The roast had marbling like good steak , the butchering is first rate. trimmed perfectly . not like a store or Costco with large amounts of fat. or cut uneven. this was picture perfect ! And everytI've we have been there the service is exelent. i have a hard time with reviews of tough meat. maybe they don't know how to properly cook it. and customer service top self. even the other customers are friendly.

They have tons of varieties of potatoes, but if we're going to be honest the best thing they have is their bacon. It's the best bacon I've ever had. I once managed to get some shoulder bacon, and it was heavenly. All of their meat is good, though, and it feels really good to eat meat that I know was raised ethically and naturally by good people!

So, for 3+ years I looked and looked around here and FINALLY found a source. River's Edge Ranch offers all kinds of great quality meats; beef, lamb, goat, poultry.... and sausages made from their meats. They also have other products from the tallow and suet of their livestock. You can find soaps, lotions, even beard oil! So, when I contacted them about acquiring some beef cheeks, they quickly responded and got me set up. The 3 packages of cheeks I bought were wrapped, frozen and ready for me. The whole purchase process straight-from-the-source was about as easy as it could be. The cheeks I opened were perfect! They were expertly trimmed already, with very little sinew left to remove. I couldn't be happier. The price is only slightly higher than what I would've expected to pay, but I'd gladly pay it again for this level of quality. I can't wait to try some of their other goods!

Clare (the manager/owner) did us proud with a selection of wonderful cheeses, pates, sausages and baguettes plus a fois gras mousse than my daughter described as "EPIC" The result is my distant family think I am an OK Dad and Charcuterie Totoche are my new best friends. The cashier lady was ringing up my groceries and asked me if the apricots on the belt were peaches or nectarines. I told her that they were neither and were actually apricots. She then looks at me accusingly as if I'm trying to steal and says "Those aren't apricots. Apricots are small. Are they peaches or nectarines? I again inform her that the small, fuzzy orange and red things that look like apricots in front of her are indeed apricots and she responds by taking the bag of fruit and walking over to the produce section to see if she can figure out what these mysterious objects that she has made it perfectly clear she thinks I'm trying to steal are. After she confirms I'm not trying to steal peaches or nectarines by declaring them as apricots (which are more expensive anyway), she finally goes back to the line she has been failing to keep moving and finishes ringing up my groceries. Maybe it's because I was a bit sweaty because I was stopping in on a bike trip but this woman had a real attitude with me when all I was trying to do was buy some apricots. One of the reviews that's "not recommended" seems to share a similar experience where someone was presumed to be stealing because of how they looked.

Last time, they shorted us our flank steak. This year, they took over a month to cut 1 cow. Any time you ask them why things are not correct, they deny blame and say it's not their fault. The guy answering the phone is apathetic at best and is not willing to work with you in the slightest. After using them for over 15 years, we are done and never going back.
