It was so fun seeing the costumes from the movie, Chuckesmee, and other movie memorabilia. They only allow groups of 10 at a time and you're allowed 15 min to take a look of everything...which is PLENTY of time. My boyfriend and I arrived at around 12:15 and managed to squeeze into the next group. I recommend the earlier you can get to put your name down, the better.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and open--one of the women working there took the time to chat with us, recommend places to eat, nature spots to check out, and even pointed out cool bugs to look for (which honestly made the whole experience feel very local in the best way). I ended up having such a great conversation with her--just genuinely kind and sweet energy. Also, if you're a magnet person... this place is dangerous. They have a really great selection--not just Twilight-themed, but also Port Angeles, La Push, Lake Crescent, and the surrounding areas. My family spent way too long deciding. It's one of those spots that feels less like a tourist stop and more like a reflection of the town itself. Definitely worth popping into while you're in Forks.

It was impressive how much information that the staff could remember to then pass on to each visitor with the same enthusiasm , even though they briefed this so many times. I consider it mandatory to come here to the visitor center so that you can better plan your Forks, Washington trip as a twilight fan or Twihard. Quite a bit of parking here, too!

Forks was big into the timber industry in its early days before the industry declined. They are also known for their abundance of steelhead trout and salmon in nearby rivers. Forks is one of the rainiest towns in the U.S. It is located on Washington's Olympic Peninsula and has a population of around 3,000 people. When I arrived in Forks, I began to notice two big obsessions in this town - Sasquatch and Twilight. Forks hosts annual festivals dedicated to both of these things. I have never read or seen the Twilight movies, but the town of Forks happens to be the setting of the series. Even though the movies weren't filmed here, a number of locations in Forks were used in some scenes. As I drove around town, I started to see Twilight gift shops, signs and merchandise everywhere. The visitor center has Bella's truck and a gift shop that sells merchandise. I observed groups of fans that traveled to this town just to do self-guided tours of Twilight filming locations. I didn't realize those movies were such a big deal. Forks was close proximity to many of the stops that I did in Olympic National Park. The beaches near Forks like Rialto and La Push are just beautiful. There are a number of good places to eat here too. Sully's Drive-In was a popular hang-out spot. I also found a couple of coffee shops that I enjoyed. Forks is a small town that can be driven through in less than ten minutes. Everyone that I encountered in town were really nice.

It's full of both Sasquatch souvenirs and Twilight souvenirs, which is quite the combo. As my friend pointed out, everything is kind of randomly placed through the store, so you have to sort through to find what you want. There are also some souvenirs for Forks and the natural areas nearby. I thought it was funny to look through, but did I buy anything? Nope!
