The soup needed salt and needed to stew a bit longer as the veggies were a bit harder than they should be. The soup was served with a piece of ciabatta bread which was larger than a 6" sub at Subway. In fact, the length of the bread was equal to the diameter of my 7" pizza! My husband ordered the pepperoni plus calzone and it was very large and he said that overall it was good but needed to be baked for a couple more minutes. One thing to note is that the delivery man had hotel reception ring our room upon arrival. This is nice to note because we were left under the impression that we would have to head down to the hotel lobby 30 minutes after placing our order to wait for the delivery. Well, we got tired of the few traditional Irish dishes and were craving something different. The owners are from Northern Italy, so the food is quite a treat compared to what you usually experience in America. Plenty of pizza choices (both vegan and non vegan), as well as a good variety of pasta dishes, desserts, and drinks. We ordered the Delizia (€12.50 for the 9" or €14.50 for the 12" pie). It consisted of spicy salami, Italian bacon, red onion, mozzarella cheese, and we added black olives for an extra €1. And they didn't skimp on the black olives folks (see the pic). They were whole olives, and not slices, like we are used to in the states. Gotta love that! We also ordered the 9" Vegetariana for €10.80. It had tasty tomato sauce, aubergines (AKA eggplant), courgettes (AKA zucchini), a touch of basil, and roasted red peppers. No cheese on this one, since it was listed as a vegan option. The food was so fresh here, and the best part of it all was the crust and the tomato sauce on each pizza. Service was OK. The food came out in a timely manner, and the girl running the front operations was friendly and courteous. However, I must deduct one star because she didn't pay enough attention to our drink refill requests. She was occupied with what appeared to be one of the town locals who stops in for a pint and just sits and has conversations with the staff. I guess that happens in a lot of small towns. I can get past that though, I would drop by here again, in a heartbeat. No private parking lot - you have to park on the street. Two hour free street parking, but I advise leaving your car parked at the Blarney Castle if you just came from there, and just walk the short distance to this place. Bottled beer is €3.50, pints are €4.95, a glass of merlot is €6.70.

It's mostly a takeaway spot, but there are a handful of small bar stools. Don't expect any pleasantries here. You just order a slice (3 euro) and a couple minutes later, it's delivered in wax paper. I wouldn't call it excellent pizza by any means. It was fairly greasy with a doughy crust that didn't appeal to me much. I probably would have enjoyed the slice more after a night at the local pubs, but as a sober stomach filler, it was fine and did the trick.

Perhaps the rush was partly down to the promotional voucher in the local Evening Echo that gives you one free pizza for each ordered. Not a bad offer at all so I said I try it out. We started with a little intro, some marinated olives in one bowl and Rustica Tomatoes in another, each costing €2.95 and each very very tasty indeed. Promising. Pizza is the order of the day here and you see the three chef conveyor line in front of you if you have a seat in the back half of the well lit, well laid out establishment. We both order the Il Padrino (€13.95), torn chicken with rustica tomatoes and a mix of chargrilled Italian vegetables, on a rich sauce of tomato and pesto. It was a smashing pizza, tasty and moist and gone too soon. Not a big choice of wines but do you really need a big choice for pizzas? Bottles will cost you around €23-24 while you can get a glass for about €6.50 or a 25cl serving for eight or nine euro. Finished off the Italian way, something sweet with the coffee. We didn't want a full dessert so settled for the new introduction which is called Semi Freddo Reale: Creamy gelato dessert made with nougat, praline and marsala wine, served with a shot of espresso on the side.
