Before I start writing anything about this range I want to tell you something about myself I'm a 55-year-old man and I have been shooting since I was seven years old !! my daughter just turned 18 years old and we wanted to go try out the shooting range in Fallbrook , on arrival we were greeted by a young man however we were interrupted by an older Female I would call her a female because I don't think she's a lady !!! The young man offered to show us around the property but he was rudely interrupted by that female saying we can't do that so basically I have to be a member or I can't even get a tour of the place I don't think that's a Way to build a customer base or to keep people coming back to your place and get them out of there happy every time ,, I firmly believe that female will cause that place to fail and they could seriously go out of business ,, I will never go back to that place I don't care what they will offer me !!!the way we were treated was really rude she showed absolutely no friendliness no interest in making customers , I read a number of reviews by different people talking about the rudeness of the staff ,, but reading is one thing and being there and experiencing it as a whole different story !!! it felt like an insult and that is no way to treat a customer ,, my advice to anyone reading this take your business anywhere else believe me there is no place worst then this !!! OK let me preface this by saying that I am a lifelong NRA member and will always be. REMEMBER this. I do not like that this place requires you to be an NRA member. NRA is a special interest political group, Totally up to them (free enterprise). I am a NRA member by choice because I completely agree with their mission. Other than that, the owner of this place is very rude. He will not earn my money, no trophy's for everyone here. Thanks for offering a range, but no thanks for the attitude. I will travel a little further to get to a BUSINESS OWNER that appreciates my hard earned cash. It is a patch of dirt, that is it. Not worth the cash. This is an excellent range for experienced shooters. I suggest novice shooters start out at a well supervised indoor range. As I tell my kinds, owning a gun is a God given universal human right but also comes with tremendous responsibility. The Second Amendment isn't going protect reckless gun owners. read more

I've been a member at this range 3 years. And it's a run down range. Not kept up. I deal with it only because it's close to my business. Today I went in to renew my membership and they were trying to charge me an extra 180 dollars for my son who's been on my membership since the beginning. The service and customer relations office worker is rude and has zero understanding on how to do business. This range is low low tech . Not even a computer system to keep track of members. They are using a recipe book old school. I do not recommend this range to anyone. Terrible service. The office guy hates his job. So does enough to not work. Iron Sights in Oceanside has awesome customer service. I recommend go there. Rainbow has lost all my business..because the office guy has zero customer service. read more

Didn't necessarily like that I needed to join the NRA to be a member here, but it was a small price to pay to have an outdoor range so close. All employees have been friendly, other members have been great and if you hit it up midweek, you can have the range practically to yourself. Have already enjoyed this place immensely and can see myself being a member here for a while. read more

Wow. I'm really shocked at the bad reviews, but i haven't been by in a while and i need to renew. I think i expired in June or Aug... i need to check, but everyone has always been courteous and professional to me whenever I've gone by. Justin is awesome and so is Kyle (i think i got his name right) too. They're both veterans, knowledgeable and didn't plenty of time averting questions and giving me a tour. That's why I joined. As for it being run down... It's an outdoor range. It's dusty. Like all other rages. Sure, this one is a little old school compared to some, but that's what is so great about it! I guess i currently have some mixed feelings about the NRA membership at this point, only because the NRA has been shown to mismanage their funds... (i would like to discuss this with Justin and see what his thoughts are on this), however as long as they're still fighting for our 2A rights, i will continue to support the NRA for the time being. I am aware that there are other new up and coming organizations that are currently fighting to protect our 2A as well. We shall see what the future holds, but Rainbow Range is a nice outdoor place to blow of some steam. read more

I'll 2nd the rudeness. First time here and the guy outside on the porch was on the phone when I walked up. I noticed he had a name tag, but due to the fact I had some other issues and not to interrupt him, I popped my head into the office to see if there was someone else. Noticing there was not, and that he had hung up on his caller, I casually mentioned that he must be handling sign in. He quipped back like I was an idiot (love it when folks make you feel that way) "gee, what gave it away?". What an a__hole. I have already told my friends and we will probably go elsewhere. It's not that special of a place and run down too boot. Nothing worse than having to pay for attitude. Ownership should care about this type of behavior, as kindness cost nothing. Next!!! read more

