a plate of mexican food

Alrighty..... We gave this establishment a shot this evening and it wasn't too bad. The waitress was very attentive and the food came out pretty quick. It's very clean on the inside, even the bathrooms. I ordered a dish called enchiladas Jalisco. It was 3 chicken enchiladas with rice and guacamole salad. They were good but could have been more juicy. The wife had a chicken breast that was butterflied and covered with chorizo, queso, and pineapple. She really enjoyed it. She also ordered sweet tea and a strawberry margarita. They are kinda pricey here and don't offer a la carte menu. May stop in future but won't break my neck.

We even went during lunch rush on cinco de Mayo so we were expecting service to be slow since they were pretty busy but it wasn't slow at all.

I knew if the hot dogs looked like anything in the picture, they would be good, and they were, and I got two. Now, with the staff being so sweet and the hot dogs being so good, I returned the following day. This time I ordered the fried fish, and we got another delicious dish of shrimp and chicken. The sweet hostess, the young girl, told me I would really like my fish if it were fried hard. Well, she was so right. It came out steaming hot, and the seasoning covered the whole fish from the outside to the inside. The skin was so crispy and crunchy, I left nothing behind. Also, as you can see, I ordered the same appetizer on both days. It's a cheesy sauce with chunks of meat inside. By far, this is a favorite too. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu soon.

A California Burrito with guacamole, lettuce, tomato and sour cream is $15. When it was time for lunch, I noticed the burrito had a smear of sour cream, and very little lettuce and tomato, and NO guacamole. I called and they said they didn't have guacamole. It's a $5 difference. Mejor avisar a los clientes cuando faltan ingredientes. The burrito was tasty. But they should let customers know if they don't have the ingredients to make what they ordered, especially if they pay extra for those ingredients.

Everything we had was delicious, fresh and corn tortillas are handmade too. Table salsas were spicy and flavorful and I was so excited to see them instead of generic salsa. Our fav tacos were the fish taco, lengua and the shrimp. Our least fav was the chicken-it was a little over cooked and although it was still tasty...we preferred all the pork/beef options more. They don't have fountain drinks. Options are bottled in the cooler and you pop open your on tops...which is how it should be! They have Mexican coke in a bottle too! The highlight FOR ME was the pickled onion...I stan pickled red onion and their version is so damn good. Perfect crunch with a little bit of spicy heat and tangy-ness of the vinegar....*chefs kiss*

The menu was straight forward and I liked being able to see pictures of the food I wanted to order. My wife got tacos and I ordered a burrito. The food was great and tasted of authentic Mexican flavor. My order came with a side order of fries with my burrito and they were cold and unsalted. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy Mexican food, just skip the fries.

The corn tortillas were fantastic and so was the salsa for our chips. Carlos, our server was PHENOMENAL! He was super on top of checking in on us to make sure we had a great experience. He even went out of his way to make sure my daughter did not have a super hot plate so she didn't burn her little self. It was so chill in the restaurant and everyone really enjoyed themselves! Mind you this is the Mexican restaurant that we would frequent on a regular basis. First off the service was amazing. We kept full glasses of beverages. The food was hot and tasted very good. The proportions were decent in size. We did order off of the lunch menu to save a few bucks. I also wanted some hot wings and got 12 of those. They were great as well. With 3 big plates of food we got out at around $31 bucks. The temperature inside the restaurant was on point too. Very comfortable air conditioning as it was a warmer day. Since we did enjoy our trip, we will definitely be back. Keep up the good work! Ps. The salsa has always been good with a little kick to it.

The cohesiveness of the staff, is phenomenal. Brandon and Michael were my service personnel, and the hospitality that they provided was nothing less than stellar. Seriously, I've dined at a ton of upscale eating establishments, but these guys are five star / Michelin star restaurant type of staff, minus the vest, cummerbund and bowtie Think I'm lying? Look at all my reviews. I'm staying across the parking lot at the rat roof inn. I've stayed in this hotel before, and have seen this place multiple times throughout the last year, I can't not see it, because it's directly outside my window on the third floor, but I'm just so overly critical about my Mexican food and never came in, but I did today. I really wish I would have given this place a try before. Anything less than four stars about this place is an absolute robbery. Even from a stranger. The amount of unity in this restaurant is uncanny, it definitely has a small town vibe (sorry, I HATE using that word). These guys know everybody, and it seems like everybody knows everybody! So seeing so many people as repeat customers is obviously a good sign. Michael and Brandon made me a very generous jalapeno margarita.. I'm a drinker, daily drinker, liquor, and after throwing this bad boy back, I was definitely feeling like a smooth barracuda! I sat there for a good couple hours. Conversating with other restaurant goers at the bar. Everybody is just so nice, that is why I love the South. I'm only pulling one star, because my food was cold. I hate I hate I hate to say that, because everything else was so spot on. Even in the middle of my rice it was a little bit over room temp and my enchiladas weren't melted at all.. I was going to ask them to take it back and heat it up a little bit longer, but as the night went on they got really busy so they were hustling and bustling taking care of other customers. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm here in the area. You guys have a great staff, and I know the food is good, a lot of the food that they carried by me to other tables was actually sizzling. I might have just got the bad luck of the draw. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149.
