Brandi was super responsive and paying the invoice sent to my email was seamless. After the lesson was over, we couldn't stop talking in the car drive back about how relaxed and more confident we felt with a pistol. The proper technique behind breathing was a game changer, as well as practicing the difference between the wall and trigger. We felt we weren't rushed or in competition with one another and the time given to us to demonstrate understanding before moving onto the next task was so valuable since we were beginners. A few months later I booked a training class for my wife and she loved it! I purchased my first firearm from her, I gave her my max budget, she probably could have upsold me to get to my max budget as close as possible but she didn't, she sold me a solid beginner firearm, a few hundred dollars below my budget, that right there shows she's an honest businesswoman, and for that, she has my business for life among other reasons! I'll be back to get my CCW permit through her, thanks to her I'm so much more confident in knowing I can protect my family if it ever came down to it. Given the current political climate, my friends and I decided to refresh our gun safety knowledge before purchasing firearms for personal protection. As women of color have experience on the range but ready to purchase, we were genuinely excited--relieved, even--to find a Black woman-owned business in the Temecula area. It was an hour-long drive, but we were more than willing to go out of our way to support a business we hoped would also support us. That optimism turned out to be a mistake. We arrived on time and were directed into a trailer by a polite gentleman--the only pleasant interaction of the entire experience. Inside were two women, one clearly in charge. No introductions were offered, no names given, no attempt at professionalism or basic courtesy. The "classroom" was a cramped mobile office with folding tables, folding chairs, and a sales counter. Before we could even process the setup, the woman in charge barked, "Sit down and take your test. No chatting." No hello. No welcome. No acknowledgment that we'd driven an hour. No explanation of the class, no introduction of herself as the instructor--nothing. Just orders. The hostility was immediate and palpable. She then planted herself in the middle of the already tiny trailer in a massive camping chair and refused to move as we awkwardly squeezed past her--until one of my friends had to explicitly ask her to scoot. The entire time, she radiated irritation, snapping and muttering about a missing email she "would find," clearly more invested in her own frustration than in the people who had paid her to teach them. It was bizarre, unprofessional, and deeply uncomfortable. As for the "instruction," we were told to watch two videos so she wouldn't have to spend as much time going over the material later. Let that sink in. We paid for a 180-minute class, and her solution was to offload teaching onto prerecorded videos. By the time we quietly excused ourselves and left--unannounced, because engagement was nonexistent--50 minutes had passed with ZERO hands-on training and absolutely no value delivered. We were really expecting more of a hands on experience in a welcoming and professional setting. I wanted so badly to recommend this place. I wanted to find a safe, welcoming space for firearms education and future purchases. Instead, we were treated with contempt, dismissed, and shortchanged. It really pains me to leave this review especially after seeing so many others write experiences that vastly differ from my own. My friends and I drove more than an hour from San Diego specifically to visit this location due to it being black owned. Perhaps the owner was having an off day but we were not even greeted by her. She never made introductions. I only know her name because it's on the license I received. The first thing she had us do was take the test. In my experience, you usually take a test after you receive some type of instruction right? She was preoccupied on her laptop the entire time we were there. When she did address us, she never even looked up from her laptop. She just directed us to the other young lady that was in the office. She totally lacked professionalism and it was extremely disappointing. It's hard to make a second first impression. I really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but the more time spent in her space, the more my friends and I just didn't like her vibe. She responded to one of my friend's review and said that one of us was hesitant to shoot. Not only was that a flat out lie, if she did sense that one of us did not want to shoot, why not, as the professional, ask us why we were possibly hesitant or reluctant and then educate us on ways to possibly get over that apprehension? We all came there with the intention to learn how to safely handle a firearm and to purchase a firearm. We did not go into this situation with any sort of apprehension. We did our research, we chose the place we wanted to go, we booked and paid way in advance. Her behavior made us no longer interested in learning from her.