I've been a member there for years and always enjoy training there. I don't have deep pockets and find the annual fees reasonable, the staff helpful, and I even renewed my NRA membership - and I'm pleased that they require NRA membership. Great place!! read more

I am a retired French military guy (Air Force pilot and test engineer), now also a proud US citizen. I have been a member for 15 months and love it. The various range masters (Bart, Jimmy, Tony) have always been friendly and responsible about the safety of all members. I like the variety of ranges (pistol, shotgun, rifle, etc). I also enjoyed CQB rifle training when the shotgun range was available for that usage, but unfortunately it seems that this won't be possible in the future. I also found the members I had the opportunity to interact with to be responsible and nice. read more

Me and my friend drove to Rainbow Shooting Range to buy some memberships and fire off a few rounds. Problem is that to get a membership at this range, the owner REQUIRES you to purchase an NRA membership. No NRA membership, no range membership. I explained that I was happy to pay the $180 normal fee, but am politically neutral and, due to personal beliefs, cannot contribute to the NRA. Regardless, we were denied memberships. Also, it was surprising to see how my brother in law, who is black, was treated by the staff. They looked at him like they wanted to use him for target practice. Very rude indeed. Would not recommend this establishment, as it's obvious they have their own personal beliefs that offend me and MY personal beliefs. read more

Unless you are a hardcore conservative or a gun nut, you will be made to feel unwelcome here. As of April 2017, yes you are 100% required to have a NRA membership to buy a membership, and you must have a membership to shoot here, unless you are a guest of a member. A guest pass is $15. Most of the members here... lets just say there's not much diversity. I stuck out like a sore thumb. Anyways, the range is outstanding and people take gun safety seriously here, not like other ranges I've been to. They only operate during daylight hours, so keep that in mind. read more

Just finished reading the negative reviews. Not sure I could disagree more! For the John's or Jonathan's,...Yes a NRA membership is required. Why? Because of the same reasons you oppose it. The NRA is what has kept the left wing sociopaths from taking YOUR guns from YOU. And to comment on the "rude" staff. I have had nothing but pleasurable encounters. Especially with Justin and Jimmy. And for safety, I was approached by Jimmy a few weeks back to make sure I was there legitimately. I didn't get all butt hurt by it... I appreciated him being diligent. We all get what we pay for. I for one am pleased with what the club provides. I can drive to SD and shoot for free. I have the fortune to get paid to shoot. But it's because of how this facility is run, I choose to pay for the membership this business provides. So if you don't agree with this range, that's ok. But don't oppose it because it supports your rights to have a place like this. This range is clean, safe, and money well spent! read more

I'm surprised with all the negative reviews. Today was my first time here but I went with a member as his guest. He told me what to do and what to be expected for so I didn't really ask any questions. But my experience was pretty darn good. Plenty of different ranges depending on what you are shooting, which is always a good thing. All of the neighboring shooters were very nice and everybody was helping each other spot. To me that's what it comes down to. Seems to me that this place attracts nice and friendly shooters. That's the kind of place I want to shoot at. Been a member for over a year now. The last four months some nice changes have happened. Got someone new working and trying to make things better. He is out there himself cutting back weeds and sweeping up. They have added some asphalt and cleaning up the ranges a lot more often. Headed in the right direction keep it up. read more

Lets just say the place is not for everyone. It is nice to be able to shoot outdoors and the location is great. I watched for a while but i decided to leave. No one was rude, nor I got bad looks from anyone but I just didn't feel the place was for me, so I left. read more

If you don't have thin skin, its a great shooting club with a variety of ranges. You go, you pay, and shoot. As some have commented about the service, be respectful, and move on to enjoy your day. Regarding their membership requirements, it's their right to require what they want. No harm in that. I think the customer service adds to the personality of the place. read more

I found the range good, as are the staff. I go to shoot, not socialize. As a Marine, I have never been treated any way but respectfully. I have a good friend, also a Marine, and he has come as my guest numerous times. He also enjoys the range and drives down from San Gabriel to shoot. read more
