Finding GOOD orchards with friendly people, amazing produce and excellent prices is a blessing. The folks here always have a smile and are willing to help - whether you want to pick yourself or just grab a flat of tasty fruit. Selection can be hit-and-miss depending on the season and growing conditions. But, what they do have is always top quality. We grabbed a couple bags of freshly-picked cherries; one bag of Chelan (dark) and one bag of Rainier. Brought them home, de-pitted them and canned - all the while trying hard not to "sample." There was enough leftover from the excess of canning to allow one bowl of goodness each. Incredibly sweet with a nice, firm texture. So, while we have a greenhouse and (small) orchard of our own, we'll be coming back, often, to Columbia View as the season continues.

There was a little room with plants and I like that they have such eclectic items and it is such a large spot to wander through. There is a nice cafe that serves good food and coffee and it was a fun experience to wander through as I was waiting. As another reviewer mentioned, a bit high for some prices but some were reasonable. The children's books were $5 and we got some great hardcovers for that price, but also got some more beat up and smaller books for the same price. I recommend the trip in!

I called and the guy in the meat department told me it supposed to be like that. I was raised on a cattle ranch. Fresh ground beef does not look like that. It was old meat. Gross. Trying to convince that that was normal was very insulting. They are putting something on the meat to make the outside of it look fresh. Probably harmful chemicals. I would not buy meat

Had a chance to stop in Dominion Distillery, in their new Kettle Falls location, while they were…read moreopen. The place is a nice, full-production whiskey distillery with a tasting room adjacent to where all the "action" happens. I got to try a couple of their finished whiskeys, but the one that grabbed my attention was their Apple Brandy. Now, for me, there's "drinkin' whiskey" and there's "sippin' whiskey." And this Apple Brandy of theirs is a fine SIPPIN' whiskey. This would go great while grilling some baby backs or even some smoky pulled pork. It's smooth with a warming finish. The helper I met was friendly, informative; explaining the operation - you could sense the pride he had for the business. Prices are on par with other small batch distilleries. I look forward to attending their Open House events later this year.
