La Costilla Grill was our Saturday dinner date pick of the night. I ordered the steak fajitas with white flour tortillas and a strawberry lemon drop. The waiter was super nice and attentive the only thing was he could've spoken a little louder since the music was on the louder side. My friend ordered the fried snapper. He thought it lacked a bit of seasoning, but I tried it and thought it was fried nicely and tasted good. Overall, I'd rate La Costilla Grill a 4/5. Went here for Cinco de Mayo... Theplace appeared clean, however the was food and service was horrible. The waitress couldn't read the word / didn't know how to pronounce jalapeño. She automatically gave us salad without salad dressing and fries with our quesadillas. Our cheese dip never came out, she had the nerve to tell us we still needed to pay for it because she couldn't take it off the check. The salad cucumber, taste like it was soaked or either store near chemicals. And after all that, she put an auto gratuity of 20%, check to add a the additional tip. I came here for a celebratory business lunch and I would have given it 5 starts had it not been for the prices! I expect Americanized Mexican food to be a certain price point and this place exceeded that by quite a bit. There was no lunch menu so perhaps that was the reason. First location was opened in Atlanta in 2013, 2nd location in the hispanic mall Plaza Fiesta. Now owners bring the authentic flavor and the cooked to perfection outside skirt parrilladas to McDonough Georgia which represents the cuisine's proverbial from Northern Mexico. They also have a bar as well separate from the other area and a decent sized eating area. They have outdoor seating, good for watching sports and they have kids menu too. I'm from Chicago! I am down here for job training and wanted some Mexican food. I've came across this location (which it's near my hotel) and honestly I will not return... Food: Fried rolled taco meal w/ refried beans, side of guacamole and chips I've tried to get el pastor tacos but was told they don't sell that type of pork. My Sweetie wanted to take me here for Taco Tuesday( because I absolutely LOVE LOVE TACOS). The place was pretty cool. Nice vibe with a good ambiance and the DJ was playing some good music. He ordered Shrimp Empanadas as appetizer but he didn't receive them until after we finished our food due to the kitchen losing the ticket to make it so that was a bomber. We both had the Taco Trio which was good. The drinks were a little pricey so we got the House Margarita and it was refreshing. This place is very overpriced for extremely mediocre food. The so-called steak sure seemed like ground beef. I had to flag someone down to ask for the missing guacamole that was supposed to come with my taco salad. The worst part, however, was that no paper bill was presented for review prior to payment. Instead, the waitress came around with the payment device that showed only my salad and a total amount that exceeded the item and 8% tax. When I asked the waitress if a tip had already been added on (I was with a large party), I was told no, so I added a tip. My $16 salad ended up costing $23.82. That's an additional $3 over the salad, tax, and a 20% tip should have been. The waitress did a good job, but was relatively new and did not seem to be aware that a tip had already been added onto the bill. I asked for a printed copy of the receipt, which I never received. The waitress said that someone would come talk to me, but no one ever did. I will never go back to that restaurant. Management appears not to adequately train their staff on policy, causing the staff to deceive customers. read more

Just keep on driving by this place. We have tried this spot two times in the past few months. The first time was mid. The second was just terrible. The drinks have so much sweet syrup and little alcohol. I'm a one drink girl any I was even disappointed both times. The food is terrible. Both times, I ordered tacos. The menu is super weird and has too much American food like a slab of ribs and hot wings. I always get the taco trio and try three different ones. The only fresh meat you'll get is shrimp. The pork was dry and from last week. The beef didn't taste like beef..it was dry too. Please go to any other Mexican spot but this one. Our waitress was terrible too. We came in on a Saturday and shockingly seen it was pretty empty. We sat quickly and service was prompt. The menu had a lot to offer but the prices is pretty steep so it all added up quick. Chips and salsa on the table was good. Food was good very seasoned got a sangria and it was warm . Corn was good didn't get to finish it and mayo wasn't heavy on it. Certainly worth stopping in if you're local or visiting however I would not make a special trip. Excellent service and hostess- beautiful decor and very clean environment. Plenty of space for events or large group outings. The patio is the best- naturally shaded closer to the entry and fans are centrally placed throughout. I had 3 corn tacos- Fried Shrimp, Steak & Fried Fish - loved the Shrimp(plump, juicy and perfectly fried) the Steak was a little dry but I poured the salsa from the nachos over it and it hit the stop. I went to La Costilla Grill on Tuesday for happy hour. I like the atmosphere, it's open space to outdoor dining is an experience. The happy hour serves $1.00 shredded tacos(3 choices of meat), $1.00 tequila shots, and $2.99 frozen margaritas which were surprisingly giving the buzz I was looking for. Everything was pretty good. They serve you complimentary chips and salsa and the salsa is really good. We also ordered a side of queso dip with chorizo (not pictured) and the cup was a decent portion. The fajita norteña has a good flavor. Steak was a little chewy, chicken was nice and soft, and shrimp was good. It's enough to feed 2 people to make about 6 tacos if you want. The frijoles were really tasty. The fish tacos are worth it for the grilled fish, not so much the fried fish. It comes with a little yummy mango puree side sauce. The fried fish was really skinny and not too flavorful so I wouldn't recommend. The grilled fish taco was really tasty with the mango sauce so be sure to eat it when it's hot and fresh! Asada and chicken tacos were good for the price and flavor. Both meats were tender and soft! Parillada steak (medium well) was GREAT. It was well seasoned, juicy, and not chewy. Onions were cooked to perfection. The sausage and frijoles charros were okay. We also got the guacamole salsa and that was great. The music is entertaining but really loud, so if you're hard of hearing keep that in mind because we couldn't really hear our server since he was so soft spoken. The server was attentive and gave us refills and napkins quickly. The server accidentally gave one of us two of the wrong tacos at first but thankfully he gave us the right ones and didn't charge us or take away the wrong ones. read more

Stopped by on Sunday for a late lunch. First time experience. I was seated immediately and greeted by my server Luci L. She was very nice and patient explaining the different Margaritas they had to offer. I order a regular margarita & a shot of tequila. Luci asked if I would like some guacamole. Of course I said yes however didn't ask the cost. The guacamole was very bland. The meal I ordered was fried salmon tacos & 1 grilled shrimp taco. My tacos were delicious.
