I'm still trying to find the right words to describe today's experience. This was our second visit with the doctor for my four-month-old son, who has been struggling with severe eczema flare-ups all over his body and scalp. We've tried multiple approaches to identify the cause, so we were hoping for some answers. Today's appointment was a skin check. The nurse applied two test panels and waited 20 minutes for the results. To my untrained eye, it was clear that two spots showed a reaction. When the doctor came in, she reviewed the spots, made a few notes, and then suggested scheduling another appointment three days later. When I asked why we had to wait for the results--especially since she had just looked at the reaction--her response shocked me: she said it was because insurance doesn't pay for her time and that today's visit only reimbursed $10. Not to mention our $50 co-pay. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was painfully clear that the focus was on insurance and money rather than the welfare of my child. I left with a four-month-old baby who now has inflamed spots on his back, and still no answers. I hope no other parents have to experience this kind of prioritization of insurance over patient care. read more

Went to review this place and Dr. Ramadas, but I noticed they are permanently closed. Just wanted to say they're cash cows. I went for YEARS. Over 10 years.... And never got a solution to help my asthma or allergies. The receptionist was rude for a very very long time, for as long as I could remember and Dr. Ramadas never gave me any treatments to help my asthma or allergies. Yes, she is kind, but all she did was have me do a breathing exercise or test every once in awhile and gave me inhalers which I could have gotten from my general doctor. I ended up stopping my allergy or asthma meds she gave me for years and I got diagnosed elsewhere right away. I'm sad I wasted thousands of dollars over the years to go here and never got any sort of answers or help. Glad this practice is closed. read more

Just got off the phone with front office person, her name is Sue She's extremely rude, and sounds like she's in a rush- Just wants to get off the phone with you. We were told that our appointment was canceled because the Dr. tested positive for COVID I recognized her voice on the voicemail as well, saying that we missed our appointment So I called to say- listen don't charge us for a no show It's not our fault She says well Dr was back on the 8th to see patients We never got that reminder Anyways- She is the soul reason why I didn't reschedule. read more

We were recommended to this allergist by our pediatrician Dr. Saul. The office was run very smoothly, and our visit went well. We enjoyed meeting with this doctor two times. This review is delayed, but we went when my son was a baby. They did an allergy test by putting it on his back and waiting. It's very difficult with a wiggling child, but we got it done. We had to come back a different day for the results from what I remember. She offered some good suggestions about how to maintain my son's eczema. I remember she suggested using a little bit of bleach in the bath to kill out the bacteria. read more

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Ramadas to treat my diabilitating allergy symptons! After a disapointing experience with a different allergist in Thousand Oaks, I am restored and hopeful about the kind, gentle and effective services of Dr. Ramadas and her competent staff. They are all welcoming, stable and effective in their medical profession, and appreciate the way I am treated! The extended hours of allergy shots is so helpful,. And most of all, the foresight from Dr. Ramadas to recommend, based upon my symptons, to advise me to get a medical consultation by an ENT and Sleep Study company has been extremely helpful. I did so, and found out that I have sleep apnea, which I am now being treated for, and I have 90% obstruction in my right nostril for which I will have surgery from Cedar's next month! Can't wait to breath again! Dr. Ramadas has high integrity and never charges for services that were not rendered. (This, unfortunately, happened to me before by a different doctor.) I would personally give Dr. Ramadas 5 stars as she was amazing with my son...however, the office staff is responsible for the poor rating. I'm a busy mom with a lot on my plate and getting the reminder phone call letting me know my appointment is ready is a convenience I come to rely on. I had made an appointment for my son and a week later I realized that I had booked it during a camping trip that was already planned. I called the office and spoke to a staff member and told her I needed to change my appointment. It wasn't a problem (or so I thought) and I made the appointment for a few weeks later. I received a phone call during my camping trip and was shocked to see that it was Dr. Ramadas' office. The staff member rudely told me I missed an appointment and when I tried to explain to her that I had rescheduled, she wasn't having it. "Our records show you received a reminder phone call two days ago...". What? I put her on speaker phone and checked my recent missed calls. I had nothing from the office. I told the receptionist that I didn't have any missed calls from her but she refused to listen. "Our records show that the call was made and that you answered". Now I definitely knew she was lying because I NEVER answer my phone. I told her I definitely did not answer the phone but she was very rude and kept saying "our computer says you answered". "Is it possible I'm in the system for both days?" I asked the receptionist "No. Do you want to reschedule?" I told her I was certain I had made another appointment but she was adamant that there was no way she could be wrong. So I made an appointment again. I put it in my phone this time with TWO alarm reminders. A few weeks later I get a voicemail "you missed an appointment you had with Dr. Ramadas..." Are you kidding me? I called and talked to someone different (thank God) who explained to me that there were no other appointments for me listed. I was beyond irritated and explained to the lady about what had happened and she suggested I call back and talk to the woman who "usually handled appoints." I decided I would go into the office in person and make the appointment next time. Well, my busy life got in the way and two weeks passed. My son is out of his skin ointment so I call my pharmacy to request a refill. They had to call Dr. Ramadas' office for approval. I had missed a call from Dr. Ramadas' office while I was cooking dinner but that's okay, they decided to call my wife. The staff member was very rude to my wife and when she asked them if they had called me the staff member rudely said "we have called your wife and she refuses to show up to her appointments. Maybe you can relay the message." My wife proceeded to explain to her about the appointment snafus and the woman on the phone HUNG UP ON HER. Refused to even listen! That was the last straw for me. Dr. Ramadas is great and very pleasant to interact with... the receptionist is very unpleasant and the "missed appointment" fee is way too large for the office to continually make mistakes like this...especially if they aren't even willing to accept that they could have made a mistake. read more

