Have sent now 3 e-mail on getting regular maintenance done on a used boat I purchase late in 2019…read moreand to this day have not had any response from them. Looks like I'm going to Arnie's in Lawrence.

I will stick with just the facts: 1) Called Nov 2015 for…read moreWinterization Quote: $260 2) Dropped boat off Nov 2015 for winterization. Requested they look at a few other things and call with a price BEFORE proceeding with other work. They were released to carry on with the winterization. 3) Mechanic proceeded with all (winterization and others) work WITHOUT calling me to discuss the additional work. 4) Mechanic called to let me know boat was done (Dec 2015) and my total was now ~$460 5) Talked to Larry and explained that this was unacceptable, he understood and we agreed we would work out the details once I came to pick the boat up. 6) Additional fiberglass work was identified stemming from a previous accident covered by an insurance claim. 7) Insurance company coordinated work with Lakeside and agreed upon a price to preform the work. 8) Work was performed and I was called to say the boat was ready for pick up (Jan 2016). 9) Arrived to pick the boat up. Told my total was now ~$570. 10) Asked for an itemized print out of the charges. I identified that I was being charged 100% of the sales tax for the insurance work on the fiberglass work portion of my bill. I explained that I had already paid my deductible and wasn't responsible for any additional charges on the fiberglass work. Response from Tom: "Insurance companies don't pay sales tax". 11) After tense discussions, manhours were removed from the bill for the additional unauthorized work associated with the winterization and sales tax was removed from the parts ONLY on the fiberglass work. Final bill was ~$430. Further, part of the additional work requested was to troubleshoot why the trim switch on the throttle was non-operable, stern auxiliary switch was still operable. They stated they had installed a butt connector to correct the electrical issue. After repairs were completed and I picked up my boat, the trim switch on the throttle is still non-operable and the stern auxiliary trim switch is now ALSO non-operable. I will have to engage another marine services provided to correct the issue. I don't feel this was handled in a professional manner at all and I will not be returning for additional service or purchases of any kind.
