I took a group of friends to the shooting range for my birthday and couldn't ask for a better experience! A few weeks prior, I called Shooters and inquired about some information for renting group lanes. I had a list of novice questions which the clerk answered thoroughly. The man I spoke with was friendly, patient, and helpful in planning my event. It was my first time shooting a gun, as was it for most of the folks in my party. Only two of my friends had experience with firearms. When several of us arrived at the shop in dresses and bows in our hair, it was clear we would need some training. The manager (Tim? He looked like a Tim.) patiently walked us through the process of filling out paperwork, reading the rules, and selecting a gun and bullets. I really enjoyed the way Tim handled our group. It was like talking to Dad about guns: direct and serious, but able to include some witty comments that made our group laugh and relax. As we descended into the basement-level shooting range, Tim said, "If you need anything, just come up and get me." Nice. The range itself is hot (from all those guns being fired). Twelve lanes line the concrete basement, with two people allowed in each lane. We shared guns and took turns trading off between lanes, getting to test out different models: - .22 Handgun. Great for beginners. Easy to use. No kickback. - .38 Revolver. Easy to load, just like the old western pistols with a spinning barrel. Hard to aim. Rough kickback. - .45 Handgun. Police-style gun. Medium kickback. Will tear a mean hole in your zombie. Shooters has a great target selection, from your standard body outline to skeletons, criminals, and our favorite: zombies. They also have targets that are black, and when you shoot them, the bullet holes make florescent colors. A half-hour of range time is ideal, as you go through bullets pretty quick and your arms get tired. Since we had a large group with two doing the training, we booked an hour of time which was sufficient. If you're inexperienced (or have an inexperienced group) and need help, I'd recommend an hour. Prices vary depending on the ammo you need, but expect to spend around $50.00. - $5.00 admission - $14.00 per lane (one hour with 2 people per lane) - $8.00 gun rental fee - Ammo is around $20.00 for 50 - 100 bullets, depending on the gun. - Hearing and eye protection provided at no additional cost. Once finished, Tim asked the newbies how we did, and my friends proudly presented their zombie targets riddled with bullet holes. Just like dear ol' dad, Tim beamed with delight. He gave us laminated membership cards to Shooters (included in the $5.00 admission.) He also handed us coupons for our next visit. Oh yes, Tim. We'll be back. I love to shoot and I believe in personal protection, so when I discovered The Well Armed Woman's (TWAW) local chapter meets at Shooters for instruction and shooting, I was a happy girl. We met there with one hour of discussion that was informative, relative for the season, interesting, and funny. The room was packed. So great to meet everyone. After the one hour discussion, we went out to sign waivers of liability, get our range card, buy a $1-2 target, put headphones and eyewear on and head downstairs. They have lots of targets to choose from. I like zombies since it's The Walking Dead season. You hook your target on the hooks and switch it to go down range. All indoor range. Follow the rules and keep safety first. Shoot away. They also have many guns you can rent, which I may do one day, but for now I'll just shoot the ones I brought. You bring a range bag with weapon unloaded unless you have your conceal and carry permit. The employee was helpful and nice. There were plenty of lanes, so no waiting, which was great. Sweep the brass forward onto range when your done. It was a lot of fun! read more

Shooters has a lot of great things going for it. They are pretty much the best indoor range in the area. It's large, open, well lit, well ventilated, and unlike most everywhere else, you can use rifles here. The folks here limit ammunition by fps (the speed of the bullet) and most common hunting rifle calibers are cool. This is AMAZING. So far as I've found, nobody else does this. And that's the one reason -the ONLY reason- they get their third star. They also have some really lousy things going for it, that totally sour the experience. To whit: they're assholes. All genralizations are false (including this one), but in general, there are two types of gun stores/target ranges: the ones run by old soldiers (and their hangers-on), and the ones run by old cops (and their hangers-on). Shooters is run by old cops, and they treat their customers like perps. They're overbearing, and they're outright rude. They write off the first as their "dedication to safety" -but it looks awfully capricious from the customer side of the counter. And if you complain about their attitude, they tell you to shut up or get the fuck out. I mean that literally. You will rarely visit this establishment and not see a customer with a legitimate grievance being invited to leave. They have you over a barrel if you want to shoot a rifle indoors in this city, and they know it. Here's my take. Shooters has my business for longarms, because I can't give it to anyone else. That means I'm here at least once a season. But I will NEVER again shoot a handgun here, or buy guns or ammunition from them. read more

