Is it Christmas? Nope just my scheduled day for teeth cleaning.. but you would think its Christmas day. I woke up early and ende up getting to the office early! Let me tell you why my routine cleaning was the best part of the week... #1 Elizabeth has to be the best in the ATL. She makes getting your teeth cleaned something you look forward to. This is my 2nd time she cleaned my teeth and I made sure to sign up with her again! (For those that know how awesome she is and all to great stuff she has going on I wont spoil the updates so you will have to catch up on your next visit! ) #2 Well I also gotta give credit to Dr. Abbott as he has made Dental TLC so friendly and fun that you forget your at the dentist. From the TV on the ceiling, rock music in the lobby, and laughing gas its not what you would think a dental office is. #3 The know your human while everyone says they floss every day, they dont make you feel like crap about the fact your not perfect! #4 This particular visit I had also scheduled to get a cavity fixed up. I had the TV (yeah one on the wall and one on the ceiling) on a show and moved from the cleaning room to the cavity room. Before I got there they had already put my show on the tv in the new room. WHAT! Talk about making you feel comfortable. One star for the years I was with Dr. Abbott. He was the best! I really should have left when he became injured. Patel claimed that I have a cracked tooth but was never able to provide me with an X-ray. Now that I know better, my trust for dentists is non existent. The issues I've had with that tooth since I let her touch it are never ending. I had no pain nor did I have any cavities. I immediately needed a root canal from whatever she did or didn't do when she installed the crown that fell off within a day. Had been going to the dentist twice a year for many years in another state. Came in for a cleaning at Dr. Abbott's office and they said I needed a "deep cleaning" since I hadn't been with them in awhile. Seemed odd but since I had good benefits I thought I would do it as a one off thing. It was expensive and I had to come out of pocket even with good benefits. Here's the real kicker. They said going further since you had a deep all cleanings henceforth would have to be a deep cleaning. I mentioned this to my dentist in another state and they stated I didn't need a deep cleaning. TOO EXPENSIVE- COMPARE WITH OTHER DENTAL OFFICES AND BE CAREFUL ! This dentist office is not in Delta Dental network and we were mislead. They will tell you they are and then call to advise additional funds are required. If you look above under "Questions" Dental TLC clearly responded stating they are "in network" with Delta Dental. It leads me to believe over the years things may have changed and now they are no longer in network with any insurance and can charge you higher than normal prices. read more

UPDATED REVIEW 8/17/2023: I've been going here regularly for nearly 5 years and I know I will never change places. Even when I moved to Smyrna in 2021 I STILL come here because it would be hard for another office to top the service. Long story short I had a really scary wisdom procedure yesterday that I was super anxious about the week leading up to it. The care of the entire dental team that I experienced in the office yesterday helped ease me so much. I know they cannot cure my anxiety for things but the fact they take your anxiety so seriously is unbelievably amazing. I felt so cared for and I didn't feel like my anxiety was brushed off at any point. Full review below: I have a lot of really great things to say. But first here is my story. I've had dental anxiety for most of my life and avoided the dentist for so long. When I sat a lot of anxiety, I mean A LOT. Like more than a scared child. So obviously I was very scared to go back. I didn't take of my teeth as much as I should have but I didn't completely neglect them either. I started seeing a small black hole on my back molars and my bf encouraged me to go now while it didn't hurt so it wouldn't evolve into something bigger. For me, even just making the appointment took a lot of courage to work up to. But I did it. The entire week I was so anxious. I hate to play favs here but I owe a huge shoutout to ROCHELLE in reception. She listened to all my crazy questions, reassured me, and talked to me extensively about the high anxiety options and treatments they do here. I called probably 4 times in one week leading up to my appointment! She even took the time to make a note in my file about my anxiety for topical. The appointment went WAY BETTER than I expected. I was so terrified I have severe decay/gum disease but apparently my xrays showed my bone and alignment were still very strong. The best news was that I didn't need a deep cleaning, which I was super anxious about needing! The news came that I needed fillings, which was expected. I started to get really anxious again but the best part about it? THEY WORKED ME IN THE SAME DAY and did all 3 fillings in my FIRST APPOINTMENT. They even offered if I wanted sedation for it but I wasn't able to take off work on such short notice. Nitrous oxide does wonders! I told them the part I was mostly scared for was the injections since I get queasy about them in the gums, but I didn't even feel them with the topical! My fillings were all in the back but the whole injection process was over in about 15 seconds. After that I was so relaxed my most feared part was over. Dr. Dimple Patel was my dentist and she was very nice and honest too. I was so relieved when she took my anxiety seriously and didn't try to brush it off. I'm so glad they worked me in the same day, that was amazing and I got all of my work done in a SINGLE APPOINTMENT! My anxiety was so much lower after this visit and I'm going back in 6 months for my cleaning. Can you believe I'm actually looking forward to it?? I have been going here for countless years, even when I lived in florida I would fly up twice a year and no matter how far I live I make the drive. Let's start with the front office staff meeting everyone is truly amazing, happy to be there welcoming and accommodating: emails and phone call reminders about appointments and really do all they can to make sure you are happy and comfortable. As far as the back office staff dentists, hygienist and assistants are all amazing , hard working and go the extra mile . I likely pass 100 dentists along the drive in order to continue to go to Dental TLC! They are that great. Dental TLC is the very best dental office in the Atlanta area. I've been going to them since 2003 when I moved to the Atlanta area. I now live in north Atlanta/Alpharetta area but their office is just a few minutes off of 285, so it's a pretty easy drive (and worth it). They are honest, great staff, professional, and the experience is wonderful. They whitened my teeth and also did minor cosmetic work to fix them to look absolutely perfect (where I ground down a few in my college years) before my wedding. Highly recommend any of their dentists, and the overall practice run by Dr. Abbott! read more

