Rajun Cajun's samosas are the best I've had. The sweet sauce is a nice complement to the savoriness of the samomas. I also really enjoy their spinach paneer. I've had this dish at other places where I'd experienced a slimy texture or bitter taste. You don't get that here. However I do with the portion size was larger for the price. Overall, a nice place in Hyde Park for Indian food. It's a bit pricey for a carry-out lunch but very tasty.

A solid Indian Option for the Hyde Park Area. Thought the name is a bit "misleading" I was pleasantly Suprised many many years ago when I first visited this spot looking for Cajun food. My favorite are the Currie Potatoes (Aloo) and you can't go wrong with the vegetarian meal combo!! I always end up adding EXTRA sides... because I always want EVERYTHING!

An interesting fusion of foods: soul food and Indian. I only tried their Indian food and was happy with it. I got the Tandoori Chicken combo meal for $16 and thought it was worth the price because of the large serving size so I would recommend that. Also, all their meat is halal. As far as I know, this is the only Indian restaurant in Hyde Park.

Not the best but the food was okay here and tasted nice. Prices are also reasonable and have plenty of options on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant.

I came here for the first time in a while. I usually do Uber eats but it was a nice day. It was a Saturday as usual so I opted for the weekly fish dinner, which came with samosa, parotha and 2 sides (one with peas, one with spinach) and a side of peach cobbler. The fish was HOT but not overwhelming, in a great tomato base sauce. Everything else was ok except the peach cobbler. I am always just ok with it; maybe too much nutmeg/cloves, and the peaches seemed brownish. But the space looks great since the renovations, clean and bright, but since I don't dine in I can't speak to comfort or restrooms, etc. I always liked the postcards wallpaper of citizens who leave or travel and write back!

We came on Christmas Eve and were surprised that they were even open. The food is kept hot behind a counter and you choose what you want, with different combos on the menu. I got the lamb curry combo with cauliflower curry, vegetable samosa, and paratha. My friend got the fried chicken dinner with Mac and cheese. I liked what I got, the lamb was tender and the samosa was tasty. The cauliflower dish was watery and thin though, and the paratha didn't taste fresh. My friend said she liked her food. Overall, not super blown away but a decent place in the area. 3.5 stars.

I was a little confused when I arrived since I thought this might be a Southern food restaurant but it was more Indian in presentation: but they do have "Soul Food" as well. I opted for the Indian, it was a little unclear how their process worked since they were minimally communicative about things, I ordered and they walked in the back and I just waited a bit, but after a while it was clear this might take longer so I approached the cashier to pay and then timidly went to sit down since I was not sure what was going to happen next. Several minutes later the food was ready, it was good and spicier than I imagined (if I had the choice I would have requested less spicy, but they didn't have a spice level request). Limited seating but it wasn't too crowded. There is a huge counter separating the cashier and the customer which was a little confusing since you don't know if you should get hear it or not. Logistics/flow/service were not friendly to new customers but now that I know what to do they are great.

We arrived approximately 25 minutes early and had no issue waiting until our reservation time. The experience became disappointing when our server advised that multiple menu items were already sold out, including the candy yams, smothered turkey wings, collard greens, and a few additional items. We understood it was a busy holiday and were willing to work around that. However, after placing our order for appetizers (fried green tomatoes and buffalo wings) along with drinks, it took approximately 40 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. We were then told our entrées should be out shortly, but another 40 minutes passed with no food and no meaningful updates. At that point, after waiting over 2 1/2 hours and it being after 9:00 PM, we decided to leave. The complimentary warm champagne offered did not resolve the situation. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of communication, poor service overall, and no visible manager on duty to address the issue or assist customers. We understand holidays are busy, but waiting over two hours without receiving our meals is unacceptable, especially with a reservation for a large party planned in advance. Unfortunately, this experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special Mother's Day family dinner.

It was so delicious! I couldn't eat it all because the portions were huge! A lot of my trainees needed to-go bags because it was so much food in those containers. The peach cobbler is amazing too! Not too peachy and not too much breading--a perfect combination. The chef was grateful for us coming in and talked to us too! The host was a sweet man and hooked some of my trainees with some sweet tea on the house. Just beautiful people bringing delicious food to Bronzeville.

I've traveled a time or two to a couple of spots in Chicago to support; only to be welcomed to a closed sign. So, Cleo's THANK YOU for blessing me with your service and love for food. It made my birthday, day trip that much better. Now, where do I start. Well, I called to make sure that they were open. I wanted to place my order via phone, but was instructed to place it via their website. The website was easy to navigate and updated. The time given for pickup was pretty much exact. I may even say that it was ready 5-10 minutes before. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. However, depending on when you go, there's a small lot across the street where you can park. Also, you can dine inside, however, depending on how busy, you may or may not have a spot. I lucked up and was able to dine in. Which made my experience better because I was able to take my food out, examine and get comfortable. All food is made to order. That is a huge plus!!!! Food was packaged right and sealed tight. I tried the Float & Fly which consisted of 3 pcs of catfish fillets and 3 fried chicken wings. I tried the green beans, Mac n cheese and pineapple candied sweet potatoes and pineapple cheesecake for a treat. Oh, let me not forget the Purple Rain drink. The catfish & wings were well seasoned and fried to perfection. If I had to choose between the two, wings for the WIN!!! The greens beans had a bit of a kick to them. So much that I followed up with some Mac and sweet potatoes. Ha! The Mac was cheesy and kinda creamy. Great texture. The sweet potatoes were different with the pineapples. The pineapples gave a little twist, but still delivering your childhood memory of sweet potatoes that grandma used to make. Desserts are limited; cheesecake or brownie. The cheesecake was my least favorite thing. I either want peach cobbler or cheesecake; not them being married. Ha! I was happy and pleased with how clean the inside was and how organized it was as well. I like an open kitchen concept. I'll definitely be returning when in Chicago. My advice is to place your order online. Keith Lee approved and so do I!

The order came to over $65 with tip. Impression: Three chicken wings only for $8. The size of the wings was good. Real meaty but came off as baked versus fried. The muffin was soft and moist. However, layering a bunch of butter on top and calling is 24K muffin is a great marketing ploy. Reminded me of a cupcake. The green beans were ok. The catfish again had no crunch. They were also on the thin side. Could mistake it as tilapia if not for the taste. Mac and cheese with crap meat was star. For $20 you get a good size bowl. Real cheesy and noodle were done right. You also get a generous portion of crab meat onto top. Overall, I might a one and done customer.

After I paid, my receipt was held up in a way that drew attention to the fact that I hadn't left a tip on the card.
