I've been going to see Dr Yen since she opened the office, and I'm really happy that I made the switch! First of all, Dr Yen is the sweetest person and always makes me feel like a dear friend when I visit. Secondly, the office is absolutely beautiful and they really try to make your visit a positive experience. When I filled out my initial application they ask what types of shows and music I like. Every time I visit, a playlist from my favorite band is already playing in the exam room which is a great touch. You can also watch Netflix shows during your exam. But onto the important stuff - the dental work! I really appreciate that Dr Yen, even with all of her fancy equipment and new-construction office, is not a pushy money grabbing dentist. She has always been very reasonable and thoughtful with her treatment plans, never pushing any unnecessary treatments or services, while also having great attention to detail during her exams and fillings (the only treatment I've ever gotten here so far).

Folks: if you have always cringed going to the dentist, cringe no more! At Union Street Dental,…read morethe owner, Dr. Yen, and her dental team are there for you to ensure that your dental experience is as painless as possible. The skeptical side of you asks: "Is that even possible?" Yes. First off, the interior is very clean and modern looking. You also are given a mug for Keurig coffee while you wait. During the actual cleaning, the dental hygienists and Dr. Yen are very patient-oriented - and this is based on my experiences with dental personnel in the past - in that they will make sure you are comfortable amidst the whole process. They will ask, for example, for you to raise your left hand if you are feeling any sort of discomfort, as well as will tap your chin when they want you to close/open wider your mouth. Another [notable] difference with Union Street Dental is that during your specific visit your room will have speakers busting music out of them. What kind of music, you ask? Music preferences derived from the initial questionnaire you filled out, that is! This means that essentially every time I am at Union Street Dental my music preferences (apparently stuck in the early 2000s) of Neyo, Jason Derulo, and Usher will be graciously welcoming my presence! Following my first visit at Union Street Dental, I was given a complementary Soniccare electronic toothbrush. Yup. But what takes the cake is that during the cleaning, your room is equipped with a private TV above you with Netflix - yes, that's right, you can Netflix and Chill while your teeth are being cleaned (a different kind of Netflix and Chill). Do be mindful, however, to not watch anything comical: I remembered my last visit I was watching Bojack Horseman and ultimately ended up bursting in laughter while my teeth were being deep cleaned. Oops!

Then they charge 3% if you use a credit card to pay! I will be looking for another dentist. This practice is a money making factory that charges 25% more than most dentists.

I started going to Dr. Amato's former partner,Chris Lecuyer, when I moved to Seattle in 1987. I am a nervous patient (I had a lot of painful dental work as a child) and I tend to talk too much when I get nervous in the dental chair, but they never make me feel like a nut-and I can get pretty nutty! I ended up having to have a dental implant while dealing with some fairly serious non-dental health issues simultaneously this year, and I was pretty much a basket case. They worked around my schedule and got me through it. I had another dental implant elsewhere (at an independent oral surgeon's office) after a bike accident in the 1990s, which resulted in massive swelling and left a receding gum line above the implant. With the implant performed in Dr. Amato's office, I had practically no bleeding, zero swelling and no change to my gumline. Wow! Even after I moved to the eastside in the nineties I still traveled across the lake to Amato's office regularly. I finally started getting my routine cleanings closer to home in Bellevue, but if I ever actually needed dental work, it was back across the bridge I went! Four or five years ago a dentist on the eastside recommended some work after my cleaning, but when I went to Amato's office, they seemed puzzled and said no work was necessary. The tooth is still fine...So now I just slog across the bridge for the cleanings too. I was worried when Chris retired last year, but Dr.Amato is also wonderful and very kind. You can be confident that you will get good care. I love the staff, especially Nicky, who just always goes above and beyond. She made a temporary crown for one of my front teeth that looked good enough to be the permanent-which she did on purpose because I was going to have to wear the temporary for longer than usual week or two. She is super talented and super sweet! Appointment scheduling is easy and communication is efficient, with good reminder texts. My only bone to pick is that you have to pay for parking, which is not normally the case on the eastside but fairly standard in Seattle I think. . This revue is long overdue. Amato Dental Group, I appreciate you!

Making and rescheduling appointments is also fairly painless. However, what makes me truly stay is the doctor. Over the years, I have had many visits to do my braces and clean my teeth, but I still remember the time I had a couple back teeth removed. Before that, I had a negative experience with another doctor, so I was a little nervous going in. But Dr. Huynh truly surprised me with his technique. The removal was virtually painless! The last doctor that removed my tooth was rough and seriously lacked the necessary hand-eye coordination. Dr. Huynh, on the hand, was not only gentle, but also efficient in taking care of my teeth. Truly a testimony of how many years he has been practicing! All in all, I would definitely recommend visiting this office for uncharacteristically pleasant experience!

That other dental office changed management and suddenly was recommending several treatments and they were very intense about it. I decided to get a second opinion and was so glad I did. The appointments were scheduled to be quick and efficient, but not rushed. Also, everyone was just so friendly and knowledgable. I unfortunately moved out of state, and just went to a new dentist here. Comparing experiences led me to want to give this review. I wish all dental offices were as great as this one!
