Really nice little Zoo for a very reasonable price. Lots of rare and exotic animals that you don't normally see. read more

Rainforest Adventures - Zoos Near Me - Sevierville, Tennessee

Had a great time at Rainforest Adventures. Bought a groupon which they accepted no problem. Saw lots of unique animals, all of which seemed to be well taken care of (clean homes, fresh food, etc.) Goats were fun to feed (especially the one w/ curly hair!) read more

This is a cool little zoo! I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the zoo is inside. Several animals from the Amazon and other areas. They have a great 30 minute presentation with a variety of animals. I got to hold a Tarantula.... eeek! There were some awsome snakes and a huge white Cobra! I got several great pictures there. It is a small business, not a huge corporation. It's been in business for 10 years and doing well. It's great for a cool time on a hot day when you still want to do something. It's also great for when you don't want to spend all day at a zoo. It took us about 1 1/2 - 2 hours leasurely walking through and watching the 30 minute show. Typically you walk in and exit through a touristy shop. Here, you enter and exit through the shop. I've heard they had other birds and animals, but there weren't many birds in the bird enclosure. Mostly small birds and fairly empty. The one thing I was surprised about was the lack of water in some of the outdoor enclosures. It was fairly hot and to not have water openly available is not cool. Over all I was impressed. read more

Pretty cool place. Took less than an hour to get through the exhibits but still a really cool place.

This was my favorite part of our Pigeon Forge experience. Alot of animals and tons of knowledge. Friendly staff and they even have a petting zoo. The gift shop is very reasonably priced. You are allowed to take pictures which is a plus. 4 stars cause there was quite a bit of animal feces on the walkway in the petting zoo. I understand thats gonna happen but there was too much in my opinion, you should have to stare at the ground while walking read more

Found the Groupon for admission for 2. My 11 yr old daughter and I enjoyed this! The exhibits are nice and we got to feed the goats, Emu and sheep outside as well. We made it to the live animal show as well. The host did more magic tricks than actual presentations of animals but he was funny and entertaining. My only issue was that some of his jokes were a bit inappropriate for such a young audience. Other than that though it was great. read more

A smaller zoo, mostly indoor, with a small outdoor section where you can feed goats and emu. I found admission tickets on Groupon for about half the price. I'm only giving it 2 stars because I feel several of the animal enclosures were too small. There were some doves in a glass enclosure trying to fly, but had no room to fly, so they were just staying still in one spot flapping their wings. They had several parrots in an open exhibit with 2 Cady in the bottom section. The birds had their wings clipped so they couldn't fly away, but some were very loudly squawking & you could tell it scared the Cady because they would stop eating & just sit real still until they stopped squawking. One of the white parrots, I believe a Cockatoo, was clearly stressed. It plucked out several large feathers from it's tail & it's head feathers were thinned. I had a parrot for about 10 years. When we first got her she did this & the vet said when birds are stressed they will pluck out their feathers. Some of the signs telling you about the animal were missing. I felt bad for the animals. Hoping they can do some updating soon and expand the animal enclosures! read more

Better than it looks from the outside. When you hear Zoo you think open air and when you first pull up to this place you see what I consider to be a medium sized building. Don't let that fool you. It's actually a pretty good-sized place and it took us about two hours to get through it. There are a lot of really interesting animals to look at and the staff was fantastic. read more

We had a great time. Kids really enjoyed feeding the goats, but the best part was the show by Jungle Jim. Kept everyone entertained, taught us new stuff and really engaged the kids. They got to touch some really cool animals and I think this is one of the things they will remember most about our trip. The zoo is not huge, but it's a good afternoon adventure. read more

I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed this place. I would go back in a heart beat! We found about this amazing place thru groupon so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. The outside looked inviting so we qickly ventured in. The smell at first hits u in the face but you quickly get used to it. It takes about an hour to see all the animals and they are worth a look. This location had some monkeys and snakes I had never seen before. But my favorite animal was by far the talking/singing bird. He truly impressed me with his rendition of row row row your boat. I also truly enjoyed feeding the llama. I was afraid he would spit on me, but he didn't so I enjoyed the experience. Truly a hidden gem of an experience. read more

