Hi!!! Let me start because I'm conflicted with the rating . This is a charming market. I want to…read moregive it a 5 rating on its charm but a 1 rating for false advertising. If you follow me, and please do, you know I seek out doughnuts!!! The local doughnut shop was closed due to the holiday so I decided to stop here for doughnuts. The store front was cute and it says "Bakery". Come on!! I have to look at their doughnut selection. Sadly, and I do mean sadly, their was no bakery. It looks like at one time there might have been. It says "baked daily" right above the area. Everyone was friendly enough, but alas, that's not going to get me fresh baked doughnuts. . Take a look at the pictures for the full story. Cause I looked and looked for that bakery inside of Greers. Should you visit this charming market?? Yes but please don't go there looking for baked goods. Have a great day and keep Yelping!!!

I wish I can give this place NO STARS…read more I do not recommend coming here because there is an employee here who likes to disrespect people of other ethnicity. I do not support a place who would give a job to a racist, ignorant, and uneducated person. I will tell all of my friends and family not to come here anymore. On March 27, I went in to Greer's Market at Bayou La Batre to purchase alcohol. An employee badge #8147 Register #002 Store #00016 asked for my ID, after she looked at my ID, she said to me "Hong kong." I was confused at first when she said that to me because I'm of Asian descent. I asked her what did she say again? And she said to me again, "You're driver's license says you're from Hong Kong." From my understanding, I don't see anywhere on my ID that says "HONG KONG" and it's a American Driver's License. I was born in the States and I speak Perfect English and I can understand clearly when someone is trying to think they can get away with being racist against me because maybe she assumed I can't speak English well. I told her immediately that she is a racist person and that comment was uncalled for and I don't think it was funny at all. She didn't say anything afterwards besides "omg" under her breath. She didn't even apologize for her comment. I don't appreciate being discriminated against and I also don't think Greer Employees especially the store managers care about complaints from customers at all either because I called them and they told me that the store manager wasn't in until Monday. I talked to Deborah to let me speak with the store manager who passed the phone to Sarah and Sarah told me the store manager wasn't working until Monday. She gave me the corporate's number which is (251)457-8655. I will be calling on Monday and seeing if she actually did give me the corporate's number or a fake number to try and get rid of me. ‍ Also. Employee was not Covid-compliant. Had her face mask below her chin.

Diana (supervisor)- terrible customer service. She called me over to roll her eyes after I stated I…read morewas there for a return. She then tells me to 'go over there'. I asked her where exactly, and she put her arm and hand directly in my front of my face to 'show me' where. Her arm and hand were so close to my face I had to step back. She was short, rude, rolled her eyes, and made audible sighs. I told her to be careful after she put her hand in my face. I was there for a return, and she could not have been more bothered by it. Whatever is going on in her world, I am sorry for it but it is not my problem. This person is a supervisor. Sad. This person is in a position to lead, and she treats customers like this. Makes me wonder how she treats the employees. Do better.

I come to Laurel a good bit and I've come to shop here at Kroger a few times. Each time I come some…read moreof the employees are happy and always ask if they can help me find anything I need. I buy more than I should or need but being I'm from out of town, they have some things we don't have in my local supermarket, so I'll get some here. What I found out as I was walking out the door was fresh fruit are free as you walking out the door for children or anyone I guess. Apples or oranges. And through the door is an ice chest with free small bottles of water if you'd like one. I took one and as other elderly ladies were walking out I offered them one as well. That is very nice . I think all grocery stores should offer something like this. It's very nice of them.

This Walmart in Monroeville,AL used to be pretty decent but over the past couple of years it has…read morefallen off and recently after the layout change and added self checkouts it has slipped even further. You are extremely lucky if there are two cash registers open at the same time. They are forcing people to use the self check out and that's not fair, especially for the elderly who have trouble with it. The lines are usually really long and it's to no fault of the cashiers. My wife and I have no problem using the self checkout but do not want to use it when we have a full basket due to the limited space to pack the items. (Plus we feel that we shouldn't have to pay and do the job of Walmart) They do have people stationed at most of the self checkout spots but not all of them are helpful and some are inattentive and grouchy. (Usually the younger ladies) We also feel bad for the older women who have to stand there at the self checkout lines for long periods of time. I'm all for a new layout/look but this one seemed to have been designed by someone who does not shop for themselves. I understand that they may have moved things around in order to get customers to travel past products that they normally wouldn't pass but now I hear senior citizens complaining about having to go from one side of the store to the other for things they didn't have to do that for before the changes. There is always a lot of workers in the isles picking groceries using those huge things that are in the way of customers finding stuff. Not their fault but some of them are a bit stand offish. I'll end with my biggest pet peeve which is the person who wants to check my receipt as I leave the store. (I don't always remember to not put it in my wallet. When the one or two lines that are open are so long that we are forced to use self checkout there are times when we hit the button for a receipt and it does not come out or it says out of ink or paper. The young people at those stations are usually on their phone pretending they are on the Walmart site. When we do get their attention they can't help us so we have to go without the receipt and when asked for it at the door it feels as if we are not believed. The irony is that we often see people in the self checkout who either know or are related to the young ladies stationed there and they are talking with them while the customer scans in every other item and bag them, get the receipt and happily go on their merry way. We go to Piggly Wiggly and Red & White more now.

I recently visited Customer Service. A person was having…read moreproblems with their return, so we waited. I asked why not open another register. I was ignored by the employees. The customer making the return apologized. I told them that it wasn't their fault, but managements fault. They had three other registers not being used. Five employees were gathered around one register trying to solve the problem. Come on people, open another register and move the line along. MONROEVILLE HAS THE WORST WALMART EVER ! ! ! !
