This is one of my favorite ramen places! I love the different flavor options and the free bean sprouts. The line is super long though so i would recommend going early. I personally like all of the flavors non spicy because it can get REALLY spicy, but def give this place a try Parking: Mall parking super easy.

Have been here several times but have Not been in a long while. I accidentally spilled the whole pile of chopsticks onto the chair and floor, and thus accidentally spilled the vinegar onto the floor. All the staff (except one young boy) was very patient and cleaned up the area so well. The place and ramen worth 4 star, this service gives that extra one star. I kept apologizing. Ambiance was nice, be prepared to 'share' a table: you are literally sitting next to each other if you are placed in that long communal table. The ramen is excellent! If you like strong flavor broths, you willl love Nagi. The spicy ramen and the black ramen were still as good as I came last time! You line up outside (much more organized than before). They hang you a paper to pre-mark your order, they come to double check everything looked good. Once you sit down, hand them the order, ramen, karaage, etc arrive within 10 minutes! Experience has always been consistent. Service was amazing. You pay at the kiosk at the entrance with the staff. Simple and easy.

This experience was such a fun one, I loved everything! From the customization paper to order you receive when you're in line, to the food quality. As I don't particularly love ramen, I was really thankful to see that you can customize the ramen to have light salt or light/no oil. Just the customization aspect and the system making it to be as efficient and accurate as possible is incredibly cool! I ordered the black king because I was very curious and although the broth color may look intimidating, it was very yummy. The broth had a lot of body to it, it was a bit saltier than I would've liked it but it was a very nice flavor. I am shocked that the ramen only comes with the mushroom slices, meat, and green onion though. I honestly would've expected an egg and some seaweed for the price of the bowl. It was a decent sized serving portion, I think if I enjoyed the broth more I would've been able to also finish the broth as well along with the ingredients inside. My favorite part of this experience has got to be the ability to customize though. Not just the individual ramen orders but even after you receive the food. The little seasoning bar at every table has absolutely everything I'd need. The bean sprouts are amazing and feel like they should be their own side order with how much I ate. I think I would just wish they had peppercorn chili oil for the rice dishes as I usually like to add a bit to my Chashu Don. The water was self serve too, which made it so much easier because I usually feel and when servers refill my water when I don't want to drink more. The service was decent as well, everyone was nice and although not overtly happy they weren't hostile either. I think apart of this experience that I enjoy is just how independent it is so it is easy to bring a friend here and just have a chat with them without feeling overwhelmed by the servers asking you how you're doing every five minutes. It also seems like a very in and out operation because of the line outside that people just finish their meal and leave and so it's a very swift operation instead of people lingering for a while to take up space, I enjoy that aspect of efficiency. Overall, I would love to come back here and try another broth flavor!

The Black King ramen was better than any ramen I tasted in Japan. I opted for heavy garlic and light oil and salt, and added an onsen egg. The original order does not come with egg. I equally like the complimentary bean sprout which was soaked with sesame oil and black pepper and salt. All the food leaned towards heavy flavor. I've also tried the chicken karage and pot stickers on another occasion and they were also legit. We usually try to come earlier on weekend evening like around 5:30, and the wait would be anywhere from 30 mins to 90 mins. Hard to gauge but anticipate at least 30 mins wait. With more restaurant options popping up at the mall such as Asia Live and Taier and Kajiken I think the crowd will thin out.

    Oh Ramen Nagi~ The line always seems to be long, but it's hard to beat a solid bowl of ramen! I've been here a few times now and always leave satisfied. My partner and I got in line and waited about 25 minutes to get into the restaurant. The staff is very efficient and it seems that they have a good system in place for accomodating so many people so quickly. We were greeted while we were in line by Ro, who always seems to have a smile on her face and a wonderful, welcoming energy. If it's your first time, they do a great job at walking you through the options for your ramen. You mark your preferences for your ramen on a sheet of paper that they give you while you are in line, so that you are ready to order by the time you sit down. Our food was ready quickly, and I love that they keep a pitcher of water on the table for your convenience! They have a few ramen dishes that are always featured, but sometimes will feature limited time items that you can try. We've had the Green King before (definitely recommend -- it's awesome), Black King seems to be the go-to for me, and today we were lucky to try the Garlic King -- a limited time menu item. Both were of our ramen were delicious, each ingredient crafted with love. I enjoy the thinly sliced chashu, but definitely prefer the kakuni. And don't sleep on the bean sprouts that are sitting on the table with your various spices! They add a really nice refreshing & umami touch to the overall meal. I'll be back whenever I can convince my partner to wait in line again (which doesn't come easy, let me tell you~), but he was quite happy with our meal today so fingers crossed that day comes sooner than later. After our visit today, it's possible that he thinks the ramen is worth the wait (;