The doctor is nice but the office staff are awful. They forget about you, the constantly gossip, and even caught one of the nurses sleeping on the job. They won't even apologize when they make a mistake. Office hours are limited as well. My recommendation - find a different doctor. read more

Dr. Ramadas is the best allergist I have ever had (and I've had quite a few). She is thorough, professional, and she takes the time to figure out what each patient needs. Plus, she makes an effort to prescribe little to no medication. If a condition can be treated without medicine, she will try that teatment first. When I describe Dr. Ramadas to friends, I usually say she's a sleuth. She never stops trying to help you find the best way to uncover and deal with your allergy and asthma related issues. I honestly can't believe a doctor of this caliber actually exists. She is the ultimate pro and expert, and I couldn't have been more satisfied. (1) Front office staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. They actually said, "Nice to meet you," when I entered and when I left. (2) Short wait time to get in. Under 10 mins. (3) Dr. Ramadas spent about 15 mins. discussing my issues, and it was quite clear that she really cares about her patients. On a scale of 1-10, my first visit with her was a 10. Well, after seeing 3 different dermatologist and the same amount of allergist's I guess as they say the third time is a charm. Why? Well, for three years I've been going to my GP and then dermatologists for what started out as poison oak from a hike and was subsequently diagnosed as "Eczema" with Dermatologists. Subsequently it wouldn't get better despite get all kinds of stuff to treat it first from the GP and then specialists (Dermatologists) telling me it's due to allergies, and I need to moisturize my skin. Despite doing all this stuff NONE of what they told me worked. Well, on the advise of a hiking friend I called to schedule an appointment with this allergist. In the meantime my skin got so bad that I called the Dermatologist in Simi that I've been seeing and he looked me over and somewhat bored told me that I'm scratching so much that I'm creating more skin from which the eczema is breaking out on. I showed him my back and the same thing (except that part on my back that were broken out I couldn't even physically get to. So , he recommended another type of topical steroid. I asked if in fact it wasn't more powerful that it would thin my skin the way the others were and said yes. In any I took the RX's and had a shot that seems to knock it out the current flare up. I dropped of the RX and saw Dr Ramadas four days later. After she looked me over she asked me how long these open sores were there- told her I've been dealing with this for 3 years. She was surprised. I was so frustrated I wasn't expecting any difference when she stated that I had a staph infection and was writing a RX and asked if I had a RX for Staph before. I said no- this was the first. She wrote it and scheduled blood work for allergies but stated that I was so flared up that she couldn't do any skin tests based on my current condition. I had a follow up visit 2 weeks later (today) and my skin was much better. She explained that the symptoms I was experiencing was the result of Staph and NOT eczema. As I have never had eczema prior this it is all making sense. So, in conclusion I'm on the mend and my quality of life is much better. read more

Dr Ramadas was recommended to me by my internist, who I like and respect a lot. She seemed to be a good doctor at first, and is certainly highly qualified and perfectly polite. I explained that my issues were both respiratory and digestive, and she first tested me for environmental allergens. I also asked to be tested for food allergies and even though I asked for a comprehensive panel she only tested my for a dozen allergens (a comprehensive panel should have over 70). She said that she didn't need to do more even though my digestive issues were severe. I started allergy shots and sticked with them for a whole year, going twice a week for the first 4 months. I ended up paying for almost everything but the initial consult as for some reason my individual policy with Blue Shield did not cover the treatment, even though I appealed and tried to figure out how to get them covered. I gave up and shelled out over $1200 at the end of the first six months of shots. Then in January, the office advised me that Dr Ramadas would no longer accept my policy because it had been bundled with the exchange policies created thanks to the Affordable Care act. So since Dr Ramadas had opted out of Obamacare, my expensive individual Blue Shield policy would no longer be accepted by her. Since I was down to one shot every 3 weeks (maintenance dosage), I sticked around for another 6 months but then I was asked to schedule yet another appointment with the doctor, and I just no longer felt like paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket. So I scheduled an appointment with Dr Mosher, who is fantastic and accepts almost all policies. Unfortunately I have to start over with the shots, which represents a huge amount of time wasted for me. So I do not doubt what the other reviews said, but it is clear that Dr Ramadas cares only about rich people, and apparently I am not rich enough for her to care about my health. The staff there is really nice, expect for that male accountant who keeps pestering me about $10 he says I owe them even though I settled my balance the last time I got a shot and had specifically requested to pay for all services due up until that day. And by the way, my new "poor people" doctor is better, and the offices and staff are even nicer too. It is aggravating to realize I wasted so much time with a doctor who truly cares about money first and does not believe that affordable care should be available to all Americans. Sad. read more
