I have been here for the first time and by entering I love the ambiance. Great Mexican food and drinks. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Chicken fajitas which are an easy and flavorful weeknight meal. A classic Mexican recipe, juicy chicken is seasoned, seared and cooked to perfection, then tossed with sauteed bell peppers and onions. A squeeze of fresh lime adds a punch of flavor and the chicken fajitas are served with warm tortillas and toppings. I also got extra tortillas for no extra cost. Had the Mango Margarita. Mango, lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau are the ingredients. The chips were homemade along with the salsa with a spicy kick. La Costilla Grill brings Authentic Mexican food to McDonough, GA. First location was opened in Atlanta in 2013, 2nd location in the hispanic mall Plaza Fiesta. Now owners bring the authentic flavor and the cooked to perfection outside skirt parrilladas to McDonough Georgia which represents the cuisine's proverbial from Northern Mexico. They also have a bar as well separate from the other area and a decent sized eating area. They have outdoor seating, good for watching sports and they have kids menu too. Plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant. Will definitely recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood.

I'm from Chicago! I am down here for job training and wanted some Mexican food. I've came across this location (which it's near my hotel) and honestly I will not return... Food: Fried rolled taco meal w/ refried beans, side of guacamole and chips I've tried to get el pastor tacos but was told they don't sell that type of pork. Pros: The staff is polite and great customer service The cost is fair Cons: Tacos was soft and not fried Guacamole was good but very stiff like it was frozen Refried beans was very soupy and not so appealing Which I didn't eat it They give you the whole meal in separate containers Overall: I haven't tried the other meals, that one meal was not worth of me giving them a second try.

My Sweetie wanted to take me here for Taco Tuesday( because I absolutely LOVE LOVE TACOS). The place was pretty cool. Nice vibe with a good ambiance and the DJ was playing some good music. He ordered Shrimp Empanadas as appetizer but he didn't receive them until after we finished our food due to the kitchen losing the ticket to make it so that was a bomber. We both had the Taco Trio which was good. The drinks were a little pricey so we got the House Margarita and it was refreshing. I would definitely like to try a few other menu items so we'll return.

Dry pork tacos

Just keep on driving by this place. We have tried this spot two times in the past few months. The first time was mid. The second was just terrible. The drinks have so much sweet syrup and little alcohol. I'm a one drink girl any I was even disappointed both times. The food is terrible. Both times, I ordered tacos. The menu is super weird and has too much American food like a slab of ribs and hot wings. I always get the taco trio and try three different ones. The only fresh meat you'll get is shrimp. The pork was dry and from last week. The beef didn't taste like beef..it was dry too. Please go to any other Mexican spot but this one. Our waitress was terrible too. We saw her only once when she took our order. We had to ask for the check which should have been free because they took our full plates and glasses.

The grilled chicken quesadilla with 4/5 pieces of meat

The customer service / waitress WENDY and host was awesome the manager was very apologetic and very nice about this horrible experience! It's the back of THE HOUSE that must don't comprehend well & The mojito that the bartender made was full of syrup ask her how did she make it she gave incorrect ingredients and that's why I didn't taste the mint or the rum THATS THE PURPOSE OF A MOJITO they made the quesadilla twice THE FIRST time the the onions was raw the meat was undercooked nd forgot the bell peppers ! The second time Wendy ask them to remake it and make it well done with the bell peppers and THE SECOND time they quesadilla came out with 4 5 pieces of meant and a boat load of mushrooms and 2 pieces of bell peppers the amount of mushrooms was outrages to me that had the whole quesadilla unflavored and again with 4 pieces of meat .. Long story short the bartender don't know how to make drinks and the cooks in the back just don't care ! Again the front of the house including the manager was all very nice ,listened and was very apologetic! But yall ask them who's cooking or get a young newly experienced person to make the drink the correct way ... I'll just stick to the city La pillars from here on out .. My daughter Torta was the fried SAND-WHICH WAS decent but kinda cold but I won't know the flavor on that ! I think this was too early maybe..

We came in on a Saturday and shockingly seen it was pretty empty. We sat quickly and service was prompt. The menu had a lot to offer but the prices is pretty steep so it all added up quick. Chips and salsa on the table was good. Food was good very seasoned got a sangria and it was warm . Corn was good didn't get to finish it and mayo wasn't heavy on it. Space was big enough for larger groups and I'm sure during summer you get a bigger crowd.

Certainly worth stopping in if you're local or visiting however I would not make a special trip. Excellent service and hostess- beautiful decor and very clean environment. Plenty of space for events or large group outings. The patio is the best- naturally shaded closer to the entry and fans are centrally placed throughout. I had 3 corn tacos- Fried Shrimp, Steak & Fried Fish - loved the Shrimp(plump, juicy and perfectly fried) the Steak was a little dry but I poured the salsa from the nachos over it and it hit the stop. Good sized portions, fresh and quickly prepared.