There's always a line to dine here, so we took advantage of summer break and arrived about 10 minutes before opening on a weekday. The wait was much more reasonable, and we were seated right away. Before being seated, you're given a form to customize your ramen exactly to your liking, including broth richness, saltiness, spice level, noodle texture, and toppings. Once seated, the staff quickly confirms your selections and gets your order started. The process is very efficient and clearly designed to keep things moving. Service is quick and straightforward. While the staff isn't especially warm or chatty, they are attentive and managing multiple tables at once. The restaurant itself feels a bit too small for its popularity. I do appreciate the decor and atmosphere, but be prepared to sit very close to other diners, and you may even share a table with another party during busy times. Overall, the customizable ramen and efficient service make it worth the visit.

The food at this outlet is as good as the other outlets of Ramen Nagi. Always plan for around 30 min wait time in the queue. Good thing is they take your order when you are in the queue. All have loved their service and the ambience. Once you arrive in the restaurant, you'll get food in no time. The servers are really nice. Just that this outlet is in the mall. Apart from that everything is nice.

Came here right away during lunch yesterday with coworkers there was surprisingly a small line when we got here, wait was about 10 mins probably. This is probably my third time trying it out and I must say I don't know what the hype and craze is all about with ramen nagi. While waiting the worker up front in the line handed out papers and a marker to mark out what you wanted for your bowl and other things, I got the original king, light salt, and normal everything. To be honest the ramen isn't all that here the flavoring just didn't taste like ramen. I rather go to HiroNori Ramen. Staff and ambience is great. In the end I wouldn't want to wait in a long line if it ever happens for some mediocre ramen like that.

I love how customizable their broth are! I went around 1:30 pm on a thursday and the line went pretty quickly I was in and out within an hour. I like getting extra light for the salt of the broth (it's not on the paper but you can write it in!) I like it light since I can taste the umami of the broth and you can add the seasonings on the table to adjust to your liking.

I tried this place for the first time to see what the hype was about and I get it. The ramen is actually very flavorful and the portion size was perfect for me. I ended up getting the Red King and you're able to adjust the spice to your preference. I like how customizable the process is when it comes to your food. The peppery bean sprouts they give on the table are so yummy too lol. I appreciate the service here as everyone is super kind and accommodating. We luckily came a little after they opened on a Sunday, so the line and wait weren't bad at all.

I haven't been to ramen nagi in a cool min. The line is always so long so it deters me from going. I was craving ramen so bad so I thought why not? I timed it and it took 1 hour 5 mins to get seated. I appreciate their efficient process. They hand out a paper menu and a pen to fill out customizations on ramen preference along with figuring out how many people are per party. We got seated at a shared table. It's a bit crowded in the restaurant since it's so small. I do want them to expand so there's more space. I got the red king with kakuni pork and an egg. I love adding the side of bean sprouts as well. I got level 7 and felt like it wasn't that spicy :o I definitely want to try level 9 next time!

As a big ramen person, i'd say this is on the sweeter side. I do love the customizations they allow and their soup is richer than other places. I have tried most of the things on their menu and their appetizers don't disappoint. While there is always a line the wait goes by pretty fast and I love how as soon as you sit you order. The staff is very endearing and always make sure even your water is full.

