Chicken soup
Damaris R.

The best chicken soup I have ever tried... very delicious. The attention here is so amazing, the people treat you so nicely like if you are family. The ambiance is also good many people coming in at lunch time. This little place is a jewel. Recommend it at 100 % the person who attended me is the sweetest and very very attentive makes sure your happy the whole time. Dayami was the person who helped me.

This little cafeteria tucked away in the industrial district of Howard deserves far more reviews and recognition based on the fact that their staff is sweet and helpful, their prices are low (they're pretty much giving away food) and the plates although unrefined and downright homey are the best your money and the ever thirsty for "nostalgic blind abuela food bug" can get. These people are so oldschool, they offer Boniato as a side. Boiled Yams, straight up. Don't bother looking at the menu, the ladies behind the counter will let you know what the specials are. Considering the Howard/The Falls area is chock full o' corporate eateries and the Latin Housewives of Pinecrest have limited choices i'd say this little off the beaten path joint would be interesting- who know's maybe you could spark up a convo with a mechanic or some other blue collar gentleman, ladies. I discovered Swai with these folks. It's a Vietnamese white fish that these guys serve any style you'd like although i opt out of the Badia Mojo seasoning they seem to love here- but thats just me, Mojo away if you please. Their Cuban Coffee, aka Coladas, aka liquid crack is a winner. These Cubanitas know how to beat sugar and make the perfect cafecito froth and that in itself is a merit. Their "sangweeshes" look and smell great (think Enriqueta's)

Food was very good but the place smelled of bug spray, which was a real turn off

Breakfast menu sample, they always have daily lunch specials

For less than $9 out-the-door you can get the best pork sandwich (AKA pan con lechon) in Miami. This pork sandwich is off-the-bone from freshly cooked garlic pork shoulder that is chopped up with chicharron mixed in, so that you get the crunch at almost every bite. They put about a pound of lechon (pork) into a footlong Cuban bread roll and press it. It's very special! They have other foods that you can consider. They have combos, known in Miami as a "Completa", that include rice, beans, plantains and the main meat dish. As you'll be able to see in my pictures, today they had Fricase de pollo (chicken fricassee) and carne con papa (beef stew). A combo plate of either one of those will weigh close to 5 lbs. No kidding. You can always take it home and leave some for later, or just split it with someone else. The seating inside, however, isn't great. There's a counter with high chairs behind the ordering station. I mostly see people taking it home or eating it in the car. There's also a good amount of people just devouring these sandwiches standing up around the parking lot. The inside is not really worth eating in. The service here is fast and attentive. The employees are very courteous and professional. They earn their tips!
