New found love of Ramen. Great deals, online order system super easy to use. When eating inside, who doesn't love a free ice cream cone!

Miyazaki Japanese Take Away - Hake don

I had heard of Miyazaki because their sister restaurant, Ichigo Ichie, has a Michelin star. While Ichigo is expensive and difficult to grab a table at, Miyazaki is more affordable and offers both takeaway and dining in their small seating area. I've also heard that you can also take the food to go and eat it at O'Sho, the pub across the street, as the two spots have a partnership. I asked for the staff members' recommendation and she said the Hake Don was her favorite. I took her suggestion and enjoyed the fried whitefish over white rice with cucumber, green onions, sesame seeds, and a delicious sauce. I was lucky enough to grab a stool and eat there but the place quickly filled up as the night continued. I would definitely recommend adding this place to your list when visiting Cork. I was impressed to find such amazing Japanese food place (in Ireland of all places???) and would totally return if I'm back in the area.

I was so excited to try out this place!…read more I've never experienced Sushi in Ireland in anywhere other than Dublin because it's unfortunately just not available! So I thought Cork would be a real treat. I arrived into town at 11am ready to have my sushi breakfast, but alas it wasn't open until 12pm so I meandered around town, getting a greater appetite and returned back promptly a 12pm, I was so happy to see the door was open! :) I ordered the salmon sushi, which you can see if you view my pictures of the place, the girl who served me was polite and friendly. What suprised me was the size of the sushi when I received it, it was tiny! So small! My heart sank when I saw the size of it, 8 pieces, each piece was about the size of 2 euro coin. This cost me 8.50, so value for money it definetly isn't. I was still hungry after it! I can't fault the food though, it was fresh and tasty with some unusual herbs thrown in I hadn't experience before, very nice. I had a look at their bento boxes, and they were over 9 euro and looked very small too with very small side portion of salad. Lovely food but tiny portions. Hopefully in the future they could make bigger portions for the same money, because both my tummy and purse felt very empty by the time I left!

Healthy organic vegetarian/vegan food in Cork Hidden gem!…read more Food **** Absolutely delicious. We got the special which was a Malaysian vegetable curry with spicy apple chutney. We also ordered the Nut loaf which was an absolute must - one of the best dishes we've had in a while - comes with roasted potatoes and roasted root vegetables. SO GOOD! Atmosphere **** Very cute restaurant located on the second floor of a health food store but has an upscale feel. Parking can be tricky but we got a spot on the street near the restaurant and then you can purchase a parking pass for 2 euro at the food shop on the first floor. Service **** Great service and relaxed. Also bathrooms available. Price $$ Dishes were around 15 euro each.

I couldn't help but to notice the portion differences for the sides. Ours was much less..but anyways, I loved the burger. The coolest thing about veggie burgers is that it is always different. No veggie burger will ever taste the same unless it's not homemade. The choice of toppings and bun was grand too. It seemed like a multi-grain bun. The patty was so rich in flavor. I was not impressed with the Shepherd's pie. It was just a mush of grains. I was expecting something similar to a veggie pot pie. It was good but it was a dish I usually make at home minus the top. The sides were quite natural - quick toss to cook them with minimal seasoning. If you are feeling healthy and not up for extreme flavor, this is a safe choice. Portions are filling and staff are friendly. The restrooms are located upstairs.
