The moment you walk in the door or up the aisle, you are greeted by an employee asking if you need assistance. If not, there's someone readily available. I've asked assistance on where to find a particular brand or for recommendations on French wine. The store seems to be constantly rearranging when they advertise certain brands along the entrance. Best to ask if you don't know where to go, though, each aisle is pretty organized. I started going to this location because it's close to me, and every physical therapy month in October, my staff and I would chip in for gift cards here for our PTs. I'm a member, so I also earn points towards a couple dollars off when I make purchases. If you're on their email list, you'll get deals and info about classes. I've tried a range from wine to ciders to saki. My latest venture is the non alcoholic section. Ritual and Seedlip are some of my preferred brands. I'd like to try others to recreate some cocktails in a zero proof way. I also booked a wine class last October called Left Bank, Right Bank All About Bordeaux. They serve a beautiful charcuterie board with crackers to enjoy with the wine. I enjoyed learning about the history. The small room in the back can fill up. There are other classes offered for rum, tequila, etc. for $20. They once had celebrities here, too. Around mid November to January, they don't really offer classes because they store shipment for the holiday season and need the space. read more

I ordered and paid for an expensive 2016 vintage wine. Without notice or price adjustment, Total Wine delivered a lower rated 2015 vintage. I feel like they're trying to cheat me, hoping I won't notice. So if you are ordering expensive special vintage wine, you cannot trust their delivery service. You should pick it up in person read more

The staff here are so polite and helpful! They really make the experience I came early to pick up an online order. The staff was stocking & getting ready for the day, but everyone still said hi to me and offered to help. The vibe was just so positive and really made my first time here a great experience Parking: there's tons of parking because it's in a shopping center. They do have some spots closer to the door if you're doing a pickup Service: the staff is all very friendly. The person helping with the my online order also helped bring it out to my car and load it up for me Selection: I didn't shop around too much because my order was online but they seemed pretty stocked with everything read more

Very disappointing. They claim to have excellent customer service but they use incompetent inconsistent Door Dash delivery people who dont care about your orders. This happened a few years earlier, and we gave them another chance. They messed up again today, and we had to scramble because we were hosting a party. Sorry, I'd recommend paying a little more and going with Spec's. read more

Best Total Wine Experience in Texas! I stopped into Total Wine for a quick pick-up for my homeboy's birthday, and let me tell you, the experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and felt incredibly welcomed. I must have looked a bit lost because an associate, Terry (or Terri, sorry for the spelling!), kindly offered assistance. Now, I was balling on a budget, but Terry made me feel like a VIP customer. She asked all the right questions--what I was looking to buy and, more importantly, my budget. I told her I wanted a tequila reposado and that I wasn't into sweeter tequilas. She pointed me in the perfect direction and even let me sample Suavecito. When I tell you I nearly fainted, I'm not exaggerating--this tequila was exquisite, and the best part? It was within my budget! By the time I checked out, Evan was quick, thorough, and super polite, making the whole experience seamless. This was hands down the best Total Wine experience I've had since moving to Texas a year ago. It was such a beautiful moment that I had to sit in the parking lot and type this review out immediately. If you're ever in the area, you HAVE to stop by this Total Wine. Thank you to the team for making me feel so welcome and valued. You guys are the best! read more

Upon entering the store, it was very clean. I visited this total wine for a rum tasting. This was so much fun! Though I am not a fan of rum straight, it was cool tasting the different options. They did provide a Mojito, which was really good. Very refreshing. I also enjoyed the spiced rum. I appreciated the fact that they did a presentation along with the tasting. They also provided small bites for us to eat. We tasted eight different rums. It was fun for a date night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good vibe! I would definitely do another class. read more

Always great customer service. Huge selection of dark beers! Of course there are many wine and liquor options, as well. It tends to be a busy location so be prepared to wait in line but they do their best to move the lines along as quickly as possible. read more

Not really sure why this place doesn't have a 5-star rating. The selection is fantastic here. Personally I love living next to a total wine. It's got everything I need and then some. Prices are good and service is good too. Obviously will be back. read more

Came in for a wine tasting tour of France class and I was blown away by the customer service. We tasted eight wines and I will definitely have to recommend their classes! Our instructor was Mark and we were able to learn more about wine, the regions we prefer drinking from and blends. Mark was lively and made the class fun, and even taught us about the layouts in store. This made my experience at Total Wine even more well rounded and I'm excited for the next class! read more

Got to visit my favorite place again came back to Texas for personal reasons. Walked in couldn't remember the name of what I wanted the little lady approached me immediately, so I started to describe the shape of the bottle. Can I just say she knew exactly and took me right to it. Am jumping for joy. I also picked a new flavor. Yummy. Like I mentioned before. A candy store for adults read more

They offer delivery services and have much lower prices than regular liquor stores. Delivery is usually within a few hours.

