The moment you walk in the door or up the aisle, you are greeted by an employee asking if you need assistance. If not, there's someone readily available. I've asked assistance on where to find a particular brand or for recommendations on French wine. The store seems to be constantly rearranging when they advertise certain brands along the entrance. Best to ask if you don't know where to go, though, each aisle is pretty organized. I started going to this location because it's close to me, and every physical therapy month in October, my staff and I would chip in for gift cards here for our PTs. I'm a member, so I also earn points towards a couple dollars off when I make purchases. If you're on their email list, you'll get deals and info about classes. I've tried a range from wine to ciders to saki. My latest venture is the non alcoholic section. Ritual and Seedlip are some of my preferred brands. I'd like to try others to recreate some cocktails in a zero proof way. I also booked a wine class last October called Left Bank, Right Bank All About Bordeaux. They serve a beautiful charcuterie board with crackers to enjoy with the wine. I enjoyed learning about the history. The small room in the back can fill up. There are other classes offered for rum, tequila, etc. for $20. They once had celebrities here, too. I placed an order with Total Wine totaling $359.34 and never received it. When I contacted their customer service, they told me the order was delivered to someone else--and even gave me the name on the ID that accepted it. That name was not mine, and they confirmed it wasn't me. Despite admitting it wasn't delivered to the correct person, they refused to refund me. Instead, they told me to dispute the charge with my bank--essentially pushing the responsibility onto me instead of correcting their own error. What's worse is that they supposedly have a policy in place to protect customers in cases like this, but they don't enforce it. I was left with no product and no support, even after spending hundreds of dollars. I strongly advise against shopping with Total Wine, especially online. A few things you should know: Due to current world events, the pandemic and such, curbside orders can take up to 24 hours for Total Wine to fulfill. If you're in the need for speed, go inside. They do provide hand sani upon entry. (Wear your facemask, too. Seriously. It was a brainstorming on Friday, but that didn't deter shoppers. It was busy.) Another thing to know before you go is register for their rewards program. Shout out to Yelper Eddie S who wrote in his review that Total Wine is cheaper than Spec's (by a few bucks here and there). You'll find almost any kind of wine, spirit, beer, etc at Total Wine. All the top favorites you can get chilled from the fridge in the back or you can get room temp. Purchased a bottle of Lunazul Tequila on Friday night just to get home for it taste weird. Had a corn taste to it. Call Saturday to inform the store. A Mattis told me to come return and swap it out. Got to the store the store, talked with Sebastian. Sebastian smelled the returned bottle and immediately was able to tell me it was a cork issue. Cork had bacteria on it. Well got home with the second bottle same issue! Call the store back to explain the situation. Then talked with Victor. Told me he was aware, and will have to check to see if it's actually liquor in the bottle. Which lol the first offense I'm like what okay. No issues, but then to get back to the store to tell me there's nothing they can do is very inconvenient, inconsiderate, and also very unfair. Sebastian told me the shipment came three days prior. Houston's newest Total Wine location is an absolute winner!!! The selection is the same great selection, and the location is great as well. We walked in today and were met with great hospitality, great smiles, and lots of friendly associates asking if we needed help. Now granted, they're still in their grand opening phase, but it's just so nice to see them opening up in class. Live music near the checkout and this location has their bar open. The prices here are the same as any other of their locations. Checkout was speedy and efficient. We're members, and today was my $5 off my order day, so forget to sign up for their rewards club. Absolutely will not ever come back to this location. My wife and I came in on Saturday November 16th around 4pm with intentions of buying alcohol to serve our 100 guest wedding the following week. As we entered we grabbed a shopping cart but my wife felt hungry so she decided to jump in line for a bag of chips. I waited for her while I browsed, 10 minutes later she calls to say can you bring my ID they will not let me buy a bag of chips without it. The cashier told my wife to go to Kroger to buy her chips. I laughed and went to the counter. We had left her ID in the car but I offered mine to buy the chips for her. The lady left us in line for 5 minutes while we were made a spectacle of to come back and say I cannot serve either of you without both IDs. I told her thanks and we walked out. My cousin and I went in on Saturday, January 21 to look for a gift for Lunar New Year for my dad. The bottle I wanted was locked up so I was advised to press the button to wait for someone to unlock the door. As we were waiting, my cousin stopped at a table for samples. The female manager with glasses (I was told her name is Kristin) arrived to assist us. She looks my cousin and me up and down and asks, "how can I help you?" With a lot to attitude. Again, with a lot of attitude as we were inconveniencing her for doing her job. My cousin was holding her empty sample cup during this interaction. After she told us they were holding our bottle, she looks at my cousin with the dirtiest look and tells her, "you need to finish your sample." My cousin said the cup is empty and the manager says "ok well you need to throw the cup away." AGAIN, what is this manager's problem? I want to say that I have always had friendly help here but that manager needs to be humbled fast. Is it beneath her to be the key holder for the more expensive bottles? I came to make a pick up from curbside and it was not the greatest experience. As soon as the manager approached me she had a dry attitude by ignoring my greeting and went straight to ask for my ID. As I start to go through my purse I realized I forgot it in another purse. I apologize and ask if she would take a picture of my ID that I had on my phone since I was already there and did not want to make the drive back home and she declined in a very arrogant way. I then proceeded to ask if I can put someone else's name to pick up my order and she replies before I can finish my sentence "call customer service!"
