This was my third visit to any Total Wine, my first two were in Marina del Rey, CA. This total wine is HUGE and the customer service is bar none, the best experience I have had buying libations. Thwy have a representative for a general area that is a specialist. I asked niche questions regarding tequila, bourbon and scotch and they answered them and gave input on their experience coupled with the feedback they get from their guests. I was guided through my experience and nothing was pushed to be sold. It was an epic experience. Just hands down, EXCELLENT guest service! There were people offering samples and we enjoyed trying the samples but one lady never offered us a sample eventhough we stood at her station for a long while. Great customer service - walked in and there was a guy giving samples. That's great! Of course, I was carded with my good genes. The motijo was yummy, but my mum didn't like it. Based on my debut experience at Total Wine Willowbrook in a previous review, my family and I have become regulars at the Humble location closer to home. I came here first in 2019 to pick up a bottle of Nuvo, an iconic drink and a FAVORITE of my late aunt. The pink liqueur only recently went back into production, and Total Wine is one of the few stores in the area that carries it. The service was as great as before, especially with the measures taken during the earlier (simpler?) days of coronavirus when I returned in early 2020; the masked clerk gave me a cleaned basket and pointed me right to their Bailey's stock, down to the very bay (shelf) once again. This is literally a continuation of a previous review, and I can't say anything more other than I'm glad to be a Total Wine rewards member. I love the wine cellar ambience, I love the specialty service, I love that they don't discriminate with their inventory and they're just an all around great store. read more

Their customer care service is incompetent and do not know their own policies. I waiting on hold for well over 10 minutes and they were unable in any way to help me. The store manager did call me however after I sent a complaint by email and did apologize and although wasn't able to refund my money, did offer to resolve the issue at a future time. read more

This place beat anyone's prices! A friend called to tell me about the price of the 1.75L of Belvedere. At Specs, it runs me $70 (w/ tax). However, here, it ran me exactly $40.04 (w/ tax); that is the price of a smaller bottle at Specs. No frills displays or junk to sell at the register. Service was available. I had a really challenging experience at this store. While shopping for a few spirits, I was followed by an older man wearing jeans and suspenders. After being in the store for about 5 minutes, a black gentleman showed up and started asking questions after I told him that I didn't really need any help. I then noticed the older man and another white man, appear to be lurking around the corner. They then approached the black gentleman and started making small talk about a box and how to place said box on a shelf. As a 60 year old black southern man, this made me very uncomfortable. I must say that this was something I have not experienced in a very long time. I attempted to contact management via their survey, and had no success with a return phone call or email. They used to take your account number and type it in for you. Since the coronavirus they put on gloves and make each customer type it into the naked keypad. Now they act like they don't know how to enter your phone number if you give it to them. I told the manager, Wayne, he said " it's company policy. That's just the way we do it. But, its a elderly caucasian man that works there and always want me to prove something I'm not. Meaning, if I have my ID what more do you need for me to prove my age. We saw an incredible selection of wines, it was actually overwhelming. You need to be an educated wine shopper as the prices were very high on some wines, low on others and competitive in some cases. Quite possibly the worst experience you can have with customer service at this place. If your looking for something rare they (5 of them today) will tell they don't have it. Only to find out they did have it. My wife was harassed today when she went in to buy a bottle of Blantons at the front desk. Rude and mean. I've experienced the same thing from another woman that works at the front desk. We'll be shopping at Spec's from now on. So my son who is 30 yrs old was about to check out is asked for ID, he shows it and has his little brother who is 13 years old a minor with him. They refused to sell him his items. The manager would not allow him to make a purchase because he was not the his little brother legal guardian. Why not ask when you walk I. And not waste people's time. This is the 2nd time his store has refused service. Last time I was there to taste a wine and my friend I was with who was 30 yrs old didn't have her ID but I did. They wouldn't serve us because she had no ID but wasn't going to taste. Just because she was witt me. Maybe because we are Mexicans. But we won't be back to this store ever again.