Shooters is great for people of all skills and comfort levels. I was brand new to the world of fire arms and they were able to take me through education classes to get me comfortable with a fire arm - to see if I was even interested in owning one or pursuing a concealed carry permit. They answered (and still do) all my "stupid" questions and help me out without making me feel inferior. I don't go in a heck of a lot, but they know me by name and always make me feel comfortable - which is good because a building full of guns and people with guns makes me nervous. I'll be honest, I'm glad they are "assholes" because let's face it - a gun range isn't the place where I'd like to tolerate any sort of odd or cocky behavior or attitude. If these guys don't trust you - I most likely wouldn't and certainly don't want to be standing next to you with a loaded gun. I've been going to Shooters for a couple of years. I go about every three months just to remember how to fire my weapon and make sure if I ever need it, I won't be totally useless in remembering how to use it. I've been taking my girls (14 & 11) also. They are now comfortable with it and have no problems. They aren't treated any less important than the grown men. I like that. If some idiot kid ever has a gun around them, I know my girls will be fearful but also able to unload it and make it as safe as possible. That's why I didn't mind recommending Shooters when a non-shooting friend asked me about having her birthday party there. Shooters is serious but they also don't mind introducing novices to the world of firearms - as long as those novices aren't jokers. You are holding a death dispensing instrument, afterall. Even if it is just some fun at the range. The guy behind the counter couldn't have been more pitch perfect in communicating a relaxed attitude but making sure everyone knew this was serious business. There were six of us with most needing range cards, lane rentals, gun rental and ammo purchasing. There was a bit of confusion but not much. I'm going to have to start going more often. read more

No problems here at all. The range was fine, everything worked as expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. My wife's first shot took out one of the target lines... But they just kind of smiled and rolled their eyes. I guess it was beginner's luck, first time she fired a handgun, lol. Prices were reasonable, they had a fair selection of gun accessories like cleaning kits, gun cases, hearing/eye protection - whatever you need to get started. Super helpful and knowledgeable. These are gun people who like to answer questions about guns. Have not been into the range but it looked pretty nice to me. They have on-line gun shows too so keep an eye on the Facebook page. I have owned a gun for many years, but only took it to the range a few times. I don't have a ton of confidence, which is what brought me shooters. Thankfully, they seem to have a lot of patience for those of us on the steep part of the learning curve. I plan on buying a little hunting land this year and I looking forward to learning how to safely and effectively utilize the property. read more

I have to admit when I read these negative and downright nasty reviews about Shooter's Supply I wonder if the folks who allegedly had a bad experience there were in fact living in an alternate reality and went to a Shooter's Supply in another dimension LOL. When I moved back home to KY to retire I went down to Shooter's to check out not only a place to shoot but also a store where I could buy firearms from folks I felt comfortable with. I made friends with Alex and found him to be pleasant, respectful and friendly. How people found anything other than a welcome committee down there is news to me. I enjoy shopping for and purchasing firearms there as well as going down into the range now and then to keep proficient. I always feel welcome there. I stop by every 10 days or so just to see what's new that's for sale..I am always greeted with a welcoming attitude..how anybody gets allegedly disrespected there seems to me to be hard to believe...I'm a pretty darn good judge of character and I just don't see that...I can only surmise that a customer who has a negative experience there must have crossed the line in some way...I have never seen Alex or anyone behind that counter demonstrate any kind of disrespect to anyone in my presence..and I'm down there often.....jus sayin'! Good venue for firearm enthusiasts. The range is inside and well lit and in good condition. They do allow rifle which is nice since another range I reviewed does not. The shop is so so. The over all selection isn't great but they do have a good selection of powder, ammo and magazines. The prices are what you would expect for a gun shop that also has a range... expensive. The staff there aren't overly friendly but were willing to answer all the dumb questions I could throw at them. One thing to keep in mind is the shop is right above the range so sometimes you hear ricochets from people that have no concept of muzzle control. I find it concerning but I was assured the ceiling would shrug off gunfire.... I don't think that should dock them points only because it is a structure thing not a business thing...but thought it worth mentioning. read more

This is by far my favorite range. The range itself itsnt super fancy but I love it. I personally don't like the presence of a range master when I am trying to sight in a new scope or just shooting for fun. My husband and I go on dates here frequently. The ranges does get a little chilly in the winter so bring a hoodie. I love the staff they are always super helpful and nice. read more

I have been going to Shooters for over 4 years now. After the first year I purchased a yearly membership at an unbelievable low price. The staff and owner has always been very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection and very good prices. If they do not have something they can order it for you. The range itself is always clean and is well monitored so that I have never felt unsafe. Any unsafe behavior is dealt with immediately and appropriately. I would highly recommend Shooters. read more

