Terrible communication. We planned to meet at 5 and I was waiting at the location for almost TWO HOURS before I finally got a response at 6:30 saying he would be there soon. No updates, no confirmation, nothing. When he finally arrived, NO APOLOGY at all - just said he was late from a previous job and that "his number was there the whole time and you could have called" as if it were on me that I didn't chase him for these last two hours. After exchanging few emails with pictures and specification of the work, we were able to get an approximate estimate. All his crew were very professional, they arrived on time and took care of covering up the surface inside the house that they would be using, to prevent it from getting dirty. They even cleaned the common areas of my townhome community. I was very impressed with the job done, the backyard and retaining wall turned out beautifully. Just, one thing that they can do better is bring in samples and check inventory from the store from where they purchase materials beforehand. I highly recommend Ramos landscaping if you need to do something with your front yard or backyard. I called a lot of landscaping companies, and they all came out to provide a free estimate. Ramos was the only one that gave the most affordable quote for my whole backyard! I loved how Ramos was able to start working on my backyard in the same week, too!! Ramos listened to what we wanted done and he was able to accommodate our design. He always told us what days his team will come. He even ordered the cement pavers, sand, and rocks. When the materials were being delivered, he notifed us to ensure we were home to sign for the delivery. His team worked very hard every day. I noticed they accomplished a lot at the end of the day. They did a great job of getting rid of all the weeds, digging and flattening the ground, putting down rock &sand, and finally laying out all the pavers. They also added rocks to our retaining wall, since I wanted something to prevent weeds. When I really wanted rubber pavers, Ramos was able to help install them. We reached out to Jesus at Ramos Landscaping on a Monday afternoon. We wanted to get a quote for laying new sod in our backyard. Jesus asked for a picture and said he'd come by the same evening. He did and gave us a very reasonable quote. With his reviews and meeting him we felt good about hiring Jesus on the spot. We asked when he could start and he said tomorrow! He did. He texted my husband the next day when he was later than expected because he was getting the dirt, etc that he'd need for our yard. His guys were terrific. They cleaned up after themselves and our work (including new sprinklers and more sprinklers than we had before) were installed and done in 3 days. Shocking and as of today the grass is growing. My experience with Ramos landscaping was very horrible. I employed Ramos landscaping in march 2023 to regrade the front lawn of my house and re-seed it. The lawn was elevated compared to the surrounding driveway and it was uneven. The job asked for the lawn to be lowered to the driveway level and leveled to be even with the driveway. Ramos initially gave a low quote (matched by another person also), but i went with Ramos. On the day of the work it was clear that he had no intention of doing the job properly. He didn't even bother to rent a dumpster for removing the large amount of dirt that needed to be removed (or skid steer or excavator for properly doing the job which most other companies included in their estimate). He just came in the afternoon with two people, for two hours removed the sod and put some of it in his truck (left some of it in the lawn), moved the soil around to make the remaining part a bit level and declared that his work is done and in the next day, he will spread the seeds. Although a large amount of dirt had to be removed from the lawn in a dumpster (which was done by the next contractor that i hired), Ramos refused to do that and demanded the entire payment and when i discontinued him from the job after the first day, he started sending threatening text messages and phone calls. Overall, i found him to be very dishonest and would never recommend anyone to hire him even if he provides a competitive price at the beginning. Prior to that he was also ghosting us without responses or answering phone calls. Now we realized we just dodged a bullet as we trusted all of his words but when push comes to shove, he couldn't follow through. ___ Response to Ramos's Response Below___ We did explored different types of services we may need help for, including what types of lawn to install, whether weed blocking or mulching is needed, which areas we should apply these treatments to, as we figured out what really needs to be done at this stage. However we decided to go with Ramos' full package in the end, including cleanup, and communicated with him via text. He then acknowledged and committed to this full package of work in the call initially, but then later when we asked for a statement of work to prepare the contract and confirmed with him if he has a business license, he switched his attitude and told us about his vacation plan. Ramos' team helped us to completely re-do our front yard and our back yard. They removed most of the front yard and back yard (grass, weeds, plants, trees, bushes, etc), they installed artificial turf in both the front and back yards, they installed new plants, installed river rocks and bark chips, and installed a new drip irrigation system in both the front and back yards to water the new plants and new garden. The estimate was very reasonable and more affordable than several of the other quotes that we received. Ramos was very responsive when there were any issues or adjustments that needed to be made. A few of the adjustments required reasonable increases in the overall cost of the project. His team is very professional and they all work very hard. We're very pleased with the result and have been able to use and enjoy our new backyard and front yard. We've gotten many compliments from neighbors, friends and family about how great everything looks. We weren't in a hurry to have the job completed, but did want it finished before our kids' summer break, so they could play in the backyard. Ramos was able to meet that deadline. Overall, the project took about a month to complete, with his team coming several days each week.
