The Sun Kings Acoustic Duo were great!
Chet D.

Had a wonderful evening recently at Rancho Nicasio for a concert on the lawn. We had purchased tickets in advance and showed up just minutes before show time. We were able to get 2 seats at a table not far from the outdoor stage where the Sun Kings Acoustic Duo performed. These two artists played and sang as if Paul McCartney and John Lennon were right in front of us. It was a wonderful evening with really great music. We could have ordered dinner and arrived early but this time we just had beverages (and a desert). I ordered their house Sangri and my wife enjoyed a glass of wine. And we shared the Churro with ice cream. We had such a good time, when we got home we purchased tickets for another concert later this summer - and we plan on going early and having their BBQ Dinner.

A couple of us found the Rancho Nicasio restaurant on our way home and stopped in. It looks like it has been around for a long time and it has a lot of fun summer activities planned. There is a large dining area as well as a large bar. A lot of wood and a comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs over easy and a coffee. Others in the group ordered fish and chips and fried chicken sandwiches. The fried chicken sandwich was okay, the bread had no flavor. The fish and chips were good and crisp with good flavor. The chicken fried steak was okay, not the best of flavor and a little chewy. The eggs and potatoes were very good. Unfortunately my coffee was barely warm. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. It looks like they have a lot of activities planned for the summer and we will be back to check out their BBQ's and music. Nicasio is a quaint little town.

On a road trip, tripped on this place. Score a great place for a quick stop or hanging out to take in the picturesque setting. The Pups enjoyed the new smells. The selection of food has something for almost everyone. Would be nice to have water bowls for pups and a simple food item. We started with BAKED GARLIC ASIAGO OYSTERS half dozen $20. KALE SALAD $14. peanut cilantro dressing, red cabbage, carrots, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries: ADULT GRILLED CHEESE 18 Nicasio Valley Tomino cheese, apple chutney, tomatoes, caramelized onions All three were very Tasty.

The Tommy Castro concert yesterday was good as usual but not everyone cared for the new 'dancing area' separating the rows of chairs that really was more of a pit or standing area than anything else... Sure hope that is isn't permanent!

Found this place after a hike at devils gulch. If you enjoy a small town feel, this place is it. Situated next to a baseball field, apparently this place comes to life with music events and bbq. Definitely a lot of entertainment for a place seeming to be hidden. I got the fish and chips, the fish was very good, the chips were steak fries, which are my fav. The service was very good. We ended up at the bar in the front of the rest-truant and caught a little bit of a band . Definitely nice vibes and would definitely return.

Food and service were great! Loved this little gem of a place. It's big inside with tons of rooms and a nice looking outdoor area. Looking forward to coming back soon!

From our very first meeting, Eric was the epitome of professionalism. He followed through on every single promise, effectively removing the stress that usually comes with large-scale event planning. Eric manages his team and the event staff with incredible seamlessness--it's clear he has their respect and runs a tight ship. While the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, Eric was hands-down our favorite part of the experience. He made the entire process easy and enjoyable. We are already looking forward to hosting our next event at Peacock Gap, largely because we know we'll be in Eric's capable hands!

They used to do "kids free" on Monday nights. A nice way to take the grandchildren out for dinner without them being stuck with the adults. There were lots of kids, so it was a bit crazy, so the club ceased to offer this special. Good move. Prices are reasonable with good portions. Unique for the very expensive Bay Area. Parking is tight for lunches, as golfers are golfing, but in the evenings, plenty of spaces. A nice option.

For my husband and I, the beauty and intimate feel of the venue far outweighed all the other inconveniences of the place (i.e. having to arrange a shuttle for guests due to limited parking and having to be out by 10pm). We had a small wedding (60 guests) and the size of the venue felt perfect for it. Our ceremony was outdoors in mid-July and the reception was indoors. We started early because we knew we'd have to end early. So we had the ceremony at 2:30pm and because we rented out the place the next morning for cleanup, we didn't leave until 9:55pm. I also appreciated the huge and gorgeous bridal suite upstairs. My mom, sister and I got ready there in the morning and the view was so relaxing. It also served a nice private room for my wedding guests who were nursing mothers. I worked closely with Susan Cullen who is the current event coordinator and she was fantastic. She responded very quickly to my emails and patiently answered a million of my questions. She also gave some very helpful suggestions about table arrangements and where to put the buffet, etc. It was a shame that Susan Cullen wasn't the event coordinator the day of. The woman who was the event coordinator (I can't remember her name) was very sour and totally unhelpful. She looked offended when I asked her to help me light some candles on the tables! She is basically the "fun police" - asking you to turn the music down, etc. But she will drink your alcohol and eat your food without doing anything for you in return. If you can ignore the nuisance of a totally useless "event coordinator" and ask someone else to deal with her, the site is totally worth it. My friends and family were also very in love with the place - we got so many compliments on it! My photographer also loved it. It looked great in photographs!

