Luckily it was still under warranty, but we'd need to stuff all of our food in large coolers for nearly a week until the manufacturer sent someone over. We went to Spring Liquor, right down the street from our home, because of their prices on bags of ice; my dad had gone there the night before. My goddaughter and I needed nine bags for the night. As we strategized how we'd muscle nine bags of ice out of there, trying to avoid two trips, the owner gave us empty boxes to carry them in, while giving us an extra set of hands for what ended up being three boxes--each of us carrying one. Maybe it's because of the many questionable experiences I've had with other businesses in the area, but this tiny deed had a lasting impact on me, and just for that, I will continue doing business there.