Recently moved to the area and was looking for a good range... THIS PLACE AIN'T IT. I took my business elsewhere, in this case to Mark's over in Erlanger, for a fantastic and positive experience. Attacked verbally by the manager (owner?) as soon as I walked in the door carrying a .22 repeater in a range carry, was told that weapons couldn't be brought inside w/out being in a case -- "the sign is on the door!" Ok, but it's not on their website and I researched that before going, overlooked the sign on the door upon entering -- everyone does that occasionally. Then asked if I could wrap it in a blanket... yeah, because the DISGUISING a weapon is just as effective as SECURING it. I said no, was then told loudly enough for everyone in the gun shop to hear how anyone w/ a lick of common sense wouldn't walk in to a gun shop w/ a weapon "at the ready", that his concern was anyone else seeing it and trying to "go all John Wayne, if you get shot who are you going to sue? The shooter or me?" Really? Seriously? If his customers are that unstable, then this isn't the place I want to buy a firearm, let alone use the range and shoot. I understand it's his rules, but to wrap his concerns for a safe environment in his worry for litigation demonstrates a level of situational unawareness that speaks volumes about his character. Here some unsolicited advice for the manager/owner: 1) Don't ever question the common sense of anyone so loudly that everyone around can hear the speaker. And don't raise your voice when speaking w/ a customer. That indicates that you made what in some cases can be a dangerous mistake of mistaking a person's good-nature for weakness. That you did this w/ a new, unfamiliar customer is poor customer service reinforces a perception that this isn't the place to take business. 2) I'm a 20yr active duty Army combat veteran, I'd already scanned the entire shop on the way thru the door, and already ID'd the potential threats to the safety of me and my young son. 3) "At the ready" implies a weapon controlled by both hands w/ the ability to shot and move. I was carrying it as if on a range, barrel clear of all folks, left hand on the forestock (up and down), and nothing near the trigger. 4) I didn't learn my weapons safety in the back woods of Kentucky, rather learned it from trained professionals and had my reflexes tested by people trying to kill me simply because I'm an American w/ my boots on foreign soil. 5) Arbitrarily enforced rules come across that way. Securing long-guns? Put it on your website, not just on your door. By the time we got to your establishment, it was too late to secure it in a case. But you allow customers to carry concealed in your facility? That, my friend, is called a dichotomy. Selective enforcement of rules is just as bad as arbitrary enforcement. 6) Your actions ensured that I won't ever return to your facility, nor recommend your business to anyone... but, I already told you all of this before I walked out your door. Shooters is probably the best indoor shooting range in the Cincinnati area, and it's a pretty nice gun shop too. They have a huge selection of pistols and a smaller yet substantial amount of rifles for sale. They also keep a large stock of accessories, including magazines, ammunition, holsters, optics, and cleaning equipment. Their gun prices are fairly low for the most part. You won't find prices as cheap as some of the online gun retailers, but they have good customer service that makes up for it. They're more than happy to show you any of the guns that you're curious about. Their shooting range boasts 12 lanes of 25 yard pistol and rifle shooting, and is well kept. The lighting is good, but could be better. At some distances (especially 25 yards), it could be better lit. There's plenty of tape to hang targets with and lots of room for range bags behind the firing line. The temperature stays fairly mild, even in the winter, and the ventilation isn't lacking at all. There is no range officer on the firing line, but they keep a close eye on people shooting via CCTV. The staff most certainly does not tolerate anyone that isn't following safety rules, which is nice. The range prices are decent, but not the cheapest around, but it's still a good value. They'll also provide you with eye and ear protection for free if you didn't bring your own. There are also guns to rent, but you must buy the ammunition on site to use in rental guns. Shooters also offers CCDW classes, and is where I took my class. The instructor was friendly and thorough, and very safety-oriented, and I would recommend their CCDW class to anyone in the area looking for such a class. The price for the class is comparable to anyone else in town. While it might be a bit out of the way for most people in the Cincinnati area, Shooters is the only nice place around for indoor shooting. read more

It seems like every time I come here they place more and more restrictions on what type of caliber and ammo you can shoot. I drove 30 miles to be told my 10mm was too high velocity but .357 and .44 Magnums were fine. I will definitely be going to Point Blank in Blue Ash for now on. read more

Not a bad range, pretty cold in the winter though! Decent lighting and simple lane stalls. Prices are reasonable on range time and some accessories but most stuff had a good mark up (past other local stores and ranges) staff isn't super friendly all the time, feels more like Walmart sometimes then a gun shop. read more
