Once I attended the 7-hour straight training (8 hours if the attendees opt for a long break to eat) my confidence was high due to the gun education I gained and my fear of gun disappeared because I know what i'm doing. A lot of people will tell you that the concealed carry seminar is long and boring! Yes it's long but it didn't bore me at all. Jeff's class is very interesting, I learned a lot of things that I didn't know before. The class that I attended was a small one and it's worth it, the interaction with the attendees and instructor was a good one - questions were answered appropriately and we were able to practice with the computer simulated shooting prior to going to the shooting range. The practice was fun, it's hands-on in a very safe environment. The computer simulated practice will help you prepare for the real shooting at the firing range. Jeff will let you know what you missed doing, and this will prepare you prior to shooting the real gun! I was nervous at the firing range since it's my first taste of handling and shooting a real gun. But once the first 2 bullets were fired, the succeeding bullets are fun to fire and you kinda get the slight recoil of the gun - it's not that bad! Jeff is very professional, he's straight to the point when he's doing his class, he listens and he knows when to move on to the next subject making sure we don't stay on a certain topic too long. Bottomline, the education on gun safety and firing that I learned from Jeff with "Not Today Firearm Training" is worth it & I highly recommend it because knowledge took my fear of handling the gun!

We then chose a 9mm GLOCK for the gun rental, 200 rounds of 9mm 115 grain Luger ammunition, and a silhouette target. I provided "eyes & ears" for each of us. Total for all this and 2 hours of range time was approximately ~$120. My friend paid because I wasn't shooting, just coaching. My friends HAD A BLAST and REALLY ENJOYED learning how to shoot a pistol. Neither had experience with a pistol before and soon they were "all in the black" on a target ~10 feet downrange. I was a long time admirer of Range USA. I was one of those folks who kept going in and didn't buy anything. Until two things happened: Firstable, My wonderful wife granted permission that I could buy whatever I wanted. ( Don't laugh , some of you are still begging...! ) Secondable, I had to know exactly what I wanted to buy... Range USA made that easy. So I bought what I wanted. The only thing that I thought was crazy was the fact that NO magazines came with the rifle I purchased. I thought that was strange ( as in I thought at least one magazine came with any rifle purchased...). I guess I was Wrong. But Okay. The second thing most have to understand is, in case you didn't know...ALL gun purchases have to pass through the FBI database check before you get anything that fires a bullet and was made after 1893. I am being very careful and respectful about this. FBI and ATF & E don't play. Expect to wait a bit. This was my first time buying firearms in Kentucky. So I had to wait. It's okay, I didn't do anything wrong, so I had nothing to worry about. I have what I bought and I'm happy with that. I did get rid of my membership though. I'm too busy. If I want to shoot I call and see what is available. Not a problem. So. Range is a nice place. I will go back. If I am allowed.

After paying for 4 consecutive months up till March 2025, the owner once stated that I hadn't paid since Dec 2025. Looking back now, it obvious they had no idea what was going on with their memberships. Im glad I printed my receipts & have proof of payments. As of today 5-12-2025..... my debit card is pending a monthly charge from Hammer Down Range. This payment will be disputed & stopped...I may also pursue theft charges for their ignorance and disregard for us paying customers. If anything they owe all their members a refund, We dont owe Hammer Down anything.