When my family and I entered, we noticed a bad smell. The animals seemed to be in distress. The cages were dirty, and there were a lot of insects in them. Many animals were not in their cages, or else laying around as if they didn't have any will to live. The bathrooms were gross, and the staff was rude. I contacted PETA about the deplorable conditions the animals were living in. read more

Good fun for good value! My daughter loves feeding the goats and sheep! They also have shows where you can pet many of the other animals. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the smell. I would not expect an indoor zoo to smell like roses! Lol read more

Small zoo with a lot of rare and awesome animals. We were fortunate enough to see the animal show with Jim and he was awesome! Great for little ones with the pet/feed area. read more

Super fun. Be prepared tho it's an indoor zoo, so there is a smell but you forget about it. Feeding the goats was fun too!

A little hole in the wall zoo but very good. The smell like some others said was a little powerful but it's mostly indoors. What made the visit was a groupon for a family of 4 for $24 with 2 bags of food. The animals outside were pretty cool for kids. What made the visit was jungle Jim, that guy was awesome. He did anoint an hour show and did magic that was pretty awesome and let the kids and adults touch a lot of creatures and animals. Good visit! We did the whole zoo in about 2 hours including hour show. read more

I loved this place! I went with my boyfriend and it was so cute! My favorite part was getting to feed the animals outside. It was reasonably priced and very cute read more

We bought tickets off Groupon, they are open everyday from 9-5 not sure about holidays. When you go in there is the gift shop with lots of cute things for kids. Then you can enter the zoo. It is inside with a small outside area. The inside was a lot bigger than I expected, they had lots of different animals. The outside area had goats, sheep, and pigs. It's very family friendly and a good price!! read more

Visiting the smokies from out of town and found this groupon. Nice quaint zoo, not as crowded as much so it felt more interactive.

Great Family friendly environment and educational for all with a great gift shop. Kids love it.

We stopped in here. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of animals they had. We enjoyed it and next time we come up we will likely visit again with our granddaughter. read more

Got the idea on groupon with good price, nice place to go.Highly recommend this zoo! There are collection of animals from throughout the world.Just pull up to the place to feed the donkeys and goats! read more

There is a good selection of animals to see as long as you don't mind the smell. Avoid the bathrooms as they are not clean. Most of the animals are visible. There are some animals outside. The bird enclosure was closed when we went. read more

This place is extremely small. It's not worth any amount of money. There's a few snakes and lizards, then some llamas, and goats to feed if you pay extra for the food. It last l About 30 mins and you have seen everything it has to offer read more

This place is depressing. Almost ruined the last day of our vacation. We're currently trying to find something to distract us from what we just saw. :( the animals are kept in TINY and FILTHY cages, and have obvious signs of neglect. The caiman (cousin to the alligator/crocodile) was in an enclosure that didn't even have enough water to submerge itself in. The animals need to be seen by vets and or rescued and given to a facility that is able to care for them properly. I'm disgusted that I gave this place my money. The outdoor animals were extremely matted and dirty, and looked extremely unkept. They were walking on concrete like ground covered in filth and excrement. There was a ROTTING dead rat in a snakes cage - I'm assuming it was supposed to be it's meal, a few days ago! Please support facilities like "The Deer Farm" that obviously love and take care of their animals, and avoid this place if you're an animal lover like us. :( read more

Absolutely love this place. We have been 2x and we see different things each time. My favorite stuff to see was the feeding times with snakes. We also got to watch the birds get "groomed" that was so fun read more

Not worth the money cost my family 40 dollars with coupon and it took all of an hour to get through and my 5 year was bite by the donkey and when I spoke with the manager she did not do anything but give my child a band aid and said your ok if I could give it no stars I would will never go back nor recommend this place to any one ever read more

