This cafeteria-style buffet is located in the mall, has ample parking, and has an inviting and pleasant ambiance. We arrived an hour before opening, not realizing the time difference between Texas and New Mexico so we walked around the little mall until opening time. Hobbs Buffet is a former Furr's that has been purchased by new owners who kept most of the menu items, as well as the buffet format, in place. There are still some signage in place that indicate that this was once a Furr's. However, there is an addition of Vietnamese offerings which sets this place apart from a typical cafeteria. The management and employees were very friendly and certainly went out of the way to make sure my family and I had a good lunch. The food is fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable with a senior citizens' discount available. They serve Coca Cola products at Hobbs Cafeteria. I will certainly return the next time I am in the area!

I have noticed better flavors out of some of the dishes that I wasn't crazy about before. Same great service from the host/owner, Mr. Lin. I just love the koi in the pond up front. My kiddos love getting ice cream from the machine that was unfortunately broken the last time we dined in on 6.26.2026. It's located in Hobbs, NM, near Albertsons Market. Casino will not set AC at a suitable temperature for its guest…read more Its extremely hot inside the gaming area- the ONLY area that is somewhat cool is the ultimate high stakes area which consist of a small room with @ 20 machines. Casino provides small paper hand fans for the guest and guest will still be sweating while using the paper fans. It is ridiculous that the casino CANNOT or WILL NOT supply their guest with a suitable room temperature that would allow for a comfortable gaming experience. The carpet is worn in many areas with duct tape used to hold the frayed carpet in place. I heard many older guests complaining about the carpet as a tripping hazard. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT WITH THE AC- I HAVE BEEN 6 TIMES SINCE FEBRUARY AND ITS EVERYTIME!!!!!

Margarita was same, just kind of a average. Service was kind of uninterested and got one order wrong, which meant we had to wait longer. Partner had a French Dip, reportedly pretty good. Maybe the whole experience would have been different if we had ordered steaks, which is what one should probably do at a steakhouse. That said, maybe Cattle Barron'd reputation has outlived it for me.

The ribeye was perfectly seared--juicy, tender, and full of rich flavor, cooked exactly as ordered. Paired with their fried rice, which is fluffy, loaded with fresh veggies, egg, and that signature wok-tossed taste, it's a winning duo. It was not greasy. It was perfectly seasoned, and generously portioned. Great service, welcoming vibe, and solid value.

They're located in the same area as Big Cheese Pizza on the west end of the Albertson's Market plaza in Hobbs, NM. Their BBQ may not be everyone's absolute favorite, but it's good to me. No one at our party complained! Here's what my brothers and I ordered from the catering menu for 4/20/2024: COMPLETE DINNER PLANS - SERVED BUFFET STYLE, MINIMUM 10 PEOPLE. We had approximately 50 people. + "EXECUTIVE" plan - Includes three meats, two sides, bread, pickles, sauce (3 variations: mild, sweet & sour, & spicy) and place settings. + We chose ribs, brisket, turkey, scalloped potatoes, mac n cheese... + this package also came with sliced jalapeños & onions + Additionally we ordered 50 dinner rolls (everyone loved these) + 20 corn cobbettes + 1 ranch broccoli super spud (I mean they are HUGE potatoes LOL) + large plain cheese pizza (separate charge from BCP but same delivery) Our delivery went great by one solo employee. My significant other helped him. Our bill came out to $1,055.14. No deposit was required. They simply asked that I call in on the day of the delivery to provide a card number over the phone. Our guests were pleasantly surprised & some even took home leftovers! Yes, I recommend them & would do it all over again. The most difficult part was ordering with a newbie over the phone. Lol.
