Simply amazing!! I've often walked past and finally ventured in 30 minutes after opening. When I tell you, this place was PACKED!!! Oh my word! Definitely a popular spot. Despite this, my friend and I were quickly seated and given menus and tea. I found the menu a bit overwhelming. So many options and all of them looked delicious. I decided to get the spicy seafood udon. When we ordered our server let us know there would be a wait as the kitchen was busy. The wait was only about 20 minutes actually. My udon was DELICIOUS!! there was so much seafood in it and the noodles were to die for!!!! My only complaint is that it wasn't really spicy, but I've noticed a lot of food here isn't as spicy as what I am used to. Miso soup was also lovely as was the soft shell crab appetizer. I'd prefer to give 3.5 stars if I could, reasoning below. The food was very good and it's a quaint spot in downtown Cork on the second level of a building. We enjoyed our food and drinks so for that aspect of the experience I'd recommend. But we had issues with the host and service. We showed up around 7:00 p.m. for dinner and asked the host to be seated for two, she told me there was over a half hour wait. We stood there waiting for her to take our name, ask for a contact but nothing. So we stood there awkwardly for a minute and asked if there was a wait-list or something we could get on. She took my name and that she would call me on Whatsapp on 30m or when a table opened up. Half hour went by, 40 minutes went by and no call, so my fiance and I walked back just to check on what happened and literally we walked into a near empty restaurant with the same host just standing around not doing anything! She did not care about us, our business , and couldn't be bothered to call back patrons so that left a bad impression. The young servers were nice, seemed like children of the owners but it took forever to get our check and have someone to help close out our tab. I'm not sure what's going on there, I'm glad they are popular and get busy at times but they need to learn to treat all of their customers with respect and follow through when they say they will. The host gets 1 star and her performance should be evaluated by her manager. read more

This was a little hard to find being located on the second floor there is a small curtained door that you need to walk to. The place is very nice. With light music playing in the background and very friendly servers it has a very mellow atmosphere. I was brought green table as soon as I sat down without even having to ask for it. I ordered the rainbow roll and the dragon rolls thinking that this would be enough. I was a little disappointed that each of the rolls only came with 4 pieces. It seems a little expensive for what your getting. The food itself was just ok. Not spectacular in any way just a little plain. Not having tried any other sushi places in the area I cannot compare if this is the standard here but I have definitely had better back home. read more

Sushi was ok I had the rainbow roll; a lot of rice & not a lot of fish or flavor. Ramen was ok as well I ordered the chicken teriyaki ramen; chicken was fried & served on the side. Not typical of any other ramen I have eaten, I would not have ordered it had I known it was fried & cooked separately from the ramen. Ramen broth did not have much flavor either. I would get the ramen again but definitely would go for vegetable version to see if that is better and flavor profile is there. read more

A clear concept for a restaurant. It is just unfortunate, that just the entrance of the restaurant is visible, since the restaurant is on the first floor. The staff is fast, friendly and pays attention. I never got the fork, knife etc in a box. The food was amazing, I ordered a Korean dish, see picture, with different pieces of meat and noodles and veggies. The tea was complimentary. Wabisabi is good for what it is. Cork isn't exactly a city where you'd expect world class sushi but when you have a craving Wabasabi gets the job done. My ramen was delicious, and the chicken teriyaki itself was phenomenal. (Not exaggerating when I say that it was the best chicken teriyaki I've ever had) It was very authentic. My boyfriend got a miso soup before his steak came and it was very flavourful! In the soup was green onions, tofu, and mussels. The staff was very friendly, and always around. Did not enjoy my experience at Wabisabi. I was there twice, ordered the nigiri both times. First time I went there was for lunch and the nigiri was ok, but the sushi rice was warm - I know it shouldn't be cold but it was as if they didn't cool the rice properly before making the nigiri! The second time I was hoping the first time I went was their bad day. The rice was even warmer and the fish didn't seem to be good quality. I think it's better to go for non-traditional dishes if you eat here. read more

Working in a Japanese owned sushi restaurant in Florida for 6 years there is one golden rule. If the sushi rice is good, and the miso is good...bets are on that the quality is good. My first step is always to order a bowl each. I then will decide if I will put my money on the table for a roll. This place is tasty although they cut there rolls way too big...a hosomaki roll should be minimum 6 with the 4 piece cut here you could choke on your spicy tuna. The vibe could be really cool, with J-pop playing from the kitchen, wish it was in the whole place though! It would add to the ambience which is a bit lacking. read more

Second time going to this place and I really liked it. It's on a second floor so the entrance it's not very obvious. That means that even though it is in the city centre, it's normally very quiet. The sushi selection is great, we loved the chef's special. I wouldn't recommend dumplings unless you really love garlic. They also have a great selection of noodles and ramen, and the staff is very attentive: you will never run out of green tea! Highly recommend it, and the price is also really good. read more