My family visited this zoo earlier today while one vacation for this week. The two women behind the counter were extremely rude to us bc we were using a groupon gift voucher. They got really snippy with me about "printing the voucher". In my email it stated that you could scan the barcode. I was told in a very rude tone that "Youre supposed to print it out or download the app but I will allow it THIS TIME." They had attitudes and were very unprofessional! We will NEVER come back to this place. You should really have people with exceptional customer service skills to work with guests. read more

This is simply a money machine operating at the expense of these poor animals. Not one exhibit had enough room for the creatures housed in it, and none of the animals have access to natural sunlight or fresh air. The were all lethargic; one prairie dog was frantically pawing at the glass to try to get out the entire time we were there. So incredibly sad. The outdoor animals were your typical petting zoo fare and seemed decently cared for, but every animal inside is living in the equivalent of a jail. I"m not a PETA/activist of any sort, but anyone with eyes can see that this is no way to treat any living creature. Don't give your money to this awful place. Save the time, the admission fee, and spend your money elsewhere. read more

This is a fantastic zoo! I know there are a million attractions in the area (because it feels like we did most of them), but amid all the family fun centers, dinner shows, and museums is a hidden gem. It is rainforest themed (hence the name) and they do a great job involving all your senses (even the smell I thought was subtle and added to the experience despite what other reviews said). Just like the rainforest, the facility is full of terrariums (think aquarium but no water) with reptiles and small mammals. This was a great change of pace from all the all go, go, go activities. My kids had a great time searching for all the amazing creatures in their exhibits (think of it like an epic game of hidden pictures in a Highlights magazine). The facility is not large, but we enjoyed taking our time as we went through. We even got to feed some of the animals! One of the best parts was the animal show. It runs a couple of times a day. You will definitely want to time your visit to see it (I don't know if they do it every day or not. I would recommend calling before you go). However, if you schedule doesn't allow, you should still enjoy this zoo. The staff was great and I know my kids (5, 6 and 9) enjoyed it. If you are in the area for another attraction, I would highly recommend this as a great way to fill some time or change the pace. It certainly rounded out our trip! read more

I went to this place with my 2 yr old son. We had fun until we went into the bird enclosure. My son was attacked by a peacock. The peacock left four scratches on his face (from the temple to the chin) a deep 1" gash (that was bleeding) on his head, and two scratches on his neck. When he fell he hit the concrete and busted his lip and was bleeding. I went to the front desk to get help and other than saying I'm sorry they did nothing. I asked the lady there for something to clean the wounds and she offered me moist towelettes (yes, the kind you get at restaurants). I went in the bathroom and cleaned the wounds as best I could and my wife had some triple antibiotic which we applied. When we went back to the counter she was on the phone talking to someone explaining what happened. After talking to on the phone she explained to us that the peacock was trying to mate with the female and that's why he attacked my son. If that's not admitting guilt, I don't know what it is. I told her that a peacock trying to breed should not be in an enclosure where people are going to be interacting with it. She sait it was the first time that had happened, but later she told my wife that they had had a complaint about the peacock that morning. After that we left. I kept cleaning the wound for the remaining vacation days, but it got infected and my son still has a bump in the head from the attack. We went on June 19 and it is July 12. He had to go to the doctor twice and has had two series of antibiotics. Unbelievably the treatment and lack of action /help on the part of the staff of this place was even worse than the attack. If after this story you still decide to visit, avoid the peacock in the bird enclosure. I wish we could include pictures here. read more

On arrival we noticed a bad smell but shook it off and thought it would get better. Upon entering further the animals appeared to be in much distress living in horrible conditions. At least in the wild these animals would have a better opportunity to not eat and sleep in their own feces & urine. We observed that fruit for the animals was bought and set out in their original Kroger Grocery Store containers with some having mold. As we continued I observed a roach on the floor along with many cobwebs on the inside and outside of the facility. There is truly NO EXCUSE! PLEASE DO NOT VISIT. This has really made us think about visiting facilities that have ANY animals on display. We contacted PETA however the regulations are so minimal for these types of facilities but you can help by not attending! read more

