Grocery Shopping: Let me get this straight: Prices are going through the roof at the grocery store. We are to wonder around aimlessly in the grocery store, because finding someone to help is virtually impossible, to eventually find out the store is out of stock of the item we just spent 20 minutes finding. We proceed to the check out where they want us to work for free as our own cashier. Then they charge us for the bag(s) we used to bag our own groceries. Then we load our car, drive home only to find out the $120.00 or more we spent equals two bags! I thought the airlines was bad. Enough!!!! read more

The floor in the men's rest room is disgusting. Either the urinal is overflowing or people are peeing on the floor. I have complained to them several times and even sent a complaint to the department of health. I went to Ralphs in a good mood this evening. The employee who works there, some lady, was never nice to me, and today she was especially embarrassed by her curt remarks and attitude, and unkind to me and my son despite being a balance card. Her counter was not busy, and she had no customers, but she was especially unkind to me. My good feelings got so bad because of her. I'm worried that her memory of Ralphs will get so bad. Because, this is my second time visiting your website, and I've had two complaints about her. If I get the same treatment from her for the third time, I'll think of another way. I stopped to have some coffee at Starbuck on Aliso creek Road in Aliso Viejo. I ordered a caramel macchiato venti hop. With a cheesecake & chocolate cake. They were very busy but I was able to order my dessert and get a table. It was a very good coffee drink, to complement my two desserts. The place was nice and clean. The cashier/server was nice and friendly. She was helpful in taking my order to my table. It was a pleasant experience for me. Then I walked outside and drove off to find my next review. I came here this morning and noticed their Starbucks iced beverages were on sale for $6.49, and if you buy 5 or more they become $5.49 each! There were only 5 left so I took the 5, they had other flavors like caramel macchiato and iced coffee that were also apart of their sale, but I liked the vanilla latte! My husband comes by and questions why I am getting so many and I point to the sale stickers! He agreed we should buy 5 so we can get the deal!.... I go check out and leave and looked at my receipt and realized it was charged as $8.49! I called to let them know there was a mistake and they said they will check, then came back and said they are not on sale, and there were no stickers! I sent my husband to go back to check himself bc we literally both saw the stickers 10 mins before and I thought maybe they weren't looking at the right place! He lets me know they removed it! I understand maybe they made a mistake and forgot to remove the stickers, but as a company they should honor the price they displayed and not lie about it! I love that I can place an order for 35 dollars and go pick up for free. The wait isn't bad usually unless it's later at night. It is frustrating that they don't tell you which items are out of stock till you get there. A lot of the times their card reader doesn't work so they take your card with them while you wait in the car. This part doesn't feel very secure so I usually end up putting in my credit card in the app. read more

9 times out of 10, whatever idiot is bagging my things puts all of the dry goods in one of my insulated bags, and all the cold/frozen items go in a regular bag. I even go as far as to put all of the cold things TOGETHER on the belt, at the end of all the rest of the items, and unless I remember to specifically ask for them in the insulated bags, they mess it up. Thursday evening and Jessica (lead) left one employee to checkout a line of 10 people. When I let Carolina know that she was doing a great job however it wasn't fair she was left alone Jessica decided to not pay attention to her customer and asked what is her problem. As in ME. Then I asked her for her name and she said Jessica and don't forget my name. I think that was very rude and unprofessional. Ralph should not have a lead like her in charge. You can tell this location caters to a more...picky clientele. It just felt like one of the most high end Ralph's I've ever been to. And that's not a negative. Just something that hit me right away when I stepped inside. But the location also felt smaller than other Ralphs, yet they still had the same amount of selection. That meant smaller aisles. and a smaller gab between checkout lanes & the aisles. I could see that if it was busy, navigating could get very tricky. Prices are on par with other Ralph's so at least you're not paying more for the 'high end' shopping experience. And this location is very convenient in a center that offers a lot of other businesses so you can easily knock out a lot on your to-do list all in one place. read more

As far as grocery stores go, this Ralph's is toward the low average for me. It is always busy and you have to always wait in line to pay. The employees at the self stand check out are never helpful. They are usually talking to each other and they don't help you unless you start calling them or pushing the help button. I would prefer going to the Laguna Niguel Ralph's eventhough I live 2 mins away from the AV Ralph's. read more

