The place was small but felt newly remodeled and like all the other restaurants in Ireland so far, the staff was very nice. We had pasta (penne Bolognese) and a spicy pepper and sausage pizza. Both were good, not the best we've ever had but we were happy with our decision to go there. After we ate, we started chatting with the couple next to us. We were impressed that they managed to eat a plate of chicken wings as a starter and soup, followed by a full Irish dinner for him, and a large salad for her. They were likely equally impressed that we finished our pizza, garlic bread and most of the pasta, followed by a HUGE piece of chocolate cake and ice cream! The only negative review about this little restaurant was that the bathroom was dirty. We would still recommend, and hopefully that's a non-issue for anyone else. It was gone 9pm on a Sunday so we were unsure we'd find anything open, alas Mio shone out through the dark and rainy night. We entered the restaurant to the sound of Bob Dylan and were greeted by a tiny, very smiley lady who seated us and took our order - one American Hot pizza and the pizza on the specials board - red onion marmalade, feta and sun-dried tomatoes. When the pizzas arrived we were delighted - they couldn't possibly have been more generous with the toppings! There was feta-galore on the special and a pepperoni bomb had exploded all over the American Hot. We ordered 2 side salads which were also generous (although do specify if you don't want red onion - there was a lot). The pizzas were home made so the base was lovely and thin with just the right amount of softness and crispiness. My only issue is that I'm pretty sure the toilets are haunted - they're located just upstairs from the restaurant and although they were very clean and nice I'm convinced there was a ghostly presence. It followed me back down the stairs and gave me the chills. Still, can't be helped I suppose! And with pizzas that good I'm willing to put up with the spirits!

After watching one customer go to the bar to get his check, we agreed to wait five more minutes for the server to take our drink order...or to at least offer us some water. I have to say we were shocked and despite sending an email to Emilianos we have not heard a word or any acknowledgement of what the great need was to remove us from our table to accommodate 4 young people. We felt very much used and abused at the attitude. IT WAS NOT BUSY IN THE RESTAURANT. We didn't know and were not made aware that they needed the table but they had no problem ousting us to a nearby table several of which were vacant at that time. I would like an apology from Emilianos for treating us as if we truly did not matter. It is great having lovely food but if you cannot be treated with dignity and respect WHAT IS THE POINT. Our friends from Spain could not believe what was happening that we had to move to accommodate four youngsters. It was an experience that none of us are likely to forget. Emiliano would do well to remember that if you have a good experience you tell approximately 2-3 others but if you have a bad experience it is anyting from 15 up.
