Best Chinese food in the 6 cities we visited in Ireland. Very authentic original Chinese food. Sorry for the poor lighting.

Authentic Chinese food prepared and served in a beautifully appointed decor provides for a relaxed dining experience. The aromas of the cooking fill the senses. The friendly staff was helpful and efficient. Our party of four was extremely pleased with our choices. The dim sum pork steamed dumplings were very tasty. The Spring Rolls were light and crispy. The Chicken Satay was so tender and well sauced, absolutely delicious. The Chicken Chow Mein, The House Fried Rice, The Chicken Fried Rice were all perfectly prepared with fresh tasty ingredients, served piping hot and had just the right amount of spiciness. The Soup Special of the Day was delightful, tiny cubes of white chicken breast meat, mouthwatering broth and egg drop made this steaming hot soup very pleasing. Portion sizes were ample and prices very reasonable for the outstanding quality of the food. A great choice!

This place is scrumptiously decorated with objects of old-world craftsmanship, and it serves authentic Cantonese cuisine that is different to find anywhere outside Hong or China.

My favorite Chinese in Cork. Lovely staff, classy ambiance and gorgeous food. One of few places you can get Dim Sum (as for the menu). Especially love the salt & pepper squid, Roast duck hotpot, prawns in black pepper sauce and their curry.

    Chicken Chow Mein

An amazing find in the heart of County Cork! We were tired of pub grub, so we decided to branch out, get a little adventuresome and go for Chinese. We literally stumbled across this place, and decided, "What the Heck?". It was great. It was very slow (only two tables were occupied), but the place had a cozy feel to it. Our waiter was terrific and was very chatty. Our meal started off with these crispy, puffy snacks which reminded me of Munchos potato chips. Delicious. We then went on to have the Amber Fire Filet Steak, chicken chow mein, and fried rice. It was all wonderful. When you want something different in Ireland - this is the place to get your Chinese food fix!! (Be sure to check out their web site - the menu is HUGE)

"The spring rolls, dumplings, and sweet and sour pork were great!" Per my somewhat picky 11 year old.

The food was amazing, service I will rate them a 10/10; and they catered to my 3 kids even though they don't have a kids menu!

The rice was also very hard and in clumps. The beef dish we got had overcooked beef, and the stir-fry sauce was very wet/soupy and much too sweet.

Along the way I had the ubiquitous Guinness, bought some books (both a short history of Ireland as well as a history of the Seattle Mariners, of all things), checked out Oliver Plunkett Street (presumably not related to Jim), and noted the prevalence of shopping opportunities. I did not take a good roll call for restaurants, so when it came time for dinner, we had to essentially start from scratch. There were fast food restaurants. There were pubs. But we had tired of the latter, and not willing to stoop to the former, so we found ourselves searching a little bit. Finally we found ourselves at Ting Sing, which would be our second Asian excursion in a week (the other being a Thai restaurant in Dublin, which didn't go so well). Happy to say that this choice was considerably more productive. Yes, it was a bit humid, and the restaurant was obviously pressed to make its patrons (and employees) comfortable. And there was a group of women who didn't seem to realize that yes, they were in a restaurant, and not everybody appreciates it when they block aisles so that they can gossip. But the food was damn delicious - I don't care if it's 'authentic' or not (side note: That has to be the lamest comment made on Yelp - or elsewhere - as long as it's good, I really don't care if it qualifies as authentic). I ordered red chicken curry, which filled me belly as well as I could've wanted, and washed it down with a Wicklow Wolf, yet another offering I need to look up in the states. So, by and large, Tung Sing is a pretty decent option in Ireland's second largest city.

The quality / quantity is good, the staff is attentive. It is always nice for lunch, but not for a long dinner evening. It is a feeling and I might be wrong. We once celebrated a birthday party with 20 people there, it was obviously too much for the kitchen staff, since some plates came more that 40 minutes after the order had been set. Some nearly finished their meal, while other were still waiting. Very bad impression.

When I discovered they catered to Coeliacs, I was delighted and told everyone about how good the food was and reasonably priced. However, last saturday night my reaction was the complete opposite: I ordered a delivery to come to my house at 6pm on 02/11/13. At 7pm the delivery hadnt arrived I rang Eden, asking where my delivery was and I was informed that delivery started at 6.30pm, yet on the website it states 6pm is the start time. I was not informed of this when I made my order. I asked for a reduction in price but that wasnt possible according to the girl who worked there. The attitude of the girl who worked was awful and was in no way in what I would describe ''customer service''. She claimed the delivery would be with me in a few minutes. I waited 5 minutes and the delivery came, paid the delivery man and took the food. After waiting 1 hour, the order I received was wrong. I rang back and spoke to the manager Dave who shouted down the phone at me and gave me abuse. He was very nasty, and to date this is the worst customer service I've received to date. I am appalled at the way I was treated. I requested my money back and was told by Dave that he would bring the money personally to my door within the next few minutes. 40 minutes later, still no money, my boyfriend rang up this time requesting to speak to Dave, and demanded he aplogise to me as he could hear the way Dave spoke to me on the phone previously. Dave apologised after 5 minutes of my boyfriend being on the phone, Dave was rude arrogant and very nasty and did nothing but try and belittle me as a customer. After an hour waiting for the food to arrive and then another hour waiting for my money back, I was appalled at the way I was treated and was shocked that people think its acceptable to speak to other human beings that way. If you are reading this and you feel this kind of treatment is not acceptable then I would advise you not to go to this restaurant as this is the kind of treatment you will receive. I work in a customer service based environment myself and would not want anyone to be treated the way I was. Their motto states ''"If you like what we do,please tell others; If you don't,please tell us - Thank you" - that is what I did and that is the treatment I got and I will be sure to tell everyone I know!!
