I hired/found Raneworks on thumbtack for a logo designer. Out of the four (4) designers I decided to hire Raneworks after reading the reviews on Yelp and low price ($150). We exchange emails to communicate and filled out the questionnaire form same day (Day 1). Since then I haven't heard from them for four (4) consecutive days (figured they were busy drafting up the designs...). So I decided to email them to see where or how things were going. Apparently, he said "designer is sick and was out for the week..". Angry as I was I kept calm and thought "guy is sick and needed his rest no biggie" At least keep me inform about it. Well, the very next day. They had the first set of designs ready and sent via email. Excited I was I opened the attachment and was amazed how fast and good they draft the designs in a day. Five (5) seconds into it immediately I recognize all four (4). Suspicious, I Googled " Cleaning service logo designs" (clicked* image tab) and sure enough it was a Copy & Paste from 99designs.com. A FREE design!...Free (A $150 profit made by a free design...nice). I asked Raneworks if it was but before receiving their answer. My research found the only difference between their Copy&Paste and 99designs was the Color. I then fired them and moved on to the next designer. Before I do delete Raneworks for good or reconsider their service. I wanted to break this so called "Perfect" reviews. I'm straightforward and honest in what I do and believe customers should know what their getting for paid service like this. Beware. Always do your research before taking the next step. P.S. - I don't know why Raneworks removed themselves from "thumbtack" after my review. No one is Perfect. Should've taken it as a mistake learned. Also I don't regret this. I have used RaneWorks for over a decade for a variety of IT related functions in both the tourist and construction industries. The owner Ted takes a personal interest in our company and closely works with us even when he has staff doing a particular project. I've had them do web design from basic "brochure-ware" to shopping cart cable sites with and without them hosting it. RaneWorks has typically done all of the SEO and on-line marketing of the sites. They create regular e-newsletters to existing customers and prospective ones. I've recently added a social media on-line reputation component to our agreement. The results from this are very encouraging and we'll continue to develop that program. Since we have been with RaneWorks for so long, they were a natural for us when we needed to reconfigure and expand our company computer network. Ted and his staff established and maintain the network which includes a couple dozen users in 3 separate offices and several other remote users who work securely from home. Ted assisted in server selection and pricing along with cloud backup. (He likely won't appreciate my mentioning that they do our PBX phone system management too, but they do a great job with it despite that not being their focus.) It is indicative of the service that we get from them. They are not inexpensive, but we feel that we get more than they are contracted to provide. The service is a great value. Our business can't survive without a functioning network, phones and website. I don't want to spend more than I need to, and can't afford anything less. read more
