On Friday night, 3rd September 2010 at 7.15pm, I rang Pizza Plus in Midleton to order a delivery. I ordered a 16" pizza and they took my land-line number. I kept the phone with me (cordless). My wife and I watched a Santa movie with our son who is almost 4 years old. At 8.55 (1 hour 20 minutes) the pizza hadn't arrived so I rang them back to check and the girl ("Girl A") who answered said "The driver couldn't find you. I will pass you on to "Girl B" who will take your directions again." I gave same the directions and she said when the driver comes back from other deliveries, she would get him to bring your pizza. I was picturing a horrible solid lump of pizza that was cooked almost an hour and a half ago, but she said she would check it was okay. When I got off the phone, I was wondering why the guy didn't ring, like all other delivery drivers do if they are on the way and don't know where you are. I rang back and asked Girl A what happened.
Kerrrr-klunk! [sound of someone hanging up the phone]. Call dead. She hung up on me.
So to summarise:
- they took my order and phone number
- 1 hour 20 mins later it wasn't here
- they wanted to send me a pizza that would be at least 1 and a half hours old (yuck)
- the driver couldn't make a phone call
- they hung up on me
