Be warned about unethical billing practice. Upon sitting in the dental chair they proceeded to say "extras and things would be added", upon asking the price - it was given at a flat rate of $2,500. It was passed to them the extras were not needed and not to perform those. just what they quoted the service as. Well, they sent a bill for extra services and charges not disclosed upon the service AND jacked up the price. They also do not like to return phone calls or acknowledge this, as they like to send bills and then ghost you. A former complaint with Better Business will be placed for an investigation. Amazing dental office! I have been a patient here for over a decade and have been so happy with their personalized and thorough care. It feels like Dr. Cohen and Dr. Weitzner know me so well. They always ask about my family and my children. I had an extraction and implant done here. Dr. Weitzner was so kind to me during the entire process. She made sure to explain the procedure to me and worked carefully to make sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have not had one problem with the implant or crown she did for me! Still taking excellent covid precautions; they take each person's temperature, have outfitted the office with a hospital grade UV air filtration system, masks worn by front desk (and all) staff, and are not overloading the schedule. This is one of the few indoor offices I feel very safe visiting. Waiting room, restroom, and treatment rooms are always spotless. Thank you, Drs. Didn't think it was possible to love your dentist, but Dr. Cohen and Dr. Weitzner have proved me wrong! I used to see Dr. Cohen, but lately have been seeing Dr. Weitzner. They are both extremely caring and patient, and they really spend the time to explain the options and their expert opinions to ensure the best possible outcome. Even better, both Drs. Cohen and Weitzner teach cosmetic and implant dentistry courses at the Medical College of Georgia and are very up-to-date with the most recent studies and procedures. They are absolutely experts in the field, and there's no one else I'd trust with my smile. I've had to get many fillings, a root canal on my front tooth, and am now prepping for an extraction and implant after a bike accident. They have been very upfront about costs and expectations, and moreover, it's very clear they really care about their patients' comfort and well-being. They always check-in after procedures, and also give you their personal cell phone numbers in case you ever need anything. They'll also come in after hours or on weekends if you ever need them. Arrogant, blustering, one of the most uncaring medical professionals I've ever encountered. I had one tooth that was really bothering me, and he took an x-ray of that showing that it was highly infected and needed to get pulled. But since my insurance would cover a full span of x-rays he insisted on that first. Then he changed the game and said that four teeth were infected deep down and all four needed to be pulled and he would not pull the one that was bothering me unless I agreed to the other four, and he wanted all his money up front. He is ALL, ALL, ALL about money. While he even admitted that I must be in pretty severe pain due to the one tooth plus all the infections, he offered nothing whatsoever in the way of pain and didn't even condescend to prescribe an antibiotic unless I agreed to have all four teeth pulled and pay for everything up front. I wouldn't treat an animal the way he treats people, and I've heard the same from other people about him as well, now that I've begun to investigate him. read more

I've been going to Dr. Cohen for 10 years. He's an extremely skilled dentist and I highly recommend him. I had some tooth pain crop up late on a Friday. I called Dr. Cohen and he told me to call him over the weekend if I could not make it until Monday. On Sunday, it flared up big time so I called his cell phone and he met me at his office 30 minutes later to get the root canal started. read more

Georgia does not regulate their dentists, so any dentist can perform procedures that would, in most other regulated states, would be performed by a specialist. This is such an example. I went to Dr. Cohen, who was my regular dentist at that time, when my front upper tooth started hurting. He told me that the tooth was infected. I was given antibiotics but the tooth could not be saved. Dr. Cohen recommended an extraction and replacing the tooth with an implant. He said that he knew how to do implants so I agreed to let him do the implant. He said that front tooth implants were very delicate as it is very important to keep the thin bone in the jaw from breaking. He performed the extraction and proceeded to put in the implant, which had to be hammered in. After that procedure was completed around 10 am, he told me to go to work. Bad idea. After the anesthesia wore off I was in excruciating pain and had to go home and dope myself out (I have had 2 more implants put in since then, and have never had any pain after the anesthesia wore off). Soon after that procedure I mentioned to Dr. Cohen that I was planning to make a visit abroad - to Asia. Dr. Cohen asked me if I could buy him some implants because "they were cheaper there." I declined. A few months later he capped the implant with a crown. This crown was larger than its twin. So apparently, Dr. Cohen had not exercised the care that he should have and did break the bone. Right after that I broke another tooth which ended up being an extraction. I changed dentists rather than let Dr. Cohen handle this implant too. My new dentist recommended that I go to a specialist for the implant (Incidentally, before placing this implant the specialist voluntarily showed me the implant packaging and gave me the literature without my asking for it). 5 years later in July 2012 the whole crown along with the screw that keeps the tooth in the implant fell out of my mouth. I had moved west and I went to a prosto-dontist, who only does implants. My prostodontist told me that the entire crown, abutment and screw had to be replaced because the abutment made by Dr. Cohen was not custom. Apparently custom abutments for front teeth are the norm. I called Dr. Cohen to find out what kind of implant it was, and whether he could send me the documentation for it? I did not hear back from him so I called him again. His secretary gave me this information over the phone. Since there is no way to tell whether the implant is the actual brand that Dr. Cohen said it was, or something that was purchased from a non-US source, and because my prosto-dontist seriously doubted that the implant was a brand name, he advised me that there was a good chance that the new crown might also fall out, screw and all. He also informed me that putting in implants to replace front teeth is an art which is attempted by only the most experienced implant surgeons. This he did while pointing out that Dr. Cohen had damaged the bone when he put in the implant which meant that the implant crown had to made bigger to cover the opening - in other words, poor aesthetics. Why am I posting this now? I brought this matter to the attention of the Georgia Board of Dentistry. Apparently, in Georgia any licensed dentist can do implants regardless of whether they have had any specialized training. In California where I now live now 3 general dentist referred me to specialists. So buyer beware. Because what I did not know hurt me, ruined the aesthetics of my smile, and cost me an additional $4000.00 for the new abutment and crown. Had I known better I would have obtained a referral to an expert and the result would have been different and I would not be posting this review. read more

