China Bend Vineyards provided a fantastic experience! It's a scenic drive along the Columbia River. The road entering the property is narrow and twisty, a beautiful journey and fine to maneuver with our 21 ft Class B. We were greeted with so much kindness and a hearty welcome by the owners, their staff, and the resident doggos! Friday night offered a festive happy hour with plenty of people sharing good vibes. After our tastings, we came away with multiple bottles of wine and a jar of fresh garlic herbs. I recommend the Aurore and Ancient Secrets Foch. It was a privilege to have tasty treats and dip that Victory made herself and the stories told by Loyalty will be cherished. The easy elevation walk down to the gorgeous Columbia River was less than 300 steps. We took our beach chairs and visited that scene that was so peaceful. We went here for my sisters birthday during their Memorial Weekend event. It is breath taking setting and the building is amazing. We sat in the yard at the tables and drank the wine we bought after tasting most of them to choose. My sister goes there every years with a group and one of the owners was kind enough to even bake her a very yummy cake. The driveway is long and rough, but I knew that. Don't bring you low riding civic, you will be stressed. But the location once you get there is gorgeous. And I felt the staff was very nice. The wine maker was giving taste of their spring barrels that day meaning they were not wines yet for sale, but I really like one of them and asked what it would take to buy one. He said 5 minutes. :) He was nice enough to get me a bottle and cork it, with a hand written label and all. On a non holiday weekend it would be too quiet here for me, I liked having a large group of friends there, so bring a group. They also had a couple of guys hanging out with guitars to play us music, which was really nice. I grew up in the Kettle Falls area and know the basic history of this place so maybe I was less surprised by it all. Someone who has no idea and is from say, the coast, may find this place to be too relaxed and friendly. But It is worth the drive for a cool place to hang out with a bottle of wine.