When my ramen-savvy friend told me that Ramen Nagi is her favorite ramen in the US, I knew we had to come here for our next get-together. We braved the line at 11:30 AM, which by that time, had already snaked its way around the corner. While we waited, a server came by to explain the ordering process and handed us order sheets to create our custom bowls. I followed my friend's lead and ordered the Red King (spicy) with thick noodles, chashu, and spice level 6. We also split a plate of chicken karaage. We ended up waiting in line for about 40-45 minutes before getting seated at the bar. Upon being seated, our chicken karaage was immediately served, followed by our bowls of ramen five minutes later. I have no idea how our food was prepared so quickly - and it would have been nice to have a few more minutes to enjoy the chicken karaage appetizer - but everything tasted super fresh. The chicken karaage was hot and perfectly crispy, and it was lightly glazed in a slightly sweet sauce. The Red King ramen delivered a strong kick with a hot but not overly aggressive spicy broth, and the noodles were perfectly-cooked to an al-dente texture. To my surprise, the ramen was topped with a meatball in addition to the chashu. Each slurp of broth and noodles was superb, but about halfway through, the heat was starting to build up. We were in and out of the restaurant in less time than we spent waiting for a seat. When we left the restaurant, the line outside had grown substantially and wrapped even further around the corner.

Do the broths have dairy in it?

The Vegi has Dairy in broth. The Black king has yogurt sauce in the toppings and the Green king has parmigiana cheese.

Can they accommodate large parties or take reservations for such?

You need to call the place. Their indoor is a small space but they have more seating for their outdoor and they have heating provided.

    Do they accept cash?

    Cashless payments only

Food looks good. Any alcohol though?

My family and I ate there recently and there was no alcohol on the menu. Otherwise I would have ordered some saki for sure. The food and service is amazing though! I highly recommend!

The gyoza here were really awesome, but the past 3 times over the past few months each time I have gone they have no had gyoza. Do they still do gyoza here?

    Yes they do

    Can you order to go?

no, but this place allows you to take leftovers home from what I remember

    Are dogs allowed?

    Nope

Do all the broths pork based?

No, they have a vegetarian broth.

I have a nut allergy and some ramens use peanut oil. Is this ramen place nut free?

My daughter is also nut and seafood allergy, she had ramens at Ramen Nagi many times, she was fine every time. And she loves ramen :)

Are the bean sprouts back yet?

They were there when I went today, 09/26/2022. No pickled mustard though.

Hey, does anyone know what the menu looks like? I couldn't see it in the 200 pics of it on Yelp. Can someone take another one? This is sarcasm.

Does anyone know what the wait is on a weekday night?

Can range between 20mins to one hour.

What is their phone number? I'd like to order takeout.

Hey, Ramen Nagi in Santa Clara does not currently offer take out. They only have an email address for inquiry though: info@ramennagiusa.com

Are there any gluten free options?

    Don't think so

    To go option?

No, they don't do to go or take out. Even during the height of the pandemic when many restaurants shifted to take out options, Ramen Nagi apparently didn't want to sacrifice quality so they stayed closed instead of offering take out.

When will the sprouts and cabbage condiments come back?

    They are back now

Do they still accept cash? just wondering because some of the other places nearby were only accepting card/online forms of payment.

    Yes they accept cash :)

How long do you have to wait on a Saturday around 6?

Prepare to wait upwards to 2 hours.

When should I start getting in line on a Sunday dinner?

My friend said he waited 2 hours

I ordered the Shiromaru Classic, Ippudo's original signature tonkotsu ramen featuring a rich pork-based broth, thin Hakata-style noodles, and chashu. The broth was good as always, and the noodles were fine, but I was a little disappointed with the chashu. It wasn't as tender as I remember it being, and what surprised me most was that the slices weren't particularly thick, yet they were still noticeably tough. In my opinion, chashu is one of the most important components of a good bowl of ramen, so this really stood out. I also ordered a side of takana, which is spicy pickled mustard greens that add a salty, tangy kick to the ramen. Unfortunately, they forgot to include it in my takeout order. Luckily, I was only a 3-minute walk from the restaurant, so it wasn't a huge inconvenience to walk back and pick it up. One thing I did like was that there wasn't much of a wait compared with what I remember from previous years. I went on a Saturday around lunchtime and was able to get my order pretty quickly. Since I was getting takeout, there isn't much to say about the service, but everything was straightforward. I've been to this location a few times in the past and remember it being excellent, so I'll likely come back again. Hopefully the chashu is back to what I remember next time.
