Very clean and well organized. I like this store because it is well lit. Something about well lit stores make my mood better when I'm shopping. They have a wide selection of liquor from hard liquor to wines. My sister came in before Christmas and bought wines are presents. She spent $80 but got a good amount of wine. There's ample parking and fresh made food. Only thing about Ralph's is it's a little more expensive than other stores. You can always shop at Food4Less if you want to save a buck or two. Also, I LOVE their self check out. It's nice that I can pay for a slice of cake with all the coins in my purse without people judging me. read more

My go to grocery store for some quick grocery runs. They are always clean and always helpful here at this location. They have self serve cash registers for quick purchases or just to avoid awkward small talk and cash registers that can do all the scanning and bagging for you. They also have a Starbucks in there if you don't want to walk across the plaza to the Starbucks across from lolitas. read more

I like coming to this Ralph's location because they have a good selection of grocery items. If you get their weekly ads, you know that they have some good deals. Today, my husband picked up some chicken, salad and some snacks for our SF trip. So much selection. I make a habit to check expiration dates on items just because we have bought expired items from other grocery stores. This location was fairly clean and organized. I saw a young gentleman mopping up the floors with a large wide mop. One of the guys working here said Hi as he was walking by. There's plenty of parking up front. There are carts near the entrance and in the parking lot. Great place to do some grocery shopping. read more

I come here 2x a week. They have fresh produce that are organic and regular. I go for organic bananas because it's only like 10 or 12 cents more per pound than the regular bananas. I buy some fresh eggs, donuts, bread, condiments, ice cream, meat vegetables and herbs for cooking. The grocery aisles are clean. Overall, they have what I need. read more

EMPLOYEES NOT OBSERVING SOCIAL DISTANCING. Walking up so close they are a foot or two away and they give you a hard time when you ask them to stay 6 or even 3 feet away. My 75 year old mom went during "senior hours" and the employees were all filling the aisles stocking products, making it impossible to enter any aisle without coming within 1-2 feet of employees. She asked them to move away and they ignored her and she is immunocompromised. Will be shopping at other stores that are actually observing pandemic protocols. read more

They are the least helpful and act like you are bothering them with questions or assistance. I hate asking them for anything because their insincerity is forced and uncomfortable to take. I love comming to this ralphs. Its so convenient and they have an excellent selection of food. But they really need to do something about their service deli. They are so unorganized there's no really way of "getting in line" not to mention the asian man that works behind the counter is really RUDE. I wanted to ask him a quick question nothing to crazy and he yelled at me to get in line. But clearly there was no line just a bunch of people crowded in front of the deli. So i just left. I really want to give this store 5 stars because of the fresh produce, and the cheese island, and all the "private selection" food is always delicious. I love talking to Johnny hes always so friendly when me and my husband come in they always talk sports and he has good energy. Hermis is also so friendly and fast to check us out. I also wanna shout out Adriana, it was thanksgiving and i needed vanilla wafers and i asked Adriana is they had any and she looked and looked for me and i helped her and we couldnt find any. So me and my husband continued with our shopping and i see Adriana running to us with 2 boxes of the vanilla wafers. She found them and went out of her way to find us and give it to us. She is a saint and definitely deserves a raise!!! read more

Stopped in on a Sunday around 630 PM. Entered through the east door, no hand basket, walk to the other door, no hand baskets. Ask an employee who was sitting in a chair who directed me to "aisle 4" to retrieve the lone hand basket. Should we maybe get up and gather baskets so that shoppers have more room to carry items therefore spending more money in the store. Von's doesn't seem to have this issue so guess they get my business from now 3/1/20 early am visit and still have a hand basket issue. Zero baskets at the east entrance. read more

Your typical grocery store... A busy location, but kept clean. Employees are helpful and friendly, greeting you as you walk by. They have a good size produce section with fresh fruits and veggies. They have a bakery and hot foods as well as a salad bar. Self checkout and regular cashiers, the lines to pay are never too long. Im very happy with my cake purchase. I ordered a cake on Monday for Wednesday pick up and they made exactly what I ordered. I paid $13 for a 8" double layered marble cake with chocolate frosting. If I could give 10 Stars, I would because this Ralph's is amazing. Great customer service and very clean. Employees are always willing to help you find a product or lend a hand reaching a hard to reach product. I've been a recurring customer at this Ralphs not because it's the one closest to me but for its exceptional service. They recently changed switch the old coffee bean stand to Starbucks, which is a plus. You can leisurely shop while sipping your coffee. Note: Flowers while more expensive than other grocery stores ie Trader Joe's, their quality is much better. I've compared flowers in both and Ralph's flowers last much longer. The only thing I would improve is their beer selection. San Diego has a booming craft beer industry and this Ralph's beer section fails to reflect that fact. They have been improving but still has ways to go read more

I like this Ralph's location better than the Southwestern College location. It's nicer, cleaner, and spacious for parking. The aisles aren't cramped and lots of good sales (especially clearance items). I haven't downloaded the Ralphs app, because I am usually shopping at VONS more. The cashiers and baggers have been friendly every time I've gone there. I just don't like the self-checkout stations because it has issues reading coupons. One thing I do not like about Ralphs is that you have to buy 5 items of a certain item to get a discount. I might as well go to Costco if I want to buy in bulk. read more