RALPHS IS 5 STAR! STARBUCKS INSIDE IS A 2 STAR! I want to start by saying I love this Ralph's grocery store. I have been going there for groceries since I was a baby with my mother and now I go as an adult with my own child. Many of the long time cashiers and associates know me on a first name basis since I was a child. So Ralph's in Aliso viejo town center will always be 5 star to me and my family and will always be our daily grocery store for years to come. The Starbucks is also a location I use 3 times a week minimum. Sometimes lines are long but I feel that's typical of every Starbucks so I'm not complaining. The Asian American lady that works there has always been pleasant to me, starts conversation and I appreciate that about her. However the older Indian woman with glasses that typically makes the coffees is rude and has no regard for customer service. It took her 15 minutes to make my simple coffee, there was no one in front of me either. She was talking to her co-worker about their personal lives (that doesn't bother me) but she was not capable of multi-tasking. Not only was she not able to talk and make my drink at the same time, she then decided to make her personal conversation the priority over getting my drink done.... She would completely stop what she was doing to speak to the cashier about things not work related out loud while I'm standing there waiting for my drink. She would forget to put certain things in the drink(because she was talking) and then notice and ask me, "oh do you want the toppings?" And I said "it's fine I need to go, I have a dr. Appointment." And she said "yeah well I have a line." Again let me remind you that there was no one in front of me and I know they make the orders in the order they are received. I wanted to say, "maybe talk to your co-worker about your outside lives after you meet your customers needs." It just showed lack of efficiency, lack of customer service and lack of work ethic honestly. Really disappointing.... I never make yelp reviews either but I had to, and it kills me to post this because that Ralph's store is near and dear to my heart and it's a shame out of the 29 years me and my family have been using this location that I had this experience at their Starbucks. read more

The Ralph's is good but the Starbucks inside has been a bad experience the last few times I went there. Now I just take the extra time to drive to the nearest Starbucks instead of getting anything there. I think it was a middle aged asian american woman there at the time . It was hard just to get service and I was nothing but nice and she gave me a lot of attitude just ordering an iced coffee with cream because my presence was a distraction from her conversation with some other employee or women. The last 3 times I've been there the drink was bad. And I have actually worked at real Starbucks and ones inside the store for years in another life. It's not that hard to say "Hi what can I get for you" instead of a snarl with "What?" and a scowl then not a single word or glance to me as she walked away and started doing stuff and talking to the other person at the end. I asked for an iced coffee and did not get a word from her since saying some kind of confirmation. She eventually came back and touched a button and I swiped my card and 5 minutes later a watery 3/4 full iced coffee with cream showed up at the end of the counter. Tasted not so great. Anyways this is the first time i've reviewed a place. Don't want to complain too much. The rest of the place is cool. Shop here all the time, just don't get the Starbucks. read more

I usually use this store for most of my shopping. However this morning that changed. Went to shop for Breakfast, Picked up five items, came to the cashier noticed that I forgot my wallet. However I had my phone with me. I tried to pay with Apple pay but Apparently Ralphs, at least this location is not equipped with that option, which is not a big deal. What upset me was the way the self service cashiers attendant treated me. I apologized and offered to return the items back from where I took them but she had this look on her that I have committed a huge crime. She did not respond to my apology, not even a short sentence. Why? Just because I forgot my wallet. Why do people need to be so mean. So, just to make sure that she heard me apologizing I said I am sorry again. Nothing in response! I hated it and felt really bad. I doubt the elderly blond lady attending the self service cashiers in Aliso Viejo Ralph on Aliso Parkway, at 9ish in the morning on Saturday, 01/08/2022 had anything other than helping and being courteous to a customer who forgot his Wallet. Then why was she mean? Why the store manger lets people like that work for the store? Why and why??? During this pandemic we are told to wear face masks when we enter the store. Which is totally understandable. There was a worker handing out masks to customers coming in the store. I thought, how nice! When entering the store. I noticed more than 3 workers not wearing masks at all! Workers in the butcher section and stocking food. Also, a countless number of workers were wearing masks but, had them tucked under their chin. What's the point of putting on a mask if you aren't going to wear it properly? As I was shopping there was a overhead announcement that stated all customers and staff are to wear masks when in the store. All customers were wearing masks but not the staff. I have had great shopping experiences here in particular when it comes to customer service. I wish I caught her name the last time I went, but she was blonde hair cashier who was just so positive and genuinely kind to my daughter and I. She gave my daughter a balloon which was thoughtful and made our hard day more bright seeing how we just came from urgent care ( which she didn't have any idea about). It's the little things that make a big difference in how you treat others. Definitely worth leaving a review for that experience. read more