The club is a special place for our family; my grandmother is a member so I have fond memories of coming to the club for events. It's absolutely charming; Julia Morgan's simple, craftsman architecture, the beautiful gardens and views of the bay make this historical landmark a truly wonderful event space. I worked very closely with a club member on the planning, design and logistics. She offered so many great suggestions, including valuable input into the floor-plan to maximize flow and comfort, guidance on different types of floral and decor possibilities and the best location for the cake to insure it was a focal point, but out of reach to children. More importantly, she went out of her way to meet us at the club for several walk-throughs and even accommodated some early vendor deliveries. Truly couldn't have done this without her guidance and support...thank you again, Susan! We had a short ceremony outside in the garden with the reception indoors. Definitely recommend the club for weddings under 120 guests; we had 87 guests and still had enough room to dance and comfortably move around to access the bar, buffet and restrooms. Many of our guests commented on the loveliness of the space and the beautiful views. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and didn't seem to mind taking a shuttle to/from their cars (as the club doesn't have any parking).

The gardens are well maintained and the other buildings are well maintained. I realize that there is parking, including handicap parking, by the Barn Theater where Ross Valley Theater has plays. My husband is recovering from extensive open heart surgery with significant complications and he was able to walk all around with us and is encouraged to know that we will be able to go to local live theater. The space was perfect for everything we needed, and although we had our ceremony down the road at Old Mill Park, it would have been a beautiful place to have that too. The space is so gorgeous it needs very little additional decoration, and everything you add is just magnified by the surroundings. As a historic building in a small town they have a number of rules and restrictions, and when we decided to book I did wonder if they might be difficult to plan around. But it wasn't hard at all, and everything from the decor to the music was exactly as I hoped and not held back at all. I would definitely strongly recommend booking vendors who are familiar with OAC though, because with them you never have to worry about a thing, knowing they have it handled! I'll specifically mention music volume, as that was the main thing I worried about - we wanted a dance party, and we got one without any issue! Our DJ (Airsun) was really familiar with OAC and with our coordinator (Stacey Dillon) - who herself works there all the time - and they all knew what they needed to do, so I didn't worry for even a second about it. And I never would have guessed there were any sound restrictions by the experience, it didn't hold back the party at all. The facilities manager Dave did a great job with setup and was so kind and helpful about drop off and pickup of all our stuff. We also worked with Rodney of Marin Event Lighting to hang bistro lights (he is the only one allowed to do it) and they were gorgeous and perfect. They also require you work with one of their approved caterers, and Sage did a phenomenal job! OAC is a stunning hidden gem in Mill Valley and I would highly recommend it for any event!

We had our wedding in September 2023 at the Outdoor Art Club, and I could not be happier with every detail. We had visited many venues, and nothing gave us the right vibe until we stepped foot into the OAC. What's most important to me is always the people, and every single person we got to work with there was beyond helpful and kind. David helped us plan out the most perfect layout for our group. He is so fun and a true delight to be around. He made everything flow and planning with him was a piece of cake because he knows exactly what to do! Mary was welcoming from Day 1, super responsive always, and a pleasure to work with. Kenny was also a great person to meet, and he does a great job with the grounds - always offering a kind word and a smile! Hilary was there the day of our wedding and she kept everything in check. Beyond the people, the venue is so naturally beautiful and has such a storied history. Guests were so happy to be there, and kept commenting on how beautiful the flowers and grounds were kept. You also cannot beat the location to downtown Mill Valley, and yet it still feels very tucked away and private from the hustle and bustle of the town! We are so happy to have had our special day at the Outdoor Art Club with all the wonderful OAC staff and volunteers who made it a happen.