My 2nd visit in a row and their customer service is now terrible. The last visit i went in and waited approximately 10 minutes past my appointment time then once in the exam room was given conflicting information re: X-rays etc. After an extensive wait X-rays were taken then a hygienist came in for an exam and told me I'd need a deep clean. I asked for an explanation and she left then the dentist came in a chatted for a bit and left. After another long wait the hygienist came back in and we talked (got a solid explanation) then she said she'd be right back with a game plan and we could schedule. 1 hour later I walked out without being seen or talked to. You got that right I was in the char for 2+ hours with only 5 minutes of X-rays and two people looking in my mouth for less than 5 minutes each. So I decide to try again and had an appointment today for the cleaning. I show up with my new insurance card, which my wife confirmed they accept, and you'd have thought I was there to rob the place. I was told it would take at least two weeks for them to confirm my coverage. I told them it was Cigna the same policy as my wife which they have already confirmed, but no I was treated like a fool who shouldn't darken the door. I've been using this practice for 18 years and it's unreal how terrible they have become. Thanks for your reply. Yes my google name is different. On my prior visit I was left in the exam room post x-rays and chatting with a dentist and the hygienist for an hour. Lastly, your receptionist was rude and didn't offer any solutions. I did allow her to speak, but she just kept repeating herself, I offered her my phone with the photo of my insurance card on it and she never reached for it or acknowledged that I was offering it to her. Were she my employee she would be looking for new employment. My wife, Jane, has been using your practice sine 1996, when it was just you. In my opinion, I am the worst patient ever. I had a traumatic experience as child so walking into any dentist is difficult. I have been a patient of Dental TLC for many years and I will remain a patient here. Dr. Abbott, Bree, and Gabrielle put me at ease and were extremely patient with me. Dr. Abbott and Team are phenomenal. Scheduling is easy and they are very responsive, whether you call, text, or email. They seem to accept most insurance and I haven't had an issue using them with Aetna or United Healthcare. On my initial visit, he took some thorough X-rays, discussed them with me, and referred me out to an orthodontist to get braces. I have my braces on now but return to Dental TLC quarterly for cleanings. Love it here! They also offer free laughing gas (for those of anxiety-prone clients, lol). Highly recommend! read more

We are going to miss this office. Dr. Abbott is awesome. I hear his son is the same. Doc has been my dentist since 2001. My daughters' since they were very young. I recommend to anyone willing to drive because the service is great. My new insurance does not cover as much as my former insurance did. Our family simply cannot afford the additional cost and we travel quite a way to the office. Please take advantage of the option to have them call you about out of pocket costs. It is provided so patients are not blindsided by costs.