I go to this Ralph's all the time, but the customer service forever has eluded me. Case in point: started my morning wanting some tea before work so I stopped in and I was greeted quickly at the door and told that they don't open till 6 AM, so I decided to go to Brugler's grab some bagels for the office. I thought it was kind of strange, I've lived here for many many years and I thought this Ralph's was open 24 hours, maybe not. Then I walked back to my car, and then I walked back into Ralph's. I noticed other people going in to the store and the door was open now. It was a lady in front of me and that walk in first she grabbed her basket and proceeded on her way, I just needed tea so i was very quick. So I grab some tea and proceeded up to the purchasing counters and they were all closed. I turned around and made eye contact with the same blond lady that told me they were closed earlier, she looks at me and tells me quickly "we're not even open yet." I quickly looked down at my phone and noticed it was 5:59 AM. I missed it by one minute! But now the lady standing in front of me with her dead cows eyes and dishwater blonde hair is now under the assumption that the one minute of freedom for her is more important to her than the basics of customer service and money, and now I see by her body language and voice tone and attitude, that it is completely evident that I have .....invaded her space. I placed the tea box on top of the check stand and walked out the door. I stood outside and waited another 30 seconds, now that my phone was Already saying 6:01 AM, I walked back into the location. As I was walking back in, guess who is leaving? It was the first customer that walked in before me, she has now made a purchase and walked out of the doorway with groceries in hand. I thought to myself "well she made it out successfully" I entered the store and noticed that my tea box has now been removed from the counter, I walked back down the same aisle-way and picked up my tea once again. I admit that I tried to look for her once again and could not find her. Wrestling around in my mind many what could I say things, I had a message for her, "I hope you rested well during your 30 seconds" I proceeded to check out with a another cashier that was now in line, she greeted me with a good morning and have a nice day and I left the facility. It would've took no effort to help me out. I wonder if she even knows that this particular Ralphs prices are higher than normal, and then some comparisons for the demographic area, it's evident that these people have no idea but the surrounding area pays a premium price. I don't go here anymore as it is a cramped and dirty location anyways, it was just convenient. The revamped Vons pavilion around the corner, is much better and preferable, and the employees have always been helpful. read more

I have gotten Ralph's cakes before and have absolutely loved them. So when I had an upcoming birthday party to attend, I knew right where I should go to pick up a cake. I had purchased this exact cake before, so when I picked it up I noticed that it was a bubble gum pink instead of the light pink just like the model they had displayed, but I thought wasn't worth my energy complaining because what could they do about the color now. I take the cake immediately to work and put it in the fridge. After lunch, I go to set up for the birthday celebration and the top of the cake had slouched and slipped off the list layer and the whole cake was soggy and wasn't easy to cut into pieces. I tried to laugh it off with the guests at the party, but I was pretty disappointed. Now, I need to find a new cake place. read more

I'm visiting from another county. I went into this store to get something for muscle pain. I went to the back of the store. Found only two types of pian gels. I got it went to the self checkout. There was a female employee there sorting out some paperwork. I kindly asked her, do your store have a pharmacy? She replied very rudely, WE Don't HAVE A PHARMACY, There's A RITE AID Down THERE! I was in the customer service industry for 45 years. I know when people are having a bad day, and I know when people are just downright rude! This woman was very rude! I will never shop there again, when I come to visit, and I'm going to tell all of my friends and family that live in the area, to NOT shop there! Or maybe even not shop at any Ralph's! Just got back from Ralph's and I was buying cheese that they had a sign up for for $1.99 for up to five bags. I got the five bags but when I got to the register they charged me a much higher price. When I brought it to the cashiers attention she was very rude and frazzled then she asked somebody to go verify the price and he came back saying the price was $1.99 so she called the manager over and the manager was also frazzled and rude and made me feel like a Karen for even bringing up the fact that they marked it for the wrong price. She then went back to check and the sign they had up was an old sign that they forgot to take down but she made me feel like I was being rude by asking them to give me the price that they were advertising. This is the first grocery store we hit up when we moved to California a couple of years ago. It is conveniently located in the popular Aliso Viejo Town Center among many restaurants, businesses and stores, so the parking can get pretty tight. We were pretty surprised that their prices weren't much cheaper than the prices we were so used to paying in Hawaii. And here we thought that we'd be saving money on our basic food necessities just by our move alone. Later, after talking to our realtors and a few other people, we found out that Ralph's Grocery Store isn't the cheapest in town and that we should be taking our business to Stater Brothers or even Albertsons. We also found that buying our canned goods at the local Walmart Superstore and stocking up at Costco saved us some money. Overall a nice, clean, well-stocked store in a very convenient location for the Aliso Viejo locals, but you may want to drive further down the road to Stater Brothers to save yourself a few bucks if you have a long grocery list. read more

