I have worked with Dave Johnson at Sea Coast for years now. I have a connective tissue disorder…read morecalled Ehlers Danlos, which takes great expertise to work with. I have had several surgeries that required Dave's special skills. I just had shoulder surgery, bicep repair & tendon relocation and I am currently working with Dave again. I have used other therapists in the past, but once I met Dave, I immediately recognized the difference. Dave is a hands on therapist, meaning he is going to manually work on you, as well as assign therapeutic exercises. Since working with a therapist that manually works on me, I have noticed a significant increase in my healing time. When you have an appointment with Dave, he is with you every step of the way. Therapy can be painful as you heal, but Dave makes sure to distract you with humor (think bad dad jokes) when needed. The big difference with this practice is the approach to the client. When you are there for a session with Dave, he is only going to be working with you. He isn't dividing his time between several clients. There may be bigger practices in town, but there are none better than Sea Coast. Give Dave a call, your body will definitely thank you for it!

I've had severe pain in my lower back for more than 20 years. I've tried everything:…read more chiropractic, physical therapy (P/T), steroid injections, laminectomy, nerve ablation, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), acupuncture, massage therapy, and more. The procedure to having spinal stimulator surgery required me to go to physical therapy first. My expectations were low, but P/T was a requirement. I decided to use a different therapist, so I went to Seacoast Physical Therapy. To my amazement and after three weeks with David Johnson and Mary Jane Phelps, I was able to stand up straight, something I had been unable to do for a very long time. Soon afterward, I was able to walk twice as far as I could before. A week later, I felt so much better than I put my surgery on hold. Now, at the end of my sessions, I have a set of stretches and exercises that I try to do, but must do, every today. If you are in back pain and considering surgery in south-eastern NC, consider physical therapy at Seacoast Physical Therapy.

I had a bit of a stressful week and figured it was time to have a massage. Now I am no massage…read moreexpert, and honestly, this was only my second one in my life... however, I can tell you I will be going back monthly. Making the reservation was very easy. You just go onto their website and select the type of massage or experience you are looking for. You can choose a specific person or any, and pick your time. They do book up, however, I was lucky and made an appointment the day before. If you are looking for specific times though, I would try to go at least a week, sometimes two weeks in advance. When you arrive, you walk right into their waiting room which is very calming. Their are signs that tell you to silence your phone, and wait for someone to come grab you. Once you go back, there are multiple rooms. The rooms themselves are also very calming and they have heated tables for your massage. They ask you various questions about pressure, any allergies, types of scents, etc and then they get right into it. Overall, this was everything I needed and more. I love how close it is to my house, the ease of booking, and how comfortable they make you feel. Lovely experience and I have already not only made my husband an appointment but booked mine for next month!

Don't go here. My massage therapist has always been wonderful, but their customer service is…read morebeyond horrible. I had an appointment this morning that I couldn't make due to a medical issue. Got a call from them asking me why I didn't show up, which is totally understandable When I tried to explain and apologize to the lady and tell her to just charge my card for the missed appointment she got very pissed off and basically hung up on me while I was in the middle of trying to explain why I couldn't be there. Excuse my language, but she was a real bitch. Took a time out. Then went to their website to send a message about what a bad experience I had. When you click on 'send a message' it takes you to a page saying they don't accept messages. So I searched on the internet for their phone number (which isn't on there website) and gave them a call to let them know they may not have the best customer service person making follow-up calls. And I got the same lady! I guess they only have one person answering calls. We talked for about a minute before she went back to her old routine, how she had to hang up on me because 'her' therapist had been waiting for me for 15 minutes and she needed to get in touch with someone to see if they would take my spot, both horrible lies since I told her earlier I'd pay for the missed appointment. Any way, I eventually told her thanks and my new mission in life was going to be destroying this place on social media. So here's my first attempt to do that!