Everything went well. From the time I walked in the store, till the time I walked out. I felt like a celebrity, I was offered drinks, assistance as well as shown The What's, Where and Why. The ToysRUs of Drinks, I love it. Now I go once a week. Thanks! read more

Stopped by for a few things on a Monday afternoon. Was greeted pretty quickly as I got in the aisle I needed to be. Terri (not sure spelling) was amazing. Knew where the items I needed were and gave me some recommendations for things I wasn't sure about. Even found me lost on another aisle and walked me over to where the item was. No wait for checkout. Was in and out rather quickly. Prices are reasonable for the items you need. Store setup and labeled to easily find your items. The customer service I received today, was beyond great. read more

Jesus! You need a drink after waiting in line at this place! 2 caskets on a Friday.

I placed an order with Total Wine totaling $359.34 and never received it. When I contacted their customer service, they told me the order was delivered to someone else--and even gave me the name on the ID that accepted it. That name was not mine, and they confirmed it wasn't me. Despite admitting it wasn't delivered to the correct person, they refused to refund me. Instead, they told me to dispute the charge with my bank--essentially pushing the responsibility onto me instead of correcting their own error. What's worse is that they supposedly have a policy in place to protect customers in cases like this, but they don't enforce it. I was left with no product and no support, even after spending hundreds of dollars. I strongly advise against shopping with Total Wine, especially online. If something goes wrong, don't expect them to make it right. read more

I'm writing to express my disappointment and confusion following an experience I had at your 2875 Katy freeway service rd houston tx 77007 store on October 3, 2025. I have been a loyal customer of this location for over two years and typically shop with my older sister, as I did on this occasion. Upon reaching the register, I was informed that my purchase of alcohol could not be completed because my sister, who was standing behind me, presented a digital ID on her phone rather than a physical form of identification. While I understand and fully support policies that ensure alcohol is sold responsibly, I want to point out a few important details: 1. Policy Clarity: According to Total Wine's stated policy, all members of a group appearing under the age of 30 must present identification. Nowhere in that policy is it clearly stated that only physical IDs are acceptable, nor that digital or scannable IDs (which are government-issued and verifiable) would be refused. 2. Inconsistency in Enforcement: My sister has used her digital ID at this very location on multiple occasions--most recently on September 1, 2025--without issue. This inconsistency raises concerns about staff training and the communication of store policy. 3. Lack of Transparency and Notice: If there has been a recent change in policy--particularly one that deviates from what customers have previously experienced--it would be reasonable to expect clear signage or communication. Instead, we were met with a sudden refusal, which felt arbitrary and frustrating. Both my sister and I have accounts with Total Wine and have never had a problem until now. This experience has left us questioning the professionalism and consistency of store operations. If digital IDs are no longer accepted, that should be clearly communicated at the entrance, on the website, and by your employees--before a customer reaches the register. I hope this message brings attention to the importance of consistent policy enforcement and clear customer communication. I would appreciate a response and clarification regarding your ID policy moving forward. read more

I placed an order for pickup the following day. The day of pickup I received a call that they were sold out. If I could have did zero stars , I would have . Dell , the manager is a terrible person ! I , along with 3 friends who look young ( all black women ) went to spend MONEY ( we had about $500 worth of products)and he was extremely rude and pointing his fingers in our faces . Attempting to hold our id's and then asked us to leave the store ( after we had already decided we weren't going to buy anything BECAUSE OF HIM !! ) . All the other employees we encountered were very nice and helpful . It's unfortunate that he behaved the way he did , he was only asked to come over because we aren't from TX , so we have out of state id's . We only wanted to know why he needed to overly examine our id's , I'm FLOORED with his attitude. The manner in which he conducted himself was disgusting and deplorable. We genuinely didn't deserve it . read more

This liquor store has an extensive selection of wine but their small bottles of liquor are overpriced for the quantity it has.

Huge selection of wine! Very knowledgeable salespeople. They have a two hour wine tasting class with 6-8 wines and food that is catered for $20 per person. Salesperson was really helpful in explaining about the different classes. Helped me pick out a wine basket for a gift. read more

So thankful there is a new Total Wine just a bit closer to me than before. This new location is in The Heights next to Kroger and the new Ulta Beauty. Yes, another reason to shop here. Previously, I had to drive out to the MedCenter/West U location. Now, I still prefer to shop at my neighborhood liquor stores, but they don't always have what I need. A few things you should know: Due to current world events, the pandemic and such, curbside orders can take up to 24 hours for Total Wine to fulfill. If you're in the need for speed, go inside. They do provide hand sani upon entry. (Wear your facemask, too. Seriously. It was a brainstorming on Friday, but that didn't deter shoppers. It was busy.) Another thing to know before you go is register for their rewards program. Shout out to Yelper Eddie S who wrote in his review that Total Wine is cheaper than Spec's (by a few bucks here and there). Well, he was right. I did some price comparisons, and TW beat Spec's by a few dollars. (Spec's does have Total Wine beat on the peppy customer service and knowledgeable staff, though.) read more

I ordered online and when I poured out this is what I saw. Called Total Wine. Was hung up on twice. Third time the lady didn't put me on hold, but was telling someone that I wanted to speak to a manager (never asked to speak to a manager-just wanted to know what they wanted me to do). After her telling the manager that I wanted to speak with them and them saying no, she tells me that there is no one that can talk to me. Someone finally came on the phone, but seriously, this is their customer service?!?! read more