So I normally don't take the time or energy to write a yelp review but here we are. My wife and I recently moved to aliso viejo and found this Ralph's almost within walking distance, so we started shopping there on a regular until now. A few days ago we came to this Ralph's for some groceries and noticed my wife's favorite Starbucks half gallon latte coffee was on sale for 6.49 or 5.49 if you buy five or more. So we stocked up! After checking out we noticed the amount was a little high for the little amount of groceries we bought. After checking the receipt we saw that Ralph's charged 8.49 for each of the five Starbucks. So we called and spoke with a customer service associate. She put us on hold and came back and said they were not on sale. Basically calling my wife a liar. When I went back to the store there was a stocker pulling all the stickers in the section and all the stickers that had just said sale disappeared. I think she purposefully removed the stickers so the store wouldn't own up to the mistake. As a instacart temp shopper I've seen this done many times as sometimes they don't pull the stickers in time but they have to honor the sale. This was a dirty tactic and as a result we will not be shopping at this Ralph's regardless of the convenience. read more

They don't require masks. Their policy is that only managers can say anything to maskless people and even then if the customer refuses to wear one they still let them shop. There are safer/cleaner grocery stores in the area. I feel so bad for their employees. read more

I had to go pick up some groceries and most places were closed for the evening, but not Ralphs. I walked in, made my way around the aisles, found most of what I needed, and headed to the check out. Before doing so, I remembered to download the app so that I could add some digital coupons to my Ralphs rewards card. I really wish that these things would just add automatically but I guess this is the virtual way of coupon clipping. I was never a big coupon clipper but by making it paperless, it is by far easier for me and the environment. I walked to the self-checkout line and scanned my basket. The only issue came when I had coupons to use. I wasn't sure if they were applied when checking out or after hitting the coupons button. Needless to say, the machine opted to ask for help from the associate standing by. He came over and punched in his bypass code then I was able to pay and go on my merry way. I don't shop here as often as other places but when I do, it's fairly pleasant. read more

I choose to spend my money where I get good service doesn't have to be excellent but decent customer service. Customer service is why I got to a different store. 1. I was Shopping twice today: first time my bag of potato chips ripped between when I put it on the belt and it was placed in my bag, no biggie. I mentioned it to the checker and the 2 clerks helpers standing there, I would expect ' let me grab you another one' what I got is " it's ok just run back and get yourself another bag". One they ripped the bag and two help the customer ME and grab a replacement bag. Second visit - Walked up put my stuff on the belt and walked up by the checker, he is talking about personal stuff. Did he stop talking and say hi or did he continue to talk and not start my order or even greet me. One if the few stops I can actually find mountain dew Baja blast, and their quality control in their food is amazing. Compared to other Ralph's in the area the chicken wings are juicy and the potato wedges are crispy. Overall, have been really impressed with how this location has handled COVID-19. We are here 1x per week to get our fresh groceries and have noticed them adding precautions each time. Overall, they have had what we want (not need, let's be real) and staff has been helpful. The only complaint that I have is that they are requiring masks now, which is OK, but their staff aren't even properly wearing them? Many have them covering their mouths but not nose which sort of defeats the point. read more

When I went to pickup my order today, I noticed that one of the substitutions was really off and one of the items I really needed, was not included (no substitution). There's a deli and a bakery and all the stuff a Ralph's should have. It gets crowded but I've never had any problems here... except trying to buy fat free Ralph's brand cool whip product. I cannot count the number of times I've had to throw away just purchased items like poultry and cheese when I opened them because they were spoiled before the expiration date. I used to buy all my lunch meat from this location, until I saw them: 1 - not changing gloves after picking up a phone call and then cutting meat. 2- There was trash (literally pilled around the meat slicer for the lunch meat. I addressed this with one of the managers and they didn't seem to care. I now go to Sprouts and buy my lunch meat and they are great and also allow you to call it in. There are no lines and it is not over crowded. Ralph's is on of the few stores that would rather make money than to limit how many people come in at a time. read more