Went to Dr. Cohen and pricing is very subjective. Make sure you know what you are going to get and the cost up front! Dr. Cohen said I had at least 4 crowns that needed to be replaced. At the time I felt his estimate was extremely high so I wanted to get a second opinion. I called the office and they said they would send me the x-ray, but would not tell me the teeth that the crowns needed to be replaced, because it was his opinion and may not be the opinion of other dentist. This sounds like he may be more interested in making money than feeling good about his suggestions on crown replacement. Be careful - seems to be a decent dentist - it is the problems with billing and getting 2nd opinions that one needs to be careful of. read more

I have only ever had positive experiences at Dr. Cohen's office. He is seasoned, knowledgeable, and personable: qualities I admire in a healthcare professional. He treats myself, my husband, and our 3 grown children. Whether we need only routine cleanings or an emergency root canal, or more recently, an extraction and implant, we trust him completely. I have been going to Dr. Cohen for over 3 years and he is hands down the best dentist I have ever had. I chipped my tooth one weekend and instead of making me get an appointment on Monday he gladly went into the office that afternoon to see me. DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!!!!!! First of all, Dr. Cohen is RUDE and has a horrible condescending attitude towards patients. I came in ONLY to have one tooth filled. He filled two, without my permission, and the 2nd one was already filled and did not need refilling at that time. Then he way overcharged for the service. He charged $650 for two BASIC fillings which took a total of about 45 minutes to complete...I had brought xrays from another dentist so the $650 did not incude those. To make matters worse, on a seperate visit to Dr. Cohen, after I paid $208 for a panaramic xray I called Dr. Cohen's office to come by to get it so I could go to another dentist. They got mad and said it is their "office property" refused to let me have a copy until I paid $25 for a copy of xrays I'd already paid for. It's no wonder he has a fancy expensive car sitting out front, charging highway robbery prices like those. My mistake was going back twice to this professional wolf in sheep's clothing, or one could say con artist in dentist's attire. read more

DON'T EVER USE THIS DENTIST---READ WHAT HAPPENED TO ME! Following the replacement of 2 crowns and 1 tooth implant by Dr. Ralph Cohen, I reviewed my insurance claim and realized I would be financially unable to have the more extensive work done (that he had recommended). No fees were ever discussed with me prior to the work he completed. When I informed Dr. Cohen of my decision, he became "furious" and in a very "harsh" tone of voice began badgering me with such comments as "what don't you understand about this" and "this is an urgent situation and this work (3 new crowns for the other side of my mouth) must be completed right away"---"this can't wait." After advising him I needed to get a second opinion on this expensive additional dental work he felt so strongly about doing, I advised him I would like to get a second opinion and needed a copy of my x-rays (that I had paid for), he replied "I will charge you for them again, and I don't get caught up in this "he said/she said" stuff!". When I returned to have my permanent crowns done, Dr. Cohen immediately told me "you know I'm not happy about this." I ignored his rude comment but "the straw that broke the camel's back" was when some bleeding occurred following the crown placement and he advised me I may need to have blood work done since the only time he had ever seen this kind of bleeding was with a leukemia patient!!!! I was in tears when I left his office. Since my final visit with Dr. Cohen I have gotten second opinions from two respectable dentists who both advised me the only "pressing issue" was with an upper broken crown that needed replacement---the exact same tooth I pointed out to Dr. Cohen on my initial visit and the reason for that visit. After doing some homework I've found a couple of former patient's reviews on Dr. Cohen (that I am sending you), and I think you'll find them quite disturbing. This uncaring, unprofessional. "money hungry" man needs to be reported (as I'm doing now) so others won't have to experience the intimidation and "scare tactics" he's well known for to do unnessary and expensive dental work. read more

DR Cohen is the best Dentist I have dealt with. His work is excellent and he cares about his patients. I had four crowns done in one sitting and it was a breeze because of his skill and knowledge.