DOA burrito

La Costilla Grill compared to other Mexican eateries in the area really doen't stand out. It's just another typical chip serving Mexican restaurant. I was hoping for a good steak burrito dish but I was served a burrito that looked like it drowned in cheese sauce. The burrito was filled with everything other than steak only a couple of small pieces of meat and the rest was fillers. La Costilla Grill could really use some meat on her bones!

First, I'm originally from San Diego, born and raised. With that said, I understand that food is regional, and I will probably never find anything in GA comparable in taste to San Diegan Mexican food. The staff here is friendly, thanks Hakeem! The music was great! The complimentary chips (served warm) and salsa (mild) were fresh. We were off to a great start! I ordered a Margarita and three tacos, grilled fish, fried fish, and steak. The tacos were good, although I would've preferred corn tortillas instead of flour (next time). I asked for a spicier salsa and was given an avocado crema, which had the right amount of heat. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I will definitely return!

Not anything to brag about for the 1$ taco which chicken and beef are the specials all other tacos start @ 2.50 don't have to speak for the 1$ shots more like 50cent shots. Many empty tables still had a 45min wait to be seated since it was their busy Tuesday. We was seated and waited at least 25mins for a server. Nothing to brag about!

Immediately upon entering there's a variety of booths, tables and bar seating. We opted for a table on the opposite side of the DJ so we could hear each other talk. Service was from Mimi who was very helpful in recommending the sides for our entree. We ended up ordering the jerk wings (appetizer), turkey wings with collards, dressing and candied yams. I ate the wings as my entree and we shared the sides. The presentation was great. Real plates & flatware. The sides came in their own bowls so the food doesn't touch. We were so hungry I didn't snap a picture but just imagine it! Or go try it for yourself when you're in the area. 5 Stars! Sometimes, a lady just wants a cocktail…read more Summary: Good spot. Would visit again. In this economy, you're going to spend more than you'd like. The strip mall entrance and parking a bit of a challenge. Full review below: I went in Saturday afternoon. It was lightly busy but fully staffed so help/attention came quick. Dining solo so I opted for a seat at the bar. Bartender was super attentive. Didn't have to wait long for a menu or to place my order. Also, she regularly checked in on how everything was. I ordered the Yellow Diamond Martini ($15) and it was delicious. I got the fried green tomatoes (4 pieces) for $11.95. Complimentary very tall cup of water. The tomatoes were a little small so this is definitely an appetizer/light snack...which is A-OK for me. It came out shortly after my martini was ready. Overall, minus tip, it came to $29. Music was playing through a speaker but not too loud. People could comfortably have a conversation. There are multiple tvs throughout. I appreciated that some of them were showing stuff other than sports. One monitor, near the restroom, is devoted to Culturistic Kitchen content, which is smart. I did use the restroom. It's two stalls and two sinks. The non-handicap/ADA stall is tiny. I'm like a medium-sized woman who is 5'7 and even I was like yikes. When the place is busy/packed I could see a wait or a line for the bathroom. The one major downside...which is not Culturistic Kitchen's fault is that the strip mall is not easy to get out of and onto the main road (Jodeco Rd) especially if you're turning left. The parking lots for all the shops, which are great businesses, should be bigger than it is. Don't be surprised if, during peak times, you may have to park 1-2 doors down from the restaurant. Overall, I would go again. I don't go out to eat that often (there's food at the house ) but if I want a good cocktail and a light snack or try some of their regular food items, I would come again. More than likely, I'd choose an off-peak time because I wouldn't want to experience it at near full capacity but that's just me.

So we called them around 8:15 to see if they were still seating people or when do they stop seating people and let them know we done the street. The lady on the phone said it's fine come on in. So we seated of course things were rushed which is understandable because people are ready to go home but it's like if we're not going to get decent service just say hey we want you guys to get the best service catch us again tomorrow cause this experience really is the exact opposite from first experience which I will still keep and add below this review. The drinks were out and flat. The menu says gratuity of 18% on groups 6+ but we were still charged that gratuity. We did hibachi sit down and didn't want any sides like the soup or salad so we could get straight to it since it's late but got extra charges for fried rice. I thought it would actually be included since it's hibachi. Then we realize everytime we come the prices or fees change but we always get the same thing. And the food was nasty. So we just boxed it up and headed out so we can go box home and throw it back on the stove or something, I don't know. I really just feel like this experience was due to it being late and everyone ready to go home. I've never had a bad experience here until today. My food and service is usually outstanding so the only advice I have is to never go too late or close to closing time outside of that service is usually great but not today tho. Previous review: Great food with quick and amazing customer service. I'm new to the area and this is my go to spot now. As soon as you walk in your greeted and seated right then and there. Love it here 10/10 highly recommend.