This place is so sad and depressing to visit. The animals are kept in very small and very unnatural environments. They look like they are ill and very stressed out. The prairie dogs were scratching on the glass trying to get out and kept in pine chips, which is in no way natural. There was an alligator that was in a cage the size of a very small walk in closet and it's water was terribly disgusting and barely was big enough for him to fit in there. There 5 lemurs in one tiny exhibit. The rodent section really depressed me, especially watching how they just keep breeding the guinea pigs. I own a guinea pig as a pet and know what intelligent and special animals they are. What do they do with all of them? Feed them to the snakes? The rats and mice were sad to see too. There was about 50 to 70 mice in a ten gallon tank with a ton of tiny pink mice that were being eaten. :( then there were cats in a tiny cage with nothing to do at all. One bird was lying in the bottom corner of the cage shaking and it honestly looked like it was dying. The animals were not given clean water, the food didn't look fresh, their cages were gross, unkept, and animals looked stressed and depressed.. As did I when I left. I was stressed and depressed about the animals and upset that this place is allowed to operate like this. The animals deserve better care than this. Please don't support this place. Not worth the time or money or the support and don't even get me started about the smell. read more

LOVED the zoo! Got a chance to tour the entire zoo, and learn about every single animal! Highly recommend that you visit this place!

Very cute place with lots of animals. For for all ages! The baby pigs were the cutest part of the whole thing. Loved all the lemurs and crazy monkeys everywhere! Great attraction for such a cheap low price! Spent almost 2 hours wandering around looking at the animals. read more

Wonderful place for family & friends to visit. We found tickets on Groupon that included a bag of deed. Great deal & lots of different animals and species to look at. Animals are well taken care of and beautiful enclosures & habitats. My kids loved feeding the goats & donkey. The llama pulled my hair so don't get too close to that one lol. But it was a great experience & will definitely be returning. read more

Do Not visit this place. You will not leave with a warm fuzzy feeling. Instead you will leave with a broken heart. The conditions in which these animals are contained are awful. There were cob webs all over the cages and ceiling. Dead roaches were all over the floor. The animals don't appear to have a special diet, it's just whatever Kroger grocery store had on sale. Yes there were containers of fruit that were just dumped in the cages that were from Kroger. Some even had mold. The smell of urine was overwhelming when you walk in the front door, but the gift shop was really nice(sarcastic tone). It seems they take better care of the gift shop than they do the animals. Very sad place. We contacted PETA after visiting and they suggested that we post our experience on sites that a lot of people would see so other people would not visit this place. Every person who doesn't go there is a win for the animals. All in hopes that the place will shut down and the animals can be sent to a more humane environment for them. read more

Me, my husband and 3 children visited Rainforest Adventures in March of 2014. If we would have known what we were walking into before hand, we never would have went. The animal enclosures were INCREDIBLY small. My 2 older kids (11 and 6) were devastated that the animals had little room to move around. The Parrot area was dirty. The animals that were housed with the parrots (on the ground) had bird feces on them and the area was not clean....at all. The animals outside (Ostrich, llamas, sheep and goats) also did not have what we consider "running/roaming room." We were so focused on how the animals were caged, etc that it was impossible to enjoy seeing these beautiful animals. They deserve SO much more than what Rainforest Adventures is giving them. I would never recommend Rainforest Adventures to true animal lovers. My kids continued to talk about their experience there and how sad they felt for the animals during the rest of our vacation in Tennessee. To Rainforest Adventures: You need to put the money you make from admission/gift shop towards building these beautiful animals enclosures that are bigger and allow them to be active. Their enclosures need to be cleaned regularly. They deserve SO much more than you are giving them. read more
