We agreed on a plan and budget, which included ripping up carpet and laying down LVP flooring, along with drywall repair, paint and installing fans in the bathrooms and repairing any drywall that was damaged as a result of that installation. Before the project started, I asked if the baseboards would need to be removed and was told no. During the process of ripping up the carpet, they did in fact have to remove the baseboards, which was not discussed with me, and I was told they would do their best to keep that extra expense "at cost" and "as close to our original quote as possible." Also, hardwood floors were discovered. I had a conversation with them about what it would mean to refinish the hardwood floors instead of laying LVP and I was told it would save me money. They sent me a "change order" for this, which was roughly $1000 less than my final balance due, so it seemed I was saving $1000. It was an ADDITIONAL 5k. This was not clarified for me until after that part of the project was finished. The entire scope of my project was not complete, because I had to ask them to stop working on the house due to already exceeding my budget, repeated delays, confusion about whether they were hiring an electrician for part of the project, and unfinished work. While I was waiting for clarification on the additional 5K charge, the owner reached out to me to have a conversation about the project - he left a voicemail which I returned. He never tried to call me again. After several conversations with JB, I was told they would refund the cost of the baseboard (their mistake) but they did not offer to make any other adjustments to my total due for work that was completed. I can only come to the conclusion that I was deliberately misled. I agreed to hire them because I wanted to get all of my projects completed at once to save time. I am left with unfinished work that exceeded my budget by a few thousand dollars, and at square one with my bathroom fans and and other finishing work that needs to be done.

We needed two…read morerooms of carpet restretched and a track and carpet strip replaced between some wood flooring and some carpet. Mike's estimate for the carpet stretching was 25% less than the other quotes I got, and his estimate for the carpet strip was 45% less than the other estimates. Scheduling was easy and Mike and his team arrived on time. Mike called the night before to confirm the appointment, which I also appreciated. The job took about 1-1/2 hours (efficient!) and they cleaned up after themselves (another plus!). They did an amazing job! My husband wasn't convinced that we needed the work done, but now he's been raving about how great it looks! Another score - my husband had to admit I was right! Thanks, Mike! She hired them to remodel her home and trusted them to handle what should have been a straightforward renovation. Instead, within a short period of time, the paint in her bathroom began chipping, the sink cracked, and other things stopped working properly. Even more concerning was how they handled her requests during the project. She asked for completely standard things--a particular faucet, an appropriate sink size, and a grab bar for the shower. They would not accommodate any of her requests. She was actually told they couldn't get her a grab bar for her shower. A grab bar. Home Depot has an entire selection of them. How can a company that specializes in home design and remodeling claim they can't accommodate such basic requests?? Then there is the pricing. Items that can be purchased for a fraction of the cost were marked up dramatically--for example, a showerhead costing around $100 being charged at $750. There is nothing wrong with a business making a profit, but customers deserve transparency and reasonable value for what they're paying. And then things got even worse. The company owner's personal belongings were dumped into the client's dumpster, leaving the client unable to use it for her own renovation waste. But perhaps the most disturbing part of the entire experience was how she was treated when she finally confronted them about it. She was told: "It was easy to take advantage of you." Read that again. "It was easy to take advantage of you." This says everything you need to know about how this company views its customers. People trust contractors and designers with their homes, their money, and sometimes in their most vulnerable moments. They deserve honesty, professionalism, respect, and quality workmanship--not to be treated as an opportunity to make an excessive profit because someone is trusting or going through a difficult time. Please know exactly who you're trusting with your home and your hard-earned money! No one should be made to feel like they were an easy target. People deserve better than this!

While the roof itself met our expectations, the LP trim installation and finish work did not. We documented numerous concerns, including inconsistent caulk color, oversized and uneven caulk application, missing caulk in places, trim that wasn't completed, and siding that was damaged during trim removal. These issues were raised immediately after the work was completed and became the subject of months of emails, inspections, and discussions.   To the company's credit, the owner acknowledged that there were workmanship issues, replaced damaged siding, apologized more than once, and offered credits toward a resolution. However, despite months of follow-up, we never felt the workmanship met the standard we expected or that the remaining issues--particularly the appearance of the caulk and overall finish quality--were adequately resolved.   What was most disappointing was how much time and effort we had to invest after the work was supposedly complete. Instead of enjoying our finished project, we spent months documenting concerns, taking photos, scheduling walkthroughs, exchanging emails, and trying to reach a fair resolution. Ultimately, after receiving written notice that the company intended to pursue a construction lien if the remaining balance was not paid, we chose to pay the outstanding balance to conclude the matter, despite continuing to disagree that the workmanship issues had been fully resolved. Every contractor encounters challenges. In our view, what separates a great company is delivering consistently high-quality workmanship and completely resolving problems when they occur. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. If you hire this company, I strongly recommend inspecting every detail before making final payment and ensuring that all punch-list items are completed and accepted in writing. #windlickers

I think someone was looking down from above. I don't want to go on and on however these people are ANGELS in disguise. This was an extremely stressful situation considering we live in Cleveland and would not be able to get to her house for a week or so. Everyone there treated my Aunt with respect and showered her with support and truly cared about her and her situation. They came in an removed all damaged property and got her house dried out in no time and ready for reconstruction.
