing which gun to rent for target practice (included with our groupon--awesome!), the staff were helpful and informative allowing me to make a selection I felt safe with. Considering it's a gun, safety is KEY. Target practice was fun and they have safety officers in each room keeping an incredibly close watch on everyone. It never felt dangerous, which is good. I was shocked at how packed this place was between 4 and 8 on Saturday. Clearly people enjoy shooting as a hobby. I'm not sure I'll be returning, given that shooting isn't for me, it's not a skill I'm looking to perfect, and I have no intentions to purchase a gun. However, I am glad I went and took the course, because I have an appreciation for the level of skill it takes to operate a gun safely. read more

The staff have always been very helpful answering questions from a novice like me and even showed me first hand how to fire a few weapons in their range. Is one of the worst places to buy a gun I'll put one in layaway they cannot locate it in their warehouse I'll put down 20% on a 45 70 and it's not a be in their computer as it's supposed to be it is supposed to be mandatory for him to put it into the computer so beware buying from point-blank range they rip you off I lost $100 on the staff no help and was very rude will never shop there again and I would advise you to do the same and this site can pay to have your reviews altered so that goes to show you they are crookedI will continue to post on this site until something is done about my gunPeabody's gun shop is a lot better read more