Maddox helped me buy alcohol for my daughters wedding; we wanted a full bar and wine service. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He knew how much to buy and made sure I did not run out but also took any unopened bottles back without a restocking fee (unlike Specs). He advised me not to buy the most expensive liquor/wine but the best tasting. I was extremely impressed and highly recommend the store and him. If I could give 10 stars I would! read more

Gawd listened to my prayers and finally brought a Total Wine to the Heights/Midtown/Montrose area.. and it meets ALL my expectations! And I mean all of em! If you've never been to a Total Wine location before you will be blown away. Think Specs.. but on crack! And with knowledgable employees who have some awesome recommendations. You'll find almost any kind of wine, spirit, beer, etc at Total Wine. All the top favorites you can get chilled from the fridge in the back or you can get room temp. There's a cigar room for all you nasties that are into that. They regularly have tastings of all sorts of devils juices throughout the week. Everything inside this store is incredibly organized, whoever the interior decorator is at corp.. great job bruh! No more long drives to Costco for my booze because Total Wine is now here AND!! They're prices are usually about the same and sometimes cheaper ;) Always cheaper than Spec's though.. PLEASE TAKE NOTE. read more

The service here is terrible me and my sister where rudely treated. So great to have a Total Wine around my stomping grounds - sometimes you just need a big place with a huge selection to really find what you need. Store was clean, tons of parking, and great, well-organized selection. read more

Houston's newest Total Wine location is an absolute winner!!! The selection is the same great selection, and the location is great as well. We walked in today and were met with great hospitality, great smiles, and lots of friendly associates asking if we needed help. Now granted, they're still in their grand opening phase, but it's just so nice to see them opening up in class. Live music near the checkout and this location has their bar open. The prices here are the same as any other of their locations. Checkout was speedy and efficient. We're members, and today was my $5 off my order day, so forget to sign up for their rewards club. Another tip...be sure to get the Ibotta app. You can get cash back on certain top shelf items but submitting your receipt. Thank you for opening this location! read more

Terrible customer service. Valerie told us we couldn't purchase liquor because my child came in with us, mind you it's 100 degrees outside. She didn't say anything to anyone else in line. Definitely hand picked us and had a nasty attitude. Makes me not want to come back to this location. read more

Purchased a bottle of Lunazul Tequila on Friday night just to get home for it taste weird. Had a corn taste to it. Call Saturday to inform the store. A Mattis told me to come return and swap it out. Got to the store the store, talked with Sebastian. Sebastian smelled the returned bottle and immediately was able to tell me it was a cork issue. Cork had bacteria on it. Well got home with the second bottle same issue! Call the store back to explain the situation. Then talked with Victor. Told me he was aware, and will have to check to see if it's actually liquor in the bottle. Which lol the first offense I'm like what okay. No issues, but then to get back to the store to tell me there's nothing they can do is very inconvenient, inconsiderate, and also very unfair. Sebastian told me the shipment came three days prior. I'm thinking maybe the whole shipment is off. Sebastian and Victor took a sip of the liquor to say it's nothing wrong with it, as if I was making everything up. My boyfriend and I will never shop here and if you have any issues with purchases they are absolutely no help. I'm out of my money and going home with no liquor. read more

My cousin and I went in on Saturday, January 21 to look for a gift for Lunar New Year for my dad. The bottle I wanted was locked up so I was advised to press the button to wait for someone to unlock the door. As we were waiting, my cousin stopped at a table for samples. The female manager with glasses (I was told her name is Kristin) arrived to assist us. She looks my cousin and me up and down and asks, "how can I help you?" With a lot to attitude. Totally unwarranted. I told her what I wanted and she let me know she had to carry the bottle to the cash register where they will hold it for us. Again, with a lot of attitude as we were inconveniencing her for doing her job. My cousin was holding her empty sample cup during this interaction. After she told us they were holding our bottle, she looks at my cousin with the dirtiest look and tells her, "you need to finish your sample." My cousin said the cup is empty and the manager says "ok well you need to throw the cup away." AGAIN, what is this manager's problem? I want to say that I have always had friendly help here but that manager needs to be humbled fast. Is it beneath her to be the key holder for the more expensive bottles? (Ours wasn't even really on the high end, it was the large martell blue swift for $50!) The cashier was lovely and she apologized on behalf of her own manager. I go here since it's convenient for me but if Kristin was to help me again I will request for someone else. read more

I came to make a pick up from curbside and it was not the greatest experience. As soon as the manager approached me she had a dry attitude by ignoring my greeting and went straight to ask for my ID. As I start to go through my purse I realized I forgot it in another purse. I apologize and ask if she would take a picture of my ID that I had on my phone since I was already there and did not want to make the drive back home and she declined in a very arrogant way. I then proceeded to ask if I can put someone else's name to pick up my order and she replies before I can finish my sentence "call customer service!" I am almost positive I received that kind of service because I look younger than 21 and I understand the rules and regulations however; it was very rude and made me not want to shop there anymore. read more
