I love the fact that their mascot is always at community events, taking pictures with kids and just being a happy go lucky mascot. A very good little shop right next door to my favorite Chinese Place! I like their Cake Batter and Cheesecake flavors, because they are better than Coldstone. They have a good topping selection of sweets like sprinkles and chocolate and cookie dough, etc. and fresh like kiwi, pineapple, and strawberries and savories like all chopped nuts. One thing that isn't quite as obvious is the Sauce selection which boasts caramel, chocolate syrup, fudge syrup, and various fruit syrups, but they are right next to check out. Perhaps I was just distracted by the lovely rainbow sprinkles. The cups only come in one size, so know how much you want before you over or under do it. Flavors change often, so also be prepared to be spontaneous! It's good stuff. I really like it. read more

This place is the worst yogurt place I have ever been to. My mother , son and I walked inside and never was even greeted. Stood there for about 5 minutes and finally an old guy(guessing the owner) came out from the back and asked if we wanted to sample something, like we were bothering him. He served the yogurt for our sample for us and didn't even ask if we wanted anything else or even give us the cups for ourself. He was also looking at us as if we are some trash or low lives. I only wanted to get a little yogurt for my son because he is 11 months and doesn't eat much. Well we go to pay and he says rudely wow big purchase. We gave him a card to pay our 1.85 amount and he said that that money he doesn't even get cause the credit card company gets it. Which even so you should not be telling the customer that. After paying we were looking for a spoon and he saw my son had a spoon in his hand from juice it up we grabbed for him to play with. And he says you already have a spoon you don't need one. We were like okay?? Needless to say I will not be coming back to this place at all and I will tell people not to either. It's not wonder why no one is inside when we walked in. This was my first and last time there!!!! Do yourself a favor and take a drive further to another yogurt place. This is a very uncomfortable environment to be in. read more

haha the comment from Randy D. was interesting. Funny how some people can have such a completely different experience than most others. I have 'never' had a visit where any of the staff was 'rude' to me. The "old guy" at the register has always been very nice and pleasant. I can only assume that Randy D. had a bad day and he was rude...hum? As for it being closed within a year? HA even funnier still! The place is packed all the time, they have much better yogurt that the other places, they give discounts galore, their store is CLEAN all the time and it is very convenient and easy to get to, parking is very easy (nothing like the other place in AV) I could go on and on....I LOVE RAINBOW YOGURT!!! :) I have the VIP card and I even have a mug so I save EVERY time I go!!! Plus I have a punch card for free yogurt! WOW what more could a girl ask for? read more

AMBIANCE: Parking lot, clean, empty. Entrance was clean. Kids loved all the colors. Cool with A/C and fans for a hot summer day. People loitering in the parking lot soliciting (not the business' fault) SERVICE: Didn't see an employee for a couple minutes. There was nobody behind the counter. My nephew asked for a sample cup. He was told by the gentleman that he would get him a sample. Would not give us the miniature cup to barely taste one flavor. There were a multitude of flavors. Right after my daughter got her basic vanilla/chocolate it was empty and not being replaced for the next. Pomegranate was tart yet very sweet after taste if you go for that type of flavoring. Cake batter was generic. FOOD: Flavors were very mediocre and not above anything else in the high desert as far as froyo bars go. Toppings were plentiful. COST: If you ask me, $5 for a froyo for adolescents is a bit pricey. Might be ok for 2 people sharing, but yes the cost is $.40 per oz and they only have one size cup. read more

My husband and i both enjoy this place very much. GREAT yogurt and really reasonably priced compared to other frozen yogurt places i've been to locally. FRESH fruit, and the staff's very nice. I've been there prob. ~30 times and have NEVER had a bad experience, The yogurt is the best ive had because it doesnt leave a bad after taste. I'm not a huge yogurt fan, but this place is pretty nice. The main reason I don't like yogurt shops is because they're all usually overpriced, really small and have limited seating -like they don't WANT you to sit and enjoy the yogurt -they just want you to pay and eat it elsewhere. I first came here with my fiance (she dragged me because I'm really not a yogurt fan) and was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I had to put up with the "I told you so" look the whole time while we enjoyed our treat, but it was worth it. (= The yogurt was good, and they had some interesting flavors going on -one of them was the high desert mix, very tasty. The owner was friendly and nice and the employee was smiley and nice. A few things stuck out to me about this place: the cleanliness, the people sitting and actually enjoying their yogurt IN the shop, how big the space was, and the colorful atmosphere. It's very clean and I noticed the employee and owner would immediately wipe down tables after people left and the yogurt dispensers are not messy with yogurt spills everywhere. They also have tons of toppings, which are located at the counter, and all the toppings seemed fresh, especially the fruits. The price was actually not bad, and for yogurt lovers they have a VIP pass, which I took for my fiance, who's yogurt-crazy. All in all, this is the best yogurt shop I've been to and I didn't feel ripped off as we left. read more

