Everything
To Whom It May Concern,
This letter serves to formally express our profound disappointment and strong dissatisfaction with the real estate services provided by Jake Ralston and his associate, Kendel, concerning the recent purchase of our new home. The experience has been exceptionally distressing and deviates significantly from any professional standard of care we have encountered in previous property transactions.
Our primary concern revolves around the egregious mishandling of a pre-existing reverse osmosis system. Despite explicit assurances that this issue would be professionally resolved, the execution was alarmingly negligent. Rather than engaging a qualified technician, an unvetted individual, seemingly operating without proper licensing or bonding, was dispatched. This individual, compensated a mere $50, demonstrated a complete lack of competence, failing to diagnose or rectify the problem and inadvertently almost causing damage to our tiled flooring by dropping tools. His need for remote guidance to even attempt a repair underscored his fundamental unsuitability for addressing a complex plumbing system. Ultimately, we were compelled to engage independent, licensed plumbers, both of whom confirmed the system was irreparable and required complete replacement, resulting in significant and unforeseen expenses for us.
Following this development, my husband approached Jake Ralston with a proposal for a fair resolution: a 50/50 cost-sharing arrangement between his Realty company and the other involved agency. To our dismay, this reasonable request was met with an immediate and unyielding refusal for any assistance. More disturbingly, we later ascertained that Mr. Ralston never even contacted the other Realty company to convey our proposal. This evident lack of follow-through and disregard for client advocacy is unacceptable.
In stark contrast, when we directly engaged with the other Realty company, they demonstrated exemplary professionalism and a genuine commitment to ensuring a positive home-buying experience, readily agreeing to contribute their share. Their willingness to cooperate provided a welcome moment of integrity amidst an otherwise disheartening situation.
The entire closing process, culminating in the key handover, was strikingly devoid of any warmth, celebration, or professional courtesy. What should have been a joyful and momentous occasion--the culmination of a significant life event--was treated as a cold, perfunctory transaction. The complete absence of a welcoming gesture, a simple smile, or a congratulatory remark conveyed a palpable indifference, leaving us feeling undervalued as clients. Buying a new home is an inherently emotional and often strenuous journey, and to be met with such a lack of care at its conclusion transformed a moment of anticipated happiness into one of continued stress.
Adding to this litany of issues, the fundamental operational oversight regarding the lockbox removal was handled with shocking incompetence. For a full month and a half following the closing date, despite repeated communications from our end, the lockbox inexplicably remained on our property. It was only after we were forced to propose hiring a licensed contractor ourselves and presenting Mr. Ralston's office with the bill and the removed lockbox that this basic issue was finally addressed. This level of inaction and the necessity for us to resort to such measures is frankly astounding. It highlighted a consistent pattern of minimal engagement and a profound failure to provide even fundamental client support, especially considering that their primary active role during the entire transaction appeared limited to merely unlocking doors for property viewings.
Having successfully purchased and sold over nine properties in the past three decades, I can state unequivocally that this has been the most profoundly disheartening and unprofessional real estate experience I have ever encountered. The fundamental principles of integrity, respect, proactive client support, and client-focused service, which we have always expected in professional business dealings, were conspicuously absent throughout this entire process. We sincerely hope that no other clients are subjected to such a distressing and unsupportive experience.
Sincerely,
