After I initially posted my 1-star review, I was contacted and offered financial help to fix the damage, on the condition that I remove my review. In good faith, I agreed and removed the review.
However, once the review was removed, the amount they offered was reduced. They then claimed they had already "helped" by giving me $60 despite it being a partial refund for the original haircut. For context, the haircut cost $88 and I was refunded $60.
This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. Based on how this situation was handled, it explains how this salon has a 4+ star rating. Look at the other low reviews and you can see she gives offers or attacks the people who felt they were wronged.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I'm really disappointed with my recent experience. This salon has been the only place I've trusted with my hair for about 9 years because I've had many bad haircuts in the past and cutting it short was the only solution so I'm very anxious about haircuts I always make it clear I want as little taken off as I can due to past experience
When I came in yesterday, I mentioned that I'm getting photos taken for my graduation and that I made it very clear to keep as much length as possible. During the consultation it was shown that about 2 inches would be taken off, which I was comfortable with but she cut off closer to a foot of length. It was devastating
When we called afterward, Roxanna acknowledged that I had been there and even referenced that the haircut was for my graduation photos. However, once a refund was mentioned, the response shifted and my mom was asked how she knew I had even been there. The only concern raised was that when I left I had said I liked it. My mom explained that I was too upset at the time but didn't know how to confront it in the moment. But they never rejected that I didn't agree to such a short haircut
She told my mom to come in to pick up the refund, so my mom went in and apologized, explaining that this wasn't something we wanted to do but that we needed the money back so I could try to fix haircut but the only thing the hairdresser said was " I hope your daughter never come back again" after 9 years of being with her having no issues she said that over $60 ( she kept tip and tax so she was paid ) I've never complained before didn't even get upset when she yanked my eyebrow piercing 2 times back to back but a foot of hair gone was too devastating for me. I wasn't going to drop her as a stylist over this haircut people make mistakes but her attitude is disrespectful and disgusting for no reason
If you value being able to express concerns about your hair I wouldn't recommend this place they don't want to hear it.
UPDATE
Roxana's son contacted me to try to make things right after he saw the review, but all he did was give me false hope of a proper fix. He made it seem like I was going to get a good deal on hair extensions saying I would only have to pay for the supplies and that he would contribute $100 toward it.
However, when he came back with the actual offer, it was $100 installation, and I had to provide my own hair extensions. This made it essentially the same price as going anywhere else, except I had to figure out where to get hair from.
When he first called me with this offer, I also asked if, instead of going to his recommended person (not affiliated with the salon ), I could go to someone else and still receive the $100 he offered. He agreed.
I ended up going to someone else, but then he reduced the original offer by $20. For context, I paid around $1,000 total for my hair extensions, as the person I went to offered a reduced rate after seeing my situation. So $80 does not go very far especially considering Roxana had already kept $28 from the original haircut making the actual additional amount only $52
Also he told me that she "did what she thought was right." However, during the haircut, I was clearly told that only 2 inches would be cut. Even if it was a better option that isn't her choice to make without my consent I have to live with it, not her. read more
