This is a basic diner that is clearly a local fave. We found it on Yelp as we are visiting Ottawa…read morethis weekend. The food was done as requested (eggs were actually over easy). The staff are friendly, even tho they are kept busy on their feet! The place is busy and so it was loud but it was clean. Steps to get in tho if you have mobility device.

Showed up here on a Saturday mid-morning after visiting Crappy Tire and the place was busy, but…read morecertainly not at capacity as there was at least four 4-seater tables open and a couple of two seaters right in front of the door. No line-ups. We weren't keen on sitting by the door due to the draft coming in. We were told we had to wait for a two-seater because they didn't want us to take up a four seat table. We're like wtf??? I can see this if you the hot new restaurant in town and huge demand, but quite literally there was four 4-seat tables sitting empty and no line-up. In any event, we stayed, sitting in some two-seater jammed in the corner. And then we ordered a breakfast. I'm a Ozempic user, so I don't eat much - I was going to take an egg, a piece of bacon, and a couple of potatoes from my wife's plate. Oh - can't do that. There's a $2 "sharing charge". Like, wtf? I'm done with this place and their stupid policies. The food is typical diner fair that you can get any diner, nothing special here.

Don't let the area around the diner dissuade guy from trying it. Walked in on a weekday morning,…read moredecent crowd. Friendly wait staff seated me and brought a coffee. I ordered an omelette and home fries. I judge a diner breakfast by the quality of the homefries and these were A+. Extra crispy, real potatoes that were nicely seasoned. Everything was hot, coffee was very good. Friendly attentive staff. Can't wait to go again.

Looking for breakfast spots in the area this looked to be our best bet. Plenty of parking available…read moreand it is located in what appears to be an old mall that while outdated looking did appear to be full of many other businesses. This is your classic diner you would imagine when you think of spots that brings regulars in everyday. Also I must add they were decorated for Christmas to give that little extra holiday feeling, great touch. You are greeted right away by some of the friendliest staff and service is top notch. The person in our party was getting their coffee topped off long before it had a chance of being empty. Not really something you see with service quality much these days. In typical diner fashion they offer their breakfast all day during their open hours as well as have rotating daily specials. While some of the specials sounded really good, and even just their typical menu offerings sounded tasty both my wife and I ended up choosing an omelette. She ended up choosing the bacon and cheese while I got one of their loaded ones that came with sausage, onions, homefries, and cheese. Serving sizes were great and it is definitely a spot you will be leaving feeling full. While both were tasty, we have had better breakfast and omelettes elsewhere but would gladly return here again! The cheese used appeared to be American cheese slices and my wife's hash brown had an off taste from the oil used to fry it. Just a few knocks against the food to make it a 4 star review rather than 5 but minimal overall. Positively though they filled her omelette with a ton of bacon! If you are in Potsdam or the nearby area looking for a breakfast (or lunch) spot I do think this is worth your time! Some of the friendliest staff in a place with old school vibes for a good hearty meal!

So I struggled to write this because I used to love this restaurant. The portion sizes were…read moresignificantly shrunk, and the brewed coffee was horrendous. I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. The food is delicious but you're definitely overpaying and 50/50 on the coffee lol

In search for weekend brunch this place came up we thought of trying it out. Parking in streets is…read morenot existent. Had really look at side streets a bit far to get one. All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options
