I am a medical doctor with 50 years experience. I am prostate cancer survivor and have prostate…read moreenlargement. I have been under his supervision for over two years. He has tried to pressure me to perform a prostate biopsy because my PSA continued to rise. Prostate enlargement will elevate PSA. PSA does not reliably diagnose cancer. My annual Prostate MRIs never have shown any return of cancer. He never discussed starting me on medication to reduce the size of the prostate and to lower the PSA. Another Urologist immediately put me on finasteride and my PSA normalized. Nowadays doctors make much more money doing biopsies than office visits. That is the business of medicine. Two friends recently had prostate biopsies at the same clinic instead of a safe prostate MRI exam. Fortunately, neither biopsy showed cancer. However, one nearly died of sepsis from the biopsy and the other has MRSA prostatitis for the rest of his life. Both complications were completely avoidable.

Basically, every time I saw him, his attitude was, 'why are you wasting my time, you could see a PA for this'. Before I moved to Reno from a larger town, I saw multiple urologists for the same reasons I saw Dr. McCormack (kidney stones), and none of them dismissed me or urged me to see at PA instead of them. Also, in the years I saw Dr. McCormack, he never once performed a DRE. I received DREs from prior doctors at a younger age annually. And annually from my new urologist in Carson City. Check the standard of care, this may not meet it? PS - Urology Nevada is horrible and worse than Dr. McCormack, of which he is a part and presumably a decisionmaker and part of management / ownership, so he has to take responsibility for the poor service of everyone who works for or with him here. See my separate review on Yelp and see all the horrible Yelp & Google reviews written by other patients. Also, you have to fight with the front desk every time because they will auto-book you with a PA instead of with Dr. McCormack for your next appointment. After leaving a scathing message on their portal, I was contacted and told they have a no tolerance policy! After being lied to by support staff. I was told they had made numerous attempts to contact a World Wide Corporation with no response back. I immediately called the number I had given my doctors assistant and was immediately answered by a live person who took down Urology Nevada's number. Within ten minutes I received a call form the company I was told would not call back saying my meds were on their way. After two weeks of excuses and lies I fixed the problem in minutes. After all this someone from Urology called back to try to explain it was not their fault. This excuse was that the Major Medical Company had a non working number on their website. The same number that I called earlier. It took me a half hour to solve the problem Urology Nevada over two weeks of excuses, lies and threats to drop me as a patient for telling them that they were inept! I am an easy going tolerant person up until I am lied too! Instead of calling to say the problem was fixed, I get a call instead to blame others for their own ineptness. Dealing with this medical group is an absolute nightmare! It gets even better! I was scheduled for a same day surgery. After being prepared for my surgery including an IV started I am told someone only reserved the operating room for an hour! I was then told they would do the best they can, but I would need to come back to finish the procedure. ​Then there is the time I tried by phone to get a hold of my doctor about a problem after surgery. After getting no assistance nor a call back I was forced to seek help at the emergency room. In the ER I finally get a call from a pa, after telling them I was in the ER the call was dropped and never got a call back! While I was in the hospital I missed an appointment with my doctor for a follow up, get this because it is hilarious. When I get home I have not one, but two certified letters telling me I missed an appointment and a bill for a missed appointment fee! STAY AWAY from this madness. I have filed a complaint with the Nevada State Medical Board, my insurance company as well as Medicare!

Since caught early and a low level cancer, one choice was to actively monitor it, which at first seemed like a reasonable option. The thought of cancer inside of me weighed heavily so I changed my mind and opted for surgery. Dr Suttle answered all questions and concerns describing the procedure along with risks and side affects. It's been about six weeks since surgery and everything went smoothly with no complications! Still dealing with some minor side affects but nothing serious. I think Reno is lucky to have Dr Suttle, an excellent and experienced urologist.
