I sat at the bar since I was alone and did not get any service until I got up to ask for it. Lupa comes over with her arms folded and stands in front of me. She did not ask if I needed help or water. I asked her if I could have a menu to break the silence. She handed me a menu and never identified herself. The rest went downhill real fast. The Service was horrible, and I will never step foot in this restaurant again. There are too many Mexican restaurants in this area for me to deal with poor service that I have to pay for. Lupa do better because you will never get an opportunity again to treat me as if I am irrelevant. The Manager was deflecting and explaining the bad behavior, which is unacceptable. I completely understand why the ratings focus on the poor customer service. I was warned and chose to give them a chance which is completely my fault. Never again!! The food is decent!

Is this the perfect place, no, but it's not the worst around town. I can see a lot of you reviewers have never worked in the food industry based on your silly emotion filled reviews that really don't equate to the lack of stars you give, but such is life when everyone has a voice.

I have to start coming here every week to get one and then I will have to switch it up between one flavor or mixing them both, but they are really delightful. The chicken tasted plain and didn't have a lot of flavor. Portions are big and easily can be shared. Their queso was the star of the show and the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars. We're talking Abuelita in the kitchen, cousins out front, and a husband-and-wife team keeping everything moving. It's warm, inviting, and authentic; this isn't your standard Tex-Mex. The Spread The menu is expansive, offering everything from all-day breakfast to specialized street snacks like esquites, quesadilla, wings, and burgers. Chicken Tamales (Green Sauce) $4.50 each: We kicked things off with these, and they were good texture. The masa was soft and steamed, with shredded chicken which means every bite has a little of everything. The green sauce added a bright, tempered acidity that really elevated the seasoned meat. The Tacos $2.99 $19.99+: They offer both Mexican (corn tortilla) and American (lettuce/tomato) styles. While the American version is an option, the traditional corn is much better simple, and flavorful. Choripollo $18.99: This was one of my fav. It's a grilled chicken breast topped with smoky chorizo and seasoned potatoes. I loved the balance here; the chicken was lightly seasoned, allowing the rich, savory chorizo and potatoes to lead the flavor profile. The potatoes were lightly crisp and seasoned. Churro Cheesecake Pancakes $10.99: You don't usually see a full breakfast menu at a Mexican spot, so I had to try these. They were light and fluffy with slightly crisp edges, but the Cajeta (caramelized goat's milk sauce) absolutely elevated the entire dish. It was rich and sweet but perfectly balanced and not overwhelming at all. Drinks: The tamarindo juice is a must. It's got that signature sweet-yet-tangy kick, and for the price, they bring you a full 32 oz pitcher for $4.50. The margaritas, starting at $8.99 16oz were equally refreshing and well-made. Other Items Tried For dessert, we also tried the Tres Leches. While the flavor was there, it was my least favorite of the spread simply because I prefer my cake fully soaked, and this version was a bit drier than I like. I also sampled their Mole; the staff was kind enough to give me a taste, but the flavor profile just wasn't for me. Service & Value The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. You can feel the "all hands on deck" family energy. However the staff tries to be attentive but sometimes appear to scramble and forget items, needing reminders. They haven't been open a year so lead with grace. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other restaurants. So the day I visited was my last day in Georgia. I was brought here to say my thank you and goodbyes. I say my thank yous and goodbyes because the town was so good to me. But why couldn't they bring me to this place sooner? We started with the nachos and dip. Now, being here in Griffin, I know what that means. It means their dip comes with homemade cheese with chunks of seasoned meat, which is the best. Of course, another favorite, a theme of the many restaurants in this town, is the Ceviche Cocktail. Of course, I ordered that here at Amigos. It's a giant goblet with a homemade salsa mixed with lime, onion, cilantro, avocado, radish, and Jumbo shrimp, and I mean the freshest of shrimp--the shrimp decorating the rim of the glass. The Ceviche is zesty, spicy, and full of flavor. It's a mouthful of deliciousness! Next, I ordered the fajita quesadilla as my main dish! It was the most seasoned and colorful dish. It came out sizzling. I could hear the sizzle, smell the aroma of the season in the air. It's a mixture of steak and chicken, so tender, with mushrooms, bell peppers, and more. The white cheese melted perfectly on top, bringing more flavor to an already good-tasting dish. I didn't even use the tortillas. It can be a standalone dish. Now, I do like tortillas, but I felt like the tortillas would make me full, and I didn't want that. I wanted to enjoy and eat it all. It was my last day here!
