The salon itself is a plus there's plenty of space, and the decor is clean and aesthetically pleasing, which makes for a comfortable environment while you're getting your nails done. Had some lovely conversations and it didn't feel like talking to someone I just met, it was a very friendly experience. This was the first time in a long time that I got my hair done at a salon. I was absolutely thrilled with the results! Hajira gave me an amazing cut and made great suggestions that suited my face shape. The salon is very professional and is women-only, which is a huge plus for me as I wear hijab. Often times hijab-wearing women don't have a lot of options for where we can get our hair done privately. We usually end up going to someone's basement salon or we end up paying a large premium for a private/backroom that is secluded and away from men. Having an actual SALON that has blurred windows and curtains at the front was so so so nice. She even had a prayer area in the back that I used. I felt so happy and accommodated! Got knicked during the pedi but I didn't bother to complain because I just assumed it was an accident. Onto the mani, I asked for French tips. As the manicurest continued to work on my nails, I started to feel more and more pain and wondered if maybe I just have a low tolerance. By the time she wiped my fingers with alcohol, almost every finger was stinging and a couple started to bleed. She tried to wipe the blood off but to no avail as my finger just continued to bleed so she proceeded with the manicure. At this point, i was getting progressively frustrated and just hoped at least the end result would turn out nice. It took her many attempts to apply the tips and it still turned out uneven. She also noticed the blood showing through the colour and tried again to wipe it off with alcohol but couldn't get it out. Even after all this, there was no apology or offer of a discount. I saw friends right after who were appalled by my experience and how unprofessional my manicure looked and I will continue to discourage anyone I speak to from coming to this salon. I never write bad reviews nor complain but this experience was so beyond frustrating, I would never recommend anyone to go through what I had to endure. In fact, as I stare at it now, it looks disgusting! I can also see the clear top coat on the outside of my toe nails. I think my 3 year old nephew could've done a better job at this point for goodness sake! I had my sunglasses on inside and didn't notice the clumpiness until I had already left the salon. They have a few other locations located inside wal-marts i believe. Upon reaching there we were told to come back in 30 mins since it was soo busy... WTF?!? Secondly, it was very difficult to understand the manger because she would speak to me half in chinese and half in english.
