I am planning a scuba trip to the Gallapagos Islands and was checking my equipment. I noticed my dive computer had about a 25% battery. I decided it was most likely safer to get the battery changed. I found Beach Cities Scuba in Dana Point, CA and took the computer there. The technician came to me to tell me that a screw had snapped off. Eventually, I was in touch with Scuba Center Temecula. After explaining the situation, and them verifying it, they decided to replace my dive computer. The screw snapping off could have happened to anybody. It just so happened at one of their dive shops. The amazing thing is they stepped up and did the right thing. It is refreshing to know there are still companies out there with integrity. I am now a loyal fan. read more

For years I wanted to pursue the Padi Open Water Certification. I went through the Temecula Scuba Center. Alex signed me up for my classes. Chob used his expertise to set me up with properly fitting and suitable gear. I am very happy with my shop experience. At the pool session I met my instructor named Devin. He has an extensive background in scuba diving and has a list of specialized skills. I felt very safe. Through training he never let me fail, he encouraged me to do the skills again until I could pass the skill. He did the same at the lake. His situational awareness at the lake kept us all safe and ready to learn. Throughout the course he continuously expected improvement and quizzed us on essential topics. I highly recommend Devin Schmitt as a scuba instructor. I was certified yesterday for my the Open Water course. It was a very exciting and enjoyable experience. read more

I completed the Open Water Certification with Scuba Center Temecula. The entire experience was spectacular. Starting with getting registered by Alex Milan (there are two Alexes). He explained everything clearly. After completing the online classes (which I learned later did a great job of teaching the basics although somewhat boring) which is a PADI requirement (don't blame Scuba Center Temecula), I went on my first dive using SCUBA gear. It was in a swimming pool, so not the most amazing thing, but getting to use the equipment and breathing underwater for the first time was an amazing experience. The pool training was long, but Alex Visselli (our dive instructor) made it fun and interesting. Most of the time, we were able to complete the "tasks" on the first try. When we did not get it perfect, Alex V gave us the sign for redo and we did it again. He would always show us how to do it again before we tried it the second time. He had a lot of patience. Although it was a long day, and only going to a depth of 8 feet, it was probably the greatest day of education I have ever had. The next week was at Lake Perris. We saw a couple of fish, but since the day was really more about training in calm open water, that was just a bonus. Once again, Alex V explained everything we were going to do before we went in the water. Then, in the water, we practiced all of the skills we would need for the open water ocean dive, and a lot of skills we will hopefully never need. Removing the weights and putting them back in was incredibly difficult for me, but I was able to do it much better in the lake. Finally, we took the boat to Avalon and walked over to the Casino Dive Park (the equipment was taken by taxi). We did a couple more skill exercises and then explored. At this point Alex V became more of a tour guide than an instructor, although we still had issues here and there which Alex V helped us with. After getting out and having the air cylinders refilled, we went back in the water for pure exploration. Alex V pointed out different fish. The highlight of the second dive was seeing a giant black sea bass. It truly lived up to its name. Alex V was an excellent instructor. He was patient and explained everything clearly, always asking if we had any additional questions. He made sure we had fun, while also making sure we had learned everything and could do it properly. His vast diving experience was a huge asset. read more

Brought my 7 year old grandson here to get him interested in snorkeling and diving. Very nice staff with good attitudes. They gave him a bunch of old magazines and he left pretty stoked. That summer we went to Catalina and he snorkeled for the first time. I really question this one where the integrity remains. When I dropped off my regulator for a maintenance. The person worked there connected the high pressure hose (1st stage) to the other SPG, 2nd stage. The console of my high pressure hose was mis-connected. I had to take it to the store in Bahamas to correct it. I also have watch 200ic, I replaced the battery for under $25 and didn't require labor. I even had it replaced in Honduras for $20 with no problems or issues at all. But this store required labor for $55 plus battery. I really want to question the integrity of the business. read more

New ownership since summer of 2022 and since then the new shop manager, Boonchob Vijarnsorn, has managed to scare away all the front desk, technical and shop support, all the wonderful instructors, and many many previous clients and divers like myself. How is that even possible? I'll tell you that is most likely as a result of Chob's unprofessional practices and behavior. This establishment unfortunately is no longer a 5-star PADI dive shop because of its new ownership and management as of this year. For several months now (and despite many warnings from others) I tried to give them a chance to prove that they could live up to all the real 5-star Yelp reviews that the previous owners earned. However, after several tough and cringe-worthy conversations with Boonchob - my husband and I requested a refund, will be walking away losing at least half of my upfront training payments and will move on to another true PADI dive shop. Warning to new and interested scuba divers, Boonchob (Chob) may very well try to convince you to cut corners and say all the right things to attempt to fast track you to a dive master program (so he can likely hire you since he has no one else) but know that true scuba diver always places the health and safety of people first - followed by optimal diving conditions. You should never feel pressured or rushed particularly in a program that doesn't cover theory and exams. Remember that as scuba divers, its more important to learn at the right pace and with the best instructors. Oh - last but not least, Chob is also the type of manage that will talk on and on and onnnnnn.... so keep it short and concise with him and NEVER let him attempt to scare you from writing your truthful and fair yelp review. Just yesterday, Chob asked me to take down my review otherwise I wouldn't get my refund. Crazy! Good luck divers! read more

Outstanding service from Chob. I never would have known there was a scuba store so far inland, but I was very happy to meet Chob at the Scuba Show in LA June 1-2, 2024. Chob provided much more helpful information than the manufacturer regarding a mask I was interested in, and he went through extra work to special order one in a color that was not in stock and to give me a competitive price. The mask was delivered very promptly, and Chob was available to patiently answer some of my questions over the phone about the manufacturers product warnings. Good people there, I had to send my dive computer to SCUBAPRO for new batteries, while there, I looked around, they've got lots of good stuff. The service department looked very busy, the guy working in there was busy working on regulators, but still had time to answer my questions. The young man on the sales Floor showed me some cool housings for my iPhone so I could use one to take pictures of my dives. Scuba Center Temecula just certified my ten year-old son. I can honestly say that it was the BEST experience we've ever had with a dive shop. My husband and I are advanced divers, but I was terrified to get my son certified. Chob was extremely knowledgeable and very encouraging. Him and Alex spent a lot of time with him in the pool, teaching my son the skills. Alex is the instructor that took my son out for his dives, and he was VERY thorough, having my son do the skills until he got them down perfectly. One skill took quite a while, and many other shops wouldn't have taken the time for him to truly learn the skill, but Alex made sure my son could complete it perfectly. I was in need of refills of my air tanks for my PCP rifles, found out both my tanks needed to be hydro tested, each tank was out of date! Each tank was $55.00.. have reduced my PCP hunting due to COVID. It's a bummer to have to pay over $100 to get the tanks updated, but it's law. Chob at Temecula scuba was very informative and even loaned me a tank with no charge until I get my tanks get back...thx chob .. Since I am in customer service, just down the road from there, I threw out a few questions and tidbits of chatter and Alex handled it like a true pro. I've been coming here for the last few years and will continue to do so under the new ownership. The staff is super friendly and from my experience, won't try and sell you something you don't need. Long story short, I recently went to see about getting replacement hoses/reg for my redundant air set up, and instead of up selling me something I didn't actually need, they helped me adjust my bcd and shown me the best way to mount my pony tank to be more streamlined without having to buy longer hoses.