This is a great location with super friendly staff and they are consistent with their stock. I am a regular at the store and find it very convenient. The store is always clean, I never get through the store without some employee saying hello and asking if I can find everything I need. The only con on this store is the bakery. I've had two occasions in the couple months where items I purchased were stale once we got home and opened them. Not happy to throw away money like that for stale items. Then for the first time I ordered a specialized cake. What I ordered and what I got were not even remotely close so I was very disappointed. Upon walking into the store I kept telling myself, "stick to your game plan... stick to the game plan!" ...and you won't be saying at the end, "WTH! What did I buy?' Go real early to this Ralph's around 5 AM. You'll find in the back there are great deals on a lot of items. Caught these two packs of toilet paper for $3.10 each! You can't beat that! Somethings are still closed because they're still cleaning but it's worth it! Even though it's really early the staff is very friendly and helpful! I had a question about an item, I talked to woman named Sara, she went out of her way and got me the item even though I saw she was really busy. I am not satisfied with this place. It was not a good experience which I am going to share. I am so angry with the employees at this ralphs. I had to attend a brunch so I went to buy a fresh salad from the deli area, that took forever as first no one was there, then the person behind the counter was flirting with the customer and encouraging him to try every type of salad available in the display. When I got to the register to pay i had a few items. I was also there with two of my kids. When I got home I unpacked my groceries and to my horror the salad for the brunch was missing. I did not have time to go back, when i called they said it was my fault because I left it there. But they did the packing and the loading. read more

Ralphs on East Palomar St, Chula Vista is always neat and clean. The aisles are wider compared to other stores which makes you want to shop here more often. It makes your shopping more like you're going for a walk in the park because the space between aisles are wide, and you don't feel crowded. The staffs are courteous and friendly. The items in the produce section looks fresh and you would think that they just have been picked from the farm. I like the fact that they do have a self check out line. But since I have quite a few items, I had to go to the regular line to pay. It wasn't bad, it only took me less than 5 minutes to go through the line and out the door to the parking lot. read more

I have traded at this store for a long time but the current management has allowed it to go downhill fast. I often go and there are zero carts available, or they are full of trash. Once in the door I have to work my way around the people stocking shelves that make it real clear the customer needs to back out of the isle and go around to the other side of isle because they make no effort to let you by them. If this happen one day a week customers could probably accept it, but it is every time I am there that I am trying to work myself around stocking activities. In addition the store is often not clean. I like the location but the management needs to pay attention to his/her store. Since they seem to be getting worse instead of better. Probably time to change stores. read more

I just recently discovered this RALPHS at E. Palomar (I usually go to their other branch at Bonita Plaza), and loved it ever since. The staff are always available to help you, you don't have to look for them they just pop up in the aisle you are in and offer their assistance. I am not much of an assistance-seeker, but today, I was saved by Chui (pronounced chewy). I thought it was an Asian name but to my surprise it's actually Mexican, well, he looks Mexican anyway which confused me at first. He was so nice and kind enough to help me with a couple of things I needed for baking which was NOT found in the baking aisle. It took us a while to look for this wheat germ that of all places, it was in the oatmeal section -imagine my dilemma before he came to my rescue :0 E. Palomar is also a lot bigger than the one at Bonita Plaza which made me feel like I'm in Disneyland, lol! The products they carry are to my taste. I actually still go to Bonita Plaza which is just 2 miles away (correct me if I'm wrong- too lazy to check :D) whenever they don't have what I need which is what I really look for in a neighborhood I live in : CONVENIENCE and ACCESSIBILITY to EVERYTHING. read more

I flip flop between this Ralphs and the Vons on Otay Lakes Rd. Ralphs is closer, but Vons has different items, so it depends on what I am looking for. I like the layout, the staff is always friendly, the produce is very fresh. You can get produce cheaper at Henry's, but for convenience the price is acceptable. They are the only grocery store around that carries the Dreyer Swiss Chocolate sherbert, which is orange sherbert with chocolate chips....yum, yum. Dangerous! I use the self-service checkout when the lines are too long otherwise. Makes you realize how much work it is for the cashiers, standing on their feet all day. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store. I am a mindful shopper, and when I moved here a couple of years ago I was bummed that there were no Stater Brothers Markets. Where I lived before, Stater Brothers was the lowest priced store, and Ralph's was the most expensive. However, the prices at this Ralph's are very good! Not amazing, but competitive. And Ralph's has the best "loss leaders" sales in their weekly ad. (Front Page of ad) Those deals keep me coming back. For example, avocados, .69 each london broil, $3.99 lb salmon fillets $5.77 lb And, if you have a Ralph's card, they send you coupons in the mail on the items you buy most, and some products are even free! Checkers and other workers go out of their way to help you, and are very nice. The parking is great, and it seems very safe at night. There is never a long wait to check out. And there is also self-checkout, which I love. If I'm in there on a Friday night for tampons and ice cream, I'd rather check myself out, thank you! Well done Ralph's! read more

Just purchased a premium Hawaiian Poke Bowl-tuna, salmon at Ralph's on East Palomar and it's the most delicious Poke Bowl I've ever had.

This grocery store definitely added more selection to their produce and it shows. I like how they have an on site sushi chef, self checkouts, and the workers are friendly. I would recommend this grocery store if you are in the area. If you want cheaper groceries there is a new(ish) aldi a few miles away, but for all the positives of this Ralph's I'll keep coming back. read more

I went grocery shopping here and I found out when I got home I discovered i left some things behind. I went back to claim those items and the cashier that checked me out, stated "We were waiting for you to come back!" I felt really good that I didnt need to say anything more and the items were left at another desk for me to pick up. Way to go Ralphs! Thanks for the honesty and service. read more

The service at this Ralphs location is not very good. At least most of the time that I come here. The staff at the check out just have bad attitudes. One older woman in particular will barely make any eye contact and after I pay will just start talking with coworkers while I am still standing there. That is not the kind of customer service I expect from Ralphs, especially because their prices are not as good as other grocery store chains. You are paying more because of the service you expect in my opinion. I will say that it seems that the employees during the day are a bit nicer than those in the evening. The only good service I've received is from a late 20s male at the check out who might be a supervisor. Other than that I don't plan to come back here if I can help it. read more