LOVE THE FLAVORS!! Thin Mint is my FAVORITE! We go to Rainbow Yogurt several times a week and the place is always busy, customers seem happy, and I've always been very satisfied with the flavors and the price, and the staff. We are VIP members and enjoy the discount often. Even with it being so busy, Rainbow Yogurt is always immaculate. Unlike most other yogurt shops in town, busy= a sloppy mess, not here. Some people get pissy because you cannot help yourself to samples, but after seeing people at nubi lick their cup clean then place it under the next spout that I'm going to use, I'm more than happy to let them swirl up a sample sanitarily. The two young guys who work there are very friendly, go out of their way to help you, and frankly, has always been the case every time I've gone for yogurt. SO... after reading some of the other reviews here, it kinda sounds like sour grapes from a competitor - because as a regular customer I have never seen one hint of what they mention in their complaint. read more

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!! The owner is so rude! The employee came to calm me down because I was so ready to cuss the owner out. My younger brother and I sampled some yogurt and we started mixing flavors but my brother didn't like his flavor combination and threw his cup away and started over. The owner came out and grabbed the cup out of the trash and set it on the counter and said "are you going to pay for this" I told him "no because my brother didn't like his flavor combination and it was already in the trash. I'm not going to eat something that was in the trash" and took the cup back with an attitude and went to saying something under his breath. The employee working explained that they try not to waste food and that they try to save the unwanted yogurt for other employees. Which is understandable about not wasting food but Either way you're not going to force me to eat and pay for something I don't want plus that was already In the trash!! read more

Wow where can I begin, the cashier accused my daughter of making a mess (mess was already there). The owner comes out and tells me they have cameras. I was like why are you telling me this? "Because your kids made a mess", the owner exclaims Guess what, now I am not only not purchasing the 10 yogurts I already filled but I'm never coming here again I told them. Once inside, you will notice a distinct difference from the local competitor (NuBi). This business is clean, roomy, has an abundance of clean and cute tables, with comfortable chairs, friendly staff and delicious yogurt and a plethora of deliteful toppings. I have visited them at several different times of the year and during peak hours as well as opening and closing, and the customer service is consistently great! (I feel like one of the cattle being forced along to the register when I am at Nubi's) Linger at Rainbow Yogurt toppings bar, no one rushes you. Ask for a sample of their ever changing flavors and the staff is happy to oblige! There is never a moment when I haven't enjoyed my visit with Doug and his staff. They make you feel like family! Always polite, welcoming, including you in all sorts of conversations going on...almost like being at a home event rather than a business. They offer several ways to get discounts...a VIP card for frequent visitors which entitles you to a 10% discount each visit. Or buy one of their FroYo cups and get 10% off and carry your icy delight home! They also offer a frequent diner card of sorts, where after 10 visits, your next treat is free! I have always been very pleased when going to Rainbow. The staff are excellent and the place is very clean. Their yogurt is top notch and my family is always happy when leaving. My 3 year old little girl always loves to hear that we are going to Rainbow. This is the BEST frozen yoghurt bar none! My 12 year old son, 4 year old daughter and I go a couple of times a week! The owner is friendly and easy to talk to! The place is super clean! The prices are quite competitive! I see some people talk about Nubi being cheaper, but frankly I would rather pay a few pennies more then eat at Nubis' where cleaning is obviously optional in their book. I would also like to make some comments on issues others have brought up. First off, the last thing I want is to grab my spoon from a basket where everyone else has reached into it also, because frankly most people have no idea that hand washing is important. Secondly, when it comes to samples I have seen people use their fingers to reach in and taste something and that is DISGUSTING! It boils down to this, I chose Rainbow because the yoghurt is delicious, the toppings are plentiful and the hygiene is an A rating. But if you feel that hygiene is not important then by all means go to Nubi, it would be a fitting place for hygiene optional people. read more

This is hands down the best tasting yogurt in the high desert. However, it's also the most grumpy place in the high desert. Watch out if you spill any yogurt or have children; he eyes your every move from the yogurt machine to the toppings. If you don't believe me, when you go in in next time, either he will inconspicuously follow you down from behind his counter to the scale, or simply watch that you don't spill a topping. If he didn't want to always have to clean up messes, he should have opened up a book store. It's a yogurt shop, for cryin' out loud. The owner will complain about the messes your kids make (and if not to you, then he'll complain to other customers about your mess after you leave). I'm not talking about huge messes....it's the normal wiping down of tables or the machines that he has to do after everyone. He will not give you a sample cup to fill on your own, so if you ask for a sample, he will get the sample for you. Talk about being babied where he can't trust customers to get their own samples. Again, open a book store instead. The good news is the great tasting yogurt isn't what he makes -- it comes from a company called yocream and I literally will drive 50 miles down the hill now just to eat this fabulous tasting yogurt so I don't have to deal with the grumpiness of the owner. If it wasn't for how grumpy he was, I'd eat here 3 times a week. I can tell you for sure he loses money because customers don't return on how grumpy he is. My advice for him is to just relax and smile to customers -- you'd be amazed how much more business you'd get. Or hire someone that's chirpy and happy -- the extra cost of the employee will more than pay for itself by the increased revenue from happy and returning customers that come in since they don't have to deal with someone grumpy. read more
